I think USAmericans would be like 10% or 20% more bearable online if they stopped believing imperialism has a 1:1 correlation with whiteness, and inversely, that non-white people are incapable of being on the benefitial end of imperialism. the lgbt subreddit is generally pretty decent (if very liberal and america-centric) but the second a post mentions religion i tap out. we as a community need to be so much better towards our religious siblings. the amount of vitriol and hatred towards general religion is bad enough, but the way i've seen religious lgbtq+ commenters get interrogated and outright demeaned is heartbreaking.

"oh but i have religious trauma" and i'm sorry for you but religious lgbtq+ people will always exist, and trauma doesn't give you an excuse to disown an entire portion of our community.
