I get baffled when some people on Twitter vehemently deny the Littlefinger- Heathcliff parallels because the parallels are just undeniably there?

You don’t have to like that there are parallels between the most famous Byronic hero and the sleazy grooming pos villain of Asoiaf.

You also don’t have to think that the parallels are meaningful and were intended by the author, I don’t really think GRRM intended them myself.

But denying that there are parallels? That I don’t get. There simply are parallels.
