But if I was to make an educated guess, I would look for them in the Sundari palace, or better yet, the late Duchess Satine's former residence, which I am to understand was not but two miles East from the palace itself. If they are not there, then they have already been sent to Senator Kin Robb. She will at least have a copy if you are unsuccessful finding the originally sealed documents. You may kill her if it comes to it."

Palpatine smirked. This man knew not who he was, and this would be quite entertaining to the devious Sith Lord. But something strange surrounded this man, or at least that is what the Force was telling Sidious.

"I should certainly hope so, my friend. If I lacked that vision, I wouldn’t be a very good leader myself, now would I?" he gave a short chuckle, following it up with his tender elderly smile, "But tell me, what is your name sir, and how can I be of assistance?"

Smith stepped inside the office, glancing at the simply-furnished room from behind the reflective lenses of his sunglasses. Little about the man was given away by the room -it was very standard, nothing struck him as odd in any way. And that, in itself, was strange. After all, humans were known to have quirks and weakness. But that was not reflected here, not in the slightest. "Indeed… A certain foresight is required of those who would guide mindless sheep." "Smith, Agent Smith. And exactly how you can help me is yet to be seen… First though… Why would you expect a man like me to be here?”

What a very peculiar manner in which this man spoke. In fact, almost everything about him was in some way or another, off. And when he called himself an agent, that clouded even more of this man's intentions of being before Palpatine. The only thing that was clear, was this would be some game that the Chancellor would have to play. And, after all, he was quite used to playing games. 

He walked closer towards the man wearing black shades, covering his eyes completely. "I fail to see a proper reason, Agent Smith, for your standing here in my office. Unless you are a representative of some persons that have interest in the Republic. Or do you seek the Jedi on a matter that concerns you?"

"Chancellor, we've arrived in the Hoth system. The Separatist's presence is confirmed, theres a decent sized fleet here. Should create a lot of scrap."

"This is most troubling. Most troubling indeed, Commander. Shall I send word to nearby reinforcements?"

After being hit in the face with the laser part of the blade of Nat’s lightsaber, Kota, was for the moment, blinded. The pain felt all too heavy and it still burned, even after whole minutes passed by since the attack. But he was not going to be treated like a coward, he still had the Force on his side, and he knew that was all he truly needed to make an attempt to stop this threat. He was still so unsure of who this father was that he spoke of. The Jedi only knew of two Sith, that were alive at least. And it was unlikely this youth belonged to Dooku. 

"You don’t have to do this, for I sense a good deal of nerves on edge. And that is okay to have, but only if you turn away from the shadows." he insisted, buying some time as he moved to rip a piece of his cloak to cover his eyes. It would free the Jedi’s hands, and would also give him a lot more focus. "But if you are going to kill me, do it like a man,not a boy. If anyone is the coward, it’s you! Name calling? How pathetic could you really be, hmm? If you’re going to kill me, do it with my saber, not yours!"

Once he finished tying the cloth around his eyes and head, he was granted the vision of the Force. All he needed was the right moment, of which he sensed was soon. Kota knelled before Nat, waiting for the Sith to reach for the Lightsaber that the Jedi had just tossed onto the ground. If he took the bait, then he could stop the Nat. But if the other Sith, of whom Kota now knew was close by, took it, then he would have to be reduced to retreating.

"You do know you can smell a Bantha from a mile away, don’t you?" Nat growled, sensing some kind of trick. He couldn’t pinpoint it, but he didn’t reach for the saber. Instead, he flicked his gaze toward his father, who stalked out of the shade of one of the round buildings.

"Do not kill him, Nat," Maul told him, and Nat bowed his head in acceptance. "However, take his saber. You never know when you might need a spare, my son. Hello General Kota. So nice of you to lend us your ship… I will see you there, my boy. Do as you see fit, but do not kill him unless you have to." Nat’Makara nodded and watched his father leave before reaching—stupidly—for the Jedi’s weapon.

"My father is quite intimidating, no?" He asked casually, Fingers closing around the weapon.

There was no mistaking the signature of dark force energy, one that likely matched the Sith. But it seemed weaker and broken, as if it were in pieces, scattered. And upon hearing the voice, Kota confirmed it was not Dooku in a mere instant second. However, it was someone just as evil, or used to be. 

