Happy pride to my fellow aro & ace homies ! ⚔️
The tragedy of Trent Fernandez is that he is unfallibly kind. He went through hell and back and suffered rejection at all sides from people who were supposed to help him and even still he is kind.

the mandalorian and grogu thoughts but not really (spoiler free)
idk how controversial this is but i really miss din djarin having a personality apart from being grogu’s dad
like yes, i get it, their relationship changed him in profound ways and grogu is definitely one of the reasons din has grown so much as a character; it’s very obvious that both need one another in order to be their best selves and that is totally fine, that’s a healthy familial relationship
BUT while grogu has seen plenty of development in s3 and the movie (i won’t spoil it here, you’ll have to take my word for it), din’s entire existence now only makes sense because of grogu. which is a very shitty way to treat this character even on a meta level: think about parents that don’t have a life outside being a parent - suppression of personality once you have a kid, not having your own time or your own space and losing yourself in a singular role.
i love seeing din fight and be a badass who takes no shit from anyone (which the movie shows very well - a nice change from the nerfing he got in s3) and i could watch him kick ass for the rest of my life without getting bored.
but he is (or could be) more that just "the muscle" or "the father" in this story. i love din so much and i see so much potential in his character and it’s infuriating that they don’t seem to know what to do with him anymore. and this is not coming from a "projection of who this character is" kind of space. it's coming from all the stuff that we learned about din in the first two seasons: his history, his creed, his conflict with what the creed of the children of the watch demands of him and how that is not the universal truth about being mandalorian. the foundation and hints we got of how good of a leader din is even without trying (or especially because of that). the last real development arc for him was the entire helmet removing narrative and that was a fucking mess. which makes me wonder if anyone from that creative team actually cares about his character anymore
when one chooses to walk the way of the mand'alore, one is both hunter and prey. how can one be a coward if one chooses this way of life?
