At first, the look on her face would suggest that she was in fact, very proud of that shot. However, that soon changed as the rest of the guard post was put on high alert. With the boss’ order to change ammo types, she adapted quickly, and fired almost immediately afterwards. CRACK! - THWAP. The quickshot smacked the soldier holding up the Boss straight on the side of his head, just missing the end of his helmet. With that done, she was able to focus on the other soldiers ready to bombard either herself, or Snake. They knew there was a sniper, but did they know where? ( She could change that in a matter of seconds.. )
The guard fell with a dull thud, crumpling to the ground in a deep sleep from the tranq. It sounded like things were going to get hairy either way-- more guards began to yell, calling for searches. Over their radio, the intercepted chatter of the base’s HQ and the CP began to sound.
-- “There’s a sniper! Position unknown! Searching now!”
Keeping low, Venom peered over the small wall he knelt by. Four guards were advancing in formation. Getting to them would be impossible without taking some serious damage. He’d need to improvise. As soon as these guards were down, the outpost would be theirs.
Taking a sleep grenade from his belt, he gave Quiet a silent signal. If she hit the grenade at the right time, the guards wouldn’t have time to react to the sleeping gas.
With a strong toss, the canister flew right to the middle of the guards’ formation.
Pequod hovered over the LZ. A spot that was quite familiar in terms of territory and terrain. While sand was sent into a frenzy as the blades above spun like a perpetual cyclone, the faint noise of a touch-down allowed the Boss to know, Quiet had left the chopper. Eyes scanned the area ahead for a very brief moment. Using the abilities given to her by Cipher.. (at least.. that seemed to be the speculation) she was off to the nearest, most ideal sniper position. at a good.. five hundred yards, the female pulled the butt of the rifle against her cheek.
Humming. Her voice, though not actually speaking any comprehensible words.. instead began allowing itself to play through their comms with some sort of song. Almost instantly she had the scope zero’d in, ready to fire whenever the boss ordered.. CRACK! - Watching closely, the bullet traveled the distance, barreling through the head of both enemy soldiers. And before the boss said anything else, she was already prepping to take out someone else.
Well, he certainly hadn’t been expecting a shot like that. Part of Venom was even just a bit shaken-- unnoticeably so, but still. The resulting spray of blood from both dead guards splattered along his sneaking suit, though it didn’t matter much.
The man who had been in Venom’s hold flopped lifelessly to the ground. A guard who had seen his comrades mysteriously fall over was quick to shout, asking if the two were alright. After no response, he began to run, flashlight and assault rifle in tow. His own gun rose up, the silenced pistol quickly putting the guard down with a well-timed shot. One guard left-- the target he needed to Fulton back to Mother Base.
“Quiet-- switch to your tranquilizer...”
The last guard had started patrolling closer, though where exactly, Venom couldn’t see. Just as he turned the corner, Boss was met with the end of a gun barrel. The guard began shouting in Russian, ordering Boss to put his hands up. He complied, moving slowly so as not to test the man’s trigger finger.
He glanced off to the side, where the green laser’s origin led to. A silent, slow nod confirmed the order to the sniper.
‘ Take the shot. ‘

Eyes squinted in the distance of the Afghanistan wilderness. Two guards patrolling, side by side. Attacking one would alert the other-- he needed them both out at the same time to move on.
“Quiet-- Man on the left. Fire on my signal.”
Venom crept his way towards the two guards from behind, his steps muffled by their chatter. Closer...closer...
He lurched forward grabbing the guard from behind. CQC on an unaware enemy sealed the man’s fate as he fruitlessly wriggled in Venom’s hold. In the shock, the guard stumbled as he turned to try and get a grasp on what was happening. His words would seal the other man’s fate as well.
“ --Fire. ”
..That loss torments you still..

Venom doesn’t remember his real name anymore, the hypnotherapy erasing almost all traces of his old self, locking old memories deep within. Instead, all Venom can remember is his old codename; Medic. He tries not to go by it anymore though-- he isn’t Medic. He’s Big Boss...or a part of him, anyway.
Venom’s only real resentment towards Big Boss and those in on changing him into his phantom, is that he doesn’t care for the fact that nobody asked him for is input. Granted, he was comatose, but a part of him tends to carry that small grudge. In the end, he tries his best to forget that pain-- he really would have done all this for Big Boss either way, so he tries not to get hung up on it.

“About as well as you can imagine,” Kaz answered, coming over to greet him. It’d been a while since they’ve talked. Always out on the field, however, Snake’s responsibilities were endless, and Kaz wasn’t fool enough to expect anything else. “They’re tough. Still in the brig being dealt with, but a few of them are starting to budge.”
“Just can’t believe yet that you’re really Big Boss, but give it time. They’ll get it.” The legend was hard to resist. “Anyway, it’s good to see you again. You were starting to feel like a stranger.”
“Can’t blame them-- not very many people could survive what happened at the old Mother Base.”
Even he needed time to rest. There was plenty of work to do-- to still be done-- but they weren’t fighting against time anymore. Not at the moment, anyway. Snake fished out a cigar, chomping the tip a bit and lighting the other end-- a waft of smoke gently rolled from his lips.
“Likewise.” he nodded. Kaz’s responsibilities were just as deep as his own-- running Mother Base while also keeping up with his duties as a CO was hardly an easy thing to do. “Holdin’ up alright then?”

“How’re the new recruits adjusting?”
The last few Soviets that Snake had fultoned had put up quite a struggle. Their talents were too valuable to Mother Base to pass up, however. Even so, the man still sought to see that their new home was comfortable, at least as much as a soldier could hope for. Moral was important, and having troublesome recruits didn’t help any.