"You know my name, and yet I have failed to know yours, dark sider. But why are you sp- What are you talking about?!" Kota ripped the cloth off, and with the little bit of sight that had returned to him, Maul stood before him, menacing as ever. How many times was this Sith going to be a problem for the Jedi this time? And now he had a son? The realization of what was transpiring was starting to become a little overwhelming for the Jedi, and he was succumbing to the confusion.

With no where else to go, and the layer keeping Kota from becoming truly angry and falling was ever so thin. The tight rope, now more tighter than ever. If the former Sith was letting him go, he would do so, and contact the council about this as soon as possible. Then he turned to Nat. "Your father's motives are strange, as are yours little one. But he is wise to have you keep me alive. Remember, there is always a light in the darkness." he said, as he rose to his feet and walked away. 

There was nothing he could really do. And with every second that passed, Maul's connection to the grand scheme of the Sith was becoming more and more clear. Something beyond his control was about to transpire, and today was not a fighting day for Kota.

"Once again, I find myself at a lack of words for your bravery and heroism, Jedi Commander Rush. What would this Republic be without leaders like yourself?"

"The Republic is the Republic, and with such an army and such leaders like yourself, I would only be a dent in the Separatist armor in comparison to what the Republic could do."

"My my, you look rather important." Palpatine commented as he looked and examined the fellow standing right there in the doorway. "Are you expecting me?"

Without a twitch of movement Smith examined the older male, his eyes suggested a certain wisdom -more than was usually present in a dull-witted human. Most would rather gorge themselves with so much meat they embraced an early grave than actually think. Something about this one… Something was different.

"Oof!" Nat landed flat on his back, dazed for a moment, and Maul from his place behind the retaining wall of one of the buildings thought for a moment that his son had died. Then Nat picked himself up, winded but otherwise okay. "Ask away, I’m all ears," he growled, though still out of breath. It sounded more like an indignant squeak as his father watched. "I must kill you… And it is a good thing I desire it. I am no child." He snarled. Twenty years tomorrow.

"I’ll enlighten you before I kill you, old man. I am my father’s apprentice and I answer to none. Will you stand and fight or die a coward?!" Maul smiled a little at that. Offering him a chance to defend honor at least, even if the beginning had been dirty Force tricks. Nat was showing some promise, but Maul sensed something darker. Something pitch black. His hearts fought for dominance as they jumped into his throat. He considered helping Nat to finish if, finish the Jedi off, but the boy needed to prove himself… He just had to do it fast.

Nat felt the prickle too, but ignored it and stalked in a line in front of Kota, teeth showing in a snarl of defiance and anger. He was fuming, but he didn’t know why. Maybe it was his angry Zabrak blood, constantly threatening to boil over. Constantly out of control. He’d seen his father throw things in his anger when Mother left the room after a fight. He’d heard fingers break over the metal walls of their apartments. “Speak up, Jedi dog,”

{- Clearing her throat, Padme gave a faint shake of her head and laced her hands together at her lap, "I simply fear..for to much it seems.”

"It is only natural to feel this way in such a time of crisis." Palpatine replied, a half smile showing upon his wrinkled features on his face. Padme still is a crucial part of his plot, but in a much different way then before. He needed her to remain a Senator. "Perhaps we can resolve some of these fears. Come, into my office."

Ever loyal did the Clone Commander remain. Palpatine knew better than to worry, but things like this have been occurring all too frequently. Not with Clones, but something was stirring, and if the plan did not move along faster, a grave error may arise.

"It is perfectly natural, even for you Commander, to have doubts every now and again. But a war is more deadly off the battlefield, than on. Fear is a dangerous tool, one I never hoped to have had to make use of. But others use War to pollute the minds of the everyday common folk. People like Count Dooku."

Thank you sir."  He replied, giving another salute, before returning his arms to his sides and heading for the exit, taking to heart the conversation the two had.

Palpatine made sure that his loyal and faithful attack dog was properly kept in high spirits. It would all be over soon enough, and then Fox would not ever have to worry himself with rioting again. In the coming days of the end of the War.

