Chrollo’s bed hair…
- Why always me?!!!
One day… we will definitely meet again
Me: It's good for Gon and Killua to spend time apart from each other; neither of them have any real experience with friendships, much less the immediate and intense connection that they found with each other. You can already see that inexperience being materialized as over-dependence and near ostracization from others around them, because they found each other and immediately became each other's entire world. But this dependence on each other ultimately hurt both of them in the end, Gon discovering that some conflicts cannot be mended by Killua's presence and Killua discovering that he cannot save Gon from everything. These realizations in the midst of battle nearly cost both of them their lives and has also fundamentally changed their relationship. They are different people and no longer each other's one and only but that is okay, it will be good for them to spend time apart and reunite after experiencing independence after discovering what it feels like to have a soul mate. This will only strengthen their relationship and make it much safer and healthier for both of them.

“Hisoka cared more about Gon than Ging” I’m tired of hearing this FIRST OFF:
1) Ging KNEW Gon wasn’t going to die. In the same way he knew how the arrangements for how the chairman election rules would be determined (through drawing lots), or how he knew the bluff of putting him as chairman of the election committee would make the Zodiacs more likely to agree to the other rules he set. THAT is why Ging wasn’t worried and didn’t care. Because he KNEW Gon would live. (Not to say he still isn’t a shitty father for not looking out for his son or going to go visit him)
Now secondly,
2) Lets not forget Hisoka only cares about his OWN interests. He’s clearly giving thought to killing Alluka and Killua for his own selfish benefit to earn Illumi’s wrath. Not caring that Gon will also die in the process as long as he has something to gain.
And yes in the end he didn’t kill Alluka, Killua, or Gon upon hearing more on how Alluka’s powers work and therefore knowing he wasn’t in any harm from it, but this doesn’t change the fact that he still would have killed them for his own benefit in one way or another.
Hisoka really only cares about having as many toys as he can. He doesn’t necessarily “care” for Gon. He just wants to have more people to play with.
In conclusion just stop making Ging out to be someone who is worse than this murderous and selfish magician. He’s still not a good guy, but he’s not on Hisoka’s level.
some hunter exam flirting….. a simpler time
kortopi likes to make copies of the troupe’s belongings when he’s bored. like shalnark’s phone or nobunaga’s sword, but he makes so many that they have to guess which item is actually theirs before they grab the wrong one before they go on a mission only to have it disappear 24 hours later. kortopi doesn’t give a shit. kortopi will copy anything. kortopi doesn’t care
We were doing those beginning of the trimester “ice breaker” questions in my class today and the teacher asked “If you were trapped in a ditch and had to choose between sitting in there with all of the spiders or the creepiest demonic clown you could think of which would you pick” and I thought that wasn’t a very fair question because either way you’d be stuck with Hisoka
A ranking that Togashi made listing the strength of each of the Phantom Troupe.
Straight from the manga
-..you are not even a member anymore…*hic*
So since the manga is coming off hiatus, the dark continent arc will go back into full swing. And since we know that the dark continent arc will be even more hellish than the chimera ant arc, I’d like to remind everyone about the purpose of Togashi’s writing, specifically as it relates to the main four.
I think a lot of us either don’t understand or forget exactly why Togashi chooses to put the main four through such peculiar, brutal hell. And we know that Hunter x Hunter is not a typical shounen manga at all - it’s one reason why we love it so much. But I’ve noticed that the fandom asks for complex characters, and when actually given complex characters, reduces them to a single trait or single mistake instead of looking at them holistically. Which is a shame, given that Togashi’s put a lot of work into developing his protagonists. The point of each arc is to develop the protagonists.
I’ll start with Kurapika. The Yorknew City arc showed Kurapika in his most ruthless, single-minded, bitter light. That turned a lot of people off - there were comparisons between Kurapika and Sasuke, even though Hunter x Hunter came out before Naruto, and even though there are significant differences between their characters. People lambasted him for killing Uvogin (even though Uvogin is not a hero and not a good person) and began sympathizing with the Genei Ryodan (even though the troupe specializes in murder and robbery, including murder of innocent people). That aside, a lot of people forget the critical thing that the Yorknew City Arc revealed: no matter how angry Kurapika is, and no matter how focused he is on his goals, he will never sacrifice his friends to achieve his goals. Chrollo himself said this, when he realized that “Kurapika’s weakness is that he’ll save his friends before killing me”. The whole point of Kurapika’s revenge is for his massacred clan. What ultimately drives Kurapika, besides revenge or anger, is the strong love he holds for his friends. Togashi shows us that even though Kurapika can be completely ruthless and reckless, he still maintains a core of love for his friends, logic, and rationality. But, he’s also shown us that Kurapika has a long way to go before he truly calms down for good and stops recklessly pursuing revenge. And that’s okay. He’ll get there, with the help of his friends. Kurapika is someone who needs to be with his friends. When he is alone, his morality and mental health are at its lowest.
