The mod team is thrilled to announce that acceptance emails have officially gone out to all applicants for Phantom’s Core: A Dark Danny Phantom Zine.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who submitted their portfolios and trusted us with their work. The range of styles, interpretations, and beautifully haunting visions you shared with us made the selection process incredibly difficult in the best possible way. This community’s talent is unreal, and we are honored that so many of you were willing to step into the dark with us.

To those accepted: Welcome to the Core. We can’t wait to see the horrors, heartbreaks, and eerie beauty you’ll bring to life.

To those who weren’t selected this round: Please know that your work was deeply appreciated. This will not be the last project we create together—your presence and creativity mean the world to us.

Thank you all for your passion, your time, and your willingness to explore the shadows of Amity Park with us. We’re ecstatic to begin this journey and cannot wait to show you what grows in the darkness.

hi there! i had a question about the sign up form; it mentions that contributors will not be paid, but that this zine will be printed & have merch made. I'm assuming the printed zines will be sold rather than gifted freely, so I wanted to know where the sales from the zine would go? and if contributors would be receiving free bundles/copies of the zine?

Currently as it stands it's not guaranteed that contributors will receive a free copy.

If we reach certain financial goals then we'll be able to provide free copies to our contributors.

Before we let contributors through the portal, we need a team strong enough to hold the door open.

We’re opening Moderator Applications for Phantom’s Core—a for-fun, digital + printed (physical) Danny Phantom Zine—exploring angst, whump, ghosts lore, psychological horror, and every shadow between life and death.

To shape a project this heavy, this ghost-deep, we’re calling for mods who can balance both the creative ans the chaotic.

We’re potentially looking for:

⟡ General Mods—helping with organization, communication, scheduling, and keeping everything running smoothly.

⟡ Writing Mods—approving pitches, giving feedback, managing writer check-ins.

⟡ Art Mods—reviewing concepts, keeping visual guidelines consistent, managing artist check-ins.

⟡ Beta / Quality Mods—ensuring tone consistency, helping polish the final content.

⟡ Graphics / Layout Mods—creating promo graphics, banners, layouts, etc.

⟡ Social Media Mods—handling Tumblr, Discord announcements, and general outreach.

(You don’t need experience—passion, reliability, and communication matter most!)

Requirements:

✦┆Must be comfortable with angst, whump, gore and psychological content

✦┆Must be able to communicate clearly and not ghost the team

Hi! I was wondering who is running this zine currently. (Thank you, whoever it is! It sounds like a cool concept.)

Of course! Currently the two co-organizers are @phantomwithbreakfast and @ghostlyglimmer We're currently putting together the mod team posts so keep an eye out for them!

About us:

We’ve been hyper-fixated (actually, a little obsessed) with Danny Phantom since the first time it aired on TV in our country. We were like “whoa!” and “oh my Phantoms!” and those kind of things. Actually, yeah. Danny was our first crush as we were a kid! He’s like the hero we lost touch with but eventually found again in 2024. We joined the Phandom like an anxious and introverted and socially awkward human being (we still are, dammit).

We do love some good angst and whump and hurt and psychological and gore and horror things that all have to do with our boy. We also are a Pitch Pearl & Gray Ghost lover and recently added a new poly pairing to the ship list called Grayscale / Hunting Oreos (Pitch Pearl x Valerie Gray).

Together with Glimmer we run the Phantom Core server like our half lives depends on it.

Experience:

We had our own business as Graphic Designer for approximately 5 years (which includes everything from designing professional logos and full-on branding for companies, car wrap designs, advertisements, folders and brochures, illustrations for clothing, and so on…), but had to put this on hold due our mental health issues. We ran the Trick or Treat 2025 event and also currently the Secret Santa 2025 one, both in our Phantom Core server.

Why We Joined Phantom’s Core Zine:

We love love love this Phandom with whole our core, but there weren’t any zines yet that dived deeper into the more angsty and darker stuff of Danny Phantom. That’s why Glimmer and I decided to start our own Zine—to bring the darker aspects to the surface.

We’re still accepting applications for contributors! Be a part of the Phandom history and share our love of torturing our little guy!

About: I’ve been a huge fan of Danny Phantom since it started airing but have only been apart part of the Danny Phantom fandom since 2024. I have always loved exploring the eerie and angsty sides of hidden identities and eldritch monsters. Outside of the zine, I work with dogs for a living and help run the Phantom Core discord server. Expect plenty of moody vibes, glowing green palettes, and ghost angst. 👻

Experience: I've helped run multiple phandom events such as a trick or treat event and secret santa events. Why I Joined Phantom’s Core: I love this fandom so much but felt like there weren't any zines that tackled the darker aspects of Danny Phantom. Seeing so many other people create amazing projects I figured there'd be a nice amount of people who'd love to add this zine to their collection and to celebrate how messed up this show is in hindsight!