The air was now heavy and cold. Whatever darkness Kota sensed before, now doubled in strength. It was likely that perhaps Dooku was here to see whatever plot was taking place, or one of his dark servants. Either way, Kota wasn’t in any mood to deal with a Sith today. However, finding said Sith may provide the information he seeks.

With a swift motion, Kota held his saber’s hilt and activated the blade for defense. 

"Hide no more, Dark Sider, for it is useless!" he called out, voice booming as he walked slowly towards the other docking room. 

It was then he heard the footsteps, and when he swung around, found the halfling, with a smug look upon his face. “So, it is you. But you are only a child, no more than a young man. How can you produce so much of the Dark Side?” he questioned. 

But without hesitation, he used the force to lift the young half breed and bring him closer to Kota. “Now, tell me who you work for?” he asked, using the Force to somewhat bind Nat.

Up until the Jedi lifted him into the air, Nat was fairly confident in his abilities.

The instant his boots left the ground, however, Nat realized just how deep he was in. Wide blue eyes turned glassy with a spark of fear, but he forced it down to the best of his ability. “You know who commands me,” he growled, surprised how much like his father he sounded. “And I am no child, Jedi.”

"Nat?!" In the spaceport, Maul realized in that moment that his boy was missing. He hadn’t heard Nat speak before he left, and now he was gone. The assassin jumped to his feet and tore out of the spaceport. His son’s Force signature was simple enough to pick up, and he stopped. Maybe… Maybe Nat could do this himself…? He decided to wait.

Nat growled and fumbled for his saber, igniting it and hurling it toward the Jedi with as much accuracy as he could so far above the ground, “Put me down,” he snarled.

At first, Kota wanted to punch the child for his arrogant tone. But as a Jedi master, it would be in his best interest to keep his temper in check before doing something so rash. And as for his answer, Kota didn't believe him. At first he thought Dooku, but even he wouldn't be foolish enough to send out a boy. No, he would send a beast, or cunning temptress as he had in the past.

"I'll let you go, if you answer my questions truthfully and without that nasty attitude of yours, got it?" Kota offered, his tone stern and strict like he would have said to any pupil of his back at the temple. But it was in that moment he sensed another dark source of energy, and it was closing in on them. 

But before he could have a chance to turn around and ask more questions to the young man, a lighsaber came hurling towards him, hitting him in the face. The intense pain of having the blistering heat from the saber onto his skin caused him to lose focus and drop Nat. He let out powerful screams of agony, holding his face to make sure his wounds did not suffer any more infections of any sort.

Sidious could not believe his own eyes. Whatever he saw before him, sounded an awful lot like Maul, and yet, looked as if it were a child of the warrior's. And yet, it spoke clearly and made claim that it was in fact Maul himself.

"Your staff? Hasn't it been over twenty years or so since you last used it? And as for your pants..." he rolled his eyes, "Check your old closet."

"Is this what you have found? That our own officials would be so careless, and would play a hand in the fate of these innocent victims, and simply disregard their living standards? Hardly a surprise, but never the less, a terrible lack of judgement. These so called officials, were given their jobs by the same greedy politicians that elected Valorum many moons ago. What ways would you handle this grave set of circumstances?"

“Are you implying there are sectors of the Senate that try to boycott our attempts to restore democracy in times of war by hurting the same people they serve? It sounds tricky, Chancellor. Although it is a possibility, as you said it’d be hardly a surprise. But I’m not interested in gossiping about it, Senator Organa and I have a close relationship with our home planets. Maybe we could help re arranging the new homes possibly in the very same planets the victims are from or to a suitable environment for each of them. I need your approval for such thing, though.”

"A close relationship with Senator Organa of Alderaan? Hmm, he is a seasoned Senator, and with your strong heart and devotion to our principles of democracy, it could be a perfect match to have something good come from all this madness. I think that I may have a solution to combat what stands in your way. If you and Senator Organa can provide enough evidence to disprove that these people's homes are not livable anymore, I shall put the subject on the floor to a vote, giving all the Senators a fair chance to aid you. Once the vote is final, I can immediately start sending credits into the proper accounts to be used to rebuild homes. But should we fair, I may have another... alternative."
