𝐹𝒪𝑅 𝒴𝐸𝒜𝑅𝒮, 𝒫𝐻𝐼𝐿𝐼𝒫 𝐻𝒜𝒟 been putting off the work his father had sent his way. Usually giving excuses like he was too busy or he wasn’t comfortable making such large decisions while so uninformed as to the company’s current ongoings. Though his father had seemed to come up with a solution to every excuse he’d recently come up with and the stack of files sitting in front of him on the table at Evans Hall was a clear testament to that. His father was done playing his game and it had been made obvious to the young man that his father would allow him to continue on with his education if that was truly what he wanted, but his old man would no longer allow him to shirk his responsibilities as a future CEO. No matter how far off that future was in reality.
His eyes felt heavy and he wasn’t sure if it was from the lack of sleep the night before or from the two blunts he’d smoked before even making it to the cafe. The logical side of his brain knew it was a combination of the two, but he didn’t exactly think he’d have been able to get through a single file, let alone several, without the help of a little leafy green. Philip scrawled his signature lazily at the bottom of the document having finally finished reading it over for what was surely the sixth time. He refused to make a mistake, to give his father the satisfaction. He moved the file to the bottom of the pile, but before he’d even had the time to crack open the next one an all too familiar face caught his eye.
It took a few moments for the panic to really set in, as he wanted nothing more than to speak up, to invite the small blonde over to join him. But there was a nagging voice in the back of his mind reminding him of what a very poor plan that was. Especially considering his impaired judgment. No matter the strain, weed always had a way of getting Philip to open up emotionally, something he couldn’t afford to do. He could feel an uneasiness setting in as the space between them grew smaller and the hotel heir did the only thing he could think to do at the moment, hold up a file to cover his face and hope she’d continue on her way. // @roreaston

“Yeah, I think I’ve killed them all at this point so I don’t really know why I keep going,” A small sigh left his lips unintentionally as he finished up his slice. He reached for another one, placing it in his mouth as Philip spoke. “Right!” Santino exclaimed with a mouth full of pizza, his free hand shaking aggressively as he recalled the events of that night. Quickly chewing, the male groaned, “They’re dickheads! I wasn’t even doing shit. Or any bad shit, at least. All I did was get in the middle of these two guys that were harassing Jacky! They fuckin’ deserved it.” Rehashing that night recreated the exact frustration he felt within it. “Blows my mind, bro. If I see him, it’s done for him.”
He listened as Philip explained where he’d been, silently noting the change in his friend’s demeanor. “Shit, I’m sorry. You know I know that feeling. It never goes how I hope either, but you’re back. That’s the thing; they always have their own ulterior motives. It’s sick.” Philip and Santino got along so well for a number of reasons, one of those being their weak relationships with their parents. Although Santino knew that it bothered his friend, he’d always been so impressed at how well he was able to function. “You should visit or something for the next break. Or I’ll go that way. Would be cool to have you around. Cause some trouble in every state we’re in,” Santino chortled before stuffing his face once again.
❝𝕀𝔽 𝕐𝕆𝕌 ℕ𝔼𝔼𝔻 any help, just ask, bro. Chances are I’m probably shit at whatever the subject is, but I guarantee I can find someone on this campus to teach you a thing or two.❞ Philip had his specialty subjects, the fields he undoubtedly excelled in, but there were plenty of them he struggled with as well. A fact he wasn’t willing to share with just anyone, though Santino was far from just anyone and he knew better than most the things Philip was capable of and more importantly incapable of. His slender hand reached out for the box once more, extracting a slice of pineapple topped pizza from it with an eager smile. ❝Oh, shit! I didn’t even realize those were the same night,❞ he admitted weakly, his tawny skin flushing with a hint of color as he recalled just how lit he’d been that night. Philip could remember the events being retold to him, albeit the memories were foggy thanks to the weed induced coma he’d been in that night. ❝I’ll be honest, I hope we do see him.❞ The words hung in the air for a moment, an unspoken promise to protect his little brother clinging to them, no matter what might happen that night.
He nodded swiftly, ❝I am, indeed. I’ll be honest, I’m not sure what I’m gonna do for Christmas, man.❞ It was something he tried his hardest to put off thinking about, but it was mere weeks away now. ❝Visiting you on break sounds like it would be a much more fruitful adventure,❞ he snorted before taking another large bite of his slice. Philip knew that having friends from school stay with wouldn’t end well, a theory that he’d proved to himself after only his first semester at Yale. He’d learned at a young age that most people who got to know his family on a personal level usually didn’t stick around long. Granted, he knew he had to give Santino more credit than he was, but it was a risk he simply wasn’t willing to take.
Philip grabbed a third slice of pizza as he rose from the table, the second slice still unfinished in his other hand. ❝I just gotta change man, then I’ll be good to go.❞ He assured his friend before heading towards the stairs and his room. ❝Oh, and I’m making a drink, you want one?❞ The man called over his shoulder only pausing long enough to wait for a response.

