I think D&D’s biggest mistake this season was that they counted on the audience siding with Sansa in the whole Dany vs. Sansa storyline. They wanted to keep Jon vs. Dany under wraps but at the same time needed to make it clear that Dany was the antagonist. So, they inserted Sansa into the protagonist role that (for plot reasons) couldn’t be occupied by Jon. However, that was a huge misstep because Sansa is not well liked among the GA while Dany is a fan favorite. They honestly gave the audience too much credit and banked on them seeing that Sansa was the one who was justified in her actions and beliefs. They were wrong. People were always going to take Dany’s side no matter how wrong she was and no matter how right Sansa was. The truth is that it was a huge mistake to hide Jon’s motivations and feelings because as long as those remained ambiguous people were always going to interpret and twist the situation in favor of hero Dany and villain Sansa.

im sorry the fact that half a million people have signed a petition to reshoot game of thrones s8 is the most disrespectful bullshit I’ve ever seen. I get it you’re pissed with the writing, me too, but the reason 90% of these people signed is because their white saviour went mad queen something which has been foreshadowed for years and is obviously going to happen in the book too. The entire cast and crew have put their blood, sweat and tears into this show and for half a million people to say ‘nah I didn’t like it do it again’ is fucking despicable.
