So I guess we lost the fight, but for some reason I don’t really feel like a loser.

I dedicated a lot of my life to trying to save Eyewitness. The show was with me for such a short amount of time, that I was okay with losing sleep and hair and even my birthday to try and promote it, to do everything I could to get the word out and get the numbers up because I was desperate for more time. It’s been an uphill battle, stretched out over months, but I think it was worth it.

Eyewitness was special for many reasons, but for me personally, it was this huge and astounding sense of purpose. It got me through my days, made me happy, made me take some serious steps forward in my own life. I didn’t know what I’d do without it. I needed a season 2 so badly it hurt. And now there’s a very good chance we won’t get it, and I am upset about it.

But imagine if we hadn’t tried, hadn’t fought, hadn’t tweeted our fingers off and screamed at USA Network day and night? We would feel guilty and regretful. I don’t feel that at all. We put all of our love into this show and saving it, and maybe it wasn’t enough for the network, but it’s enough for me. I did everything I could because Eyewitness did everything for me. I’m heartbroken I might not ever see Philip and Lukas again, but I did get to see them, and it was honestly one of the greatest things to happen to me.

I understand how everyone must be feeling right now. I’m gutted. But think about it: if you’re upset about this, then that must mean Eyewitness had some sort of profound impact on your life. Take a moment to reflect on what that is, and know it was special. 

And nobody can take that away from you.