Clasping his hands together, he gave a wide grin as Philip rummaged through the boxes. “Appreciate you, bro,” He replied, his eyes sparkling at the sight of food. He’d actually been studying for once, so the fact that Philip came with food to revive the poor man was amazing. It was like he just knew. Picking up a slice, he sat back in his seat and began to eat. He chewed on his bite before opening his mouth to speak again. “Yeah, I’m down for that. I’ve been on this shit for too long, it’s frying the rest of the brain that I have left,” Santino said with a chuckle. Last time Santino had gone to Barcade, he’d been kicked out because he got into a fight. To be fair, it wasn’t his fault at all, but he had a quick temper that once was brought to the surface, could not be reversed for just anything or anyone. “Between you and me, I got my ass thrown out of there last time I went. But I don’t think they’ll really care or even remember me because Joey got kicked out of there a month or two back and he went in the next day like he was hot shit. They didn’t say a thing and that kid definitely started that fight.”
He stopped for a moment to eat and then turned his attention back to his big, “I feel like I haven’t seen you in a minute, though. Where you been?”
𝕀𝕋 𝕎𝔸𝕊ℕ'𝕋 𝕄𝕌ℂℍ, but Philip felt it was the least he could do given his absence over the last week. He hadn’t meant to go off the grid as he had, but going home for the holiday turned into going home for business and it put him in a sour mood. One he didn’t want his friends at school to see. ❝Well, we can’t have that now. I think your poor remaining brain cells need some life breathed back into them.❞ He teased leaning back in his seat as he took another bite. ❝Or alcohol, same difference.❞ Philip shrugged nonchalantly.
❝And I missed it?❞ Philip didn’t go to Barcade often as he preferred a calmer scene like the tavern, but for some reason, he couldn’t put his finger on yet, he was craving more excitement. ❝It’s gonna be wild, I’m sure they won’t even have a chance to recognize you let alone actually get their hands on you to toss you out. And even if they do, they’ll have to throw me out first,❞ he said matter of factly. He’d been hoping the topic of his absence wouldn’t come up but that was a fool’s hope. ❝New York, for the holiday.❞ He said simply at first, leaning forward to rest his elbow on the table. ❝Then my dad had a bunch of shit for me to sign which really, uh, destroyed the whole holiday feeling behind the trip.❞ Deep down, Philip knew that his father hadn’t asked him home so they could spend time together, only to help make sure their affairs were all in order. ❝All I know is I should have stayed on campus,❞ he sighed heavily.

Jacky smirked at Philip, shaking her head. “Sorry dear, this was a day of retail therapy,” she told him simply, fixing the bags at her feet. With everything going on in her love life, she just kinda needed a few hours to herself. “Gift shopping is next week.” She smirked at him, nodding her head at the offer of coffee. “Well, I’ll never turn down free coffee.”
“Well that’s fair,” he chuckled softly knowing full well he’d had plenty of his own shopping adventures with the very same directive. He’d even admit those were his favorite types of shopping sprees. “How many stores did you hit?” Philip asked curiously as he leaned forward and tucked the heavy book back into his backpack at his feet. “You cool with walking there?” He’d never minded the cold having never really known anything but New England winters but he also knew it wasn’t something everyone adapted to well.
ℙℍ𝕀𝕃𝕀ℙ 𝔻ℝ𝕆ℙℙ𝔼𝔻 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝕋ℍℝ𝔼𝔼 pizza boxes on the table in front of his little brother before removing his leather jacket and draping it over the back of the chair. ❝I didn’t really know what you in the mood for so I brought options,❞ he explained, a cheeky sort of grin plastered on his face. He popped open the lid of the top box only to close it a moment later and move it to the bottom of the stack in pursuit of the Hawaiian he’d ordered for himself. Philip grabbed a slice from the desired pie before finally settling down in a seat at the table.
❝So did you wanna head to Barcade or something tonight?❞ He had a feeling like it might be a long shot, given most people took this time in between holidays to really buckle down, make sure all their ducks were in a row before the end of the semester. Something he should have even been doing himself. Yet, Philip couldn’t quite seem to do that considering his ducks had already been put in a row by his father and the company’s board members. @wydsantino

“Okay, I think my arms are officially dead,” Jacky plopped down in the seat, dropping the half a dozen shopping bags at her feet and resting against the chair. While she wasn’t one to spend copious amounts of money, she loved a good shopping session. And with all the Black Friday sales (and the fact that she didn’t go home for Thanksgiving), she found herself lost in the mall. “I’m going to need at least 3 shots of espresso to recover.
@yalestarters
He heard the footsteps and the loud rustling of shopping bags before he actually heard Jacky or saw her fall into the soft, welcoming couch beside him. Philip could feel a half-smile tugging at the corners of his mouth as he looked from her to the several bags over-crowding her feet. “So, what did you get me?” The man teased as the smile became more sincere and he closed the book that had been open in his lap. Philip wasn’t the type to get excited about Black Friday sales. Or sales at all, truth be told. Discounts and saving money didn’t mean much to him; not considering it was his father’s money he was spending. “Koffee?” He asked with a tilt of his head, referring to his favorite nearby shop. “My treat.”
