Lying spread out on the couch with a cool cloth on his forehead, his blue eyes drifted towards his brother.  “I’m fine,” he assured the larger Valentine.  “Just this heat is getting to me, my body hasn’t acclimated yet.  Even though I’ve been back in Asteria for over a year.”  Of course, Mikael happened to be the most dramatic of all the family members which was saying a lot.  Sitting up, he placed the cloth down on the table.  “What brings you around?”  There was some hint of nervousness in his voice, he wasn’t exactly sure who knew in the family Peter and him weren’t talking and he was aware the other siblings might try to get involved to fix it.  “Where is your pretty little number?  Lydia?  How are things going there?”  He asked.  “And don’t mention my face, Leanne decide to shave my beard and I’m still not over it.”

Phillip giggled "It's okay, I feel that not that California didn't have some heat, but there's a reason I'm always wearing these shirts you think horrendous and is because they keep me cool." He sat next to him and wasn't sure just how to ask his brother about him and Peter or anything else, things at the Valentine family weren't always as clear and chill as people might thought. Phillip couldn't help but blush and smiled at the name "She's great. I just getting anxious that she will get bored of me, for taking things slow, or break up with me for pushing things too much, I'm still trying to figure out how to do the whole relationship thing right, and not get fucked up like last time." The youngest Valentine chuckled and shook his head "Wasn't going too, you look younger, so it looks good. Anyway, what about you how are things with you?"

“I would not be opposed, I do need to work on my tan.  I am looking like a ghost.”  The two headed outside and Mikael settled in one of the lounge chairs to relax as the weed started to take effect.  “Alright, I am not trying to rush you.  And yes I know her, we live in fucking Asteria.  Everyone knows everyone, but still a proper introduction.  And obviously we are going to do a double date.  Oh and maybe a game night,” he said, lighting up.  He’s always wanted to do something along those lines, get a few couples and play games.  “I am doing well, life is alright.  Just feel kind of stuck if that makes sense.”  And the next question caused Mikael to bite down on his lip for a moment as he gave a huge smile.  “Honestly?  It is amazing,” never in a million years did Mikael think it was possible to get over Hector.  In fact, he thought many times about moving back to New York and giving him and Hector another shot.  But then Colton came into his life and it was like the veil had been lifted from his eyes and he realized what a healthy relationship was like.  “Colton is a really great guy, I think you two would get along a lot.”

“It’s summer, we should do that, and you really are looking rather pale, dear brother” He laughed. “Hey, you know actually game night sounds pretty fun, just know that she was a great heart, but there’s a tiny possibility that she might get feisty on her way to win” He giggled. “But I’m sure she will love the idea of a game night.” Phillip was so happy to hear his brother so happy, he has always wanted that from his brother “If he makes you as happy as you look and you sound, you can tell him that he’s my new best friend.” He smiled and poke his brother.

Lydia turned to Phillip and in response, all she said was “I’m buying it when it comes out on DVD.” Even though everyone used streaming services now, she still liked having the hardcopy of things she really enjoyed. “Did you? I saw you looking pretty impressed during that last fighting scene.” She looked at the popcorn bag and realized it was all gone already. Lydia reached for her purse and pushed off the low chair before offering her hand to Phillip as if she could pull his entire body up. “Let’s go take a picture over there!” They were on a rooftop after all so they might as well enjoy it before they had to leave post-movie. Lydia tossed the empty bag into the recycle bin and then walked over to the edge of the building before hopping up to sit on the ledge. She pulled her phone out and waved Phillip over to take a selfie of the two of them. “Say cheese!”

Phillip smiled and nodded “I actually did and now you know that when it comes to superhero movies, I become a child again, but I’m sure you will keep that secret between us.” He took her hand and stood up, following her to the edge of the building, to take the picture, he smiled and repeat her cheese but instead of paying attention to Lydia’s phone he was more focused on how close they were together and how silly he was for overthinking how to kiss her since he had been wanting to since he asked her to date him, so he shut down his insecurities and nerves and before she could tap to take the selfie he kissed her right before she tapped the screen, he smirked and look at the phone to see if it had turned out just how he thought, “I think I have a new profile picture”

“When are you going to learn that all my ideas are good?  And I love the fresh air too, but I prefer to be lounging on the beach working on my tan watching guys play volleyball as I sip on my cocktail.”  Mikael took in a breath as he stood up from his seat, “alright let’s go outside.  Plus Roscoe probably wants to go out too.”  While he gathered the munchies and weed, he was thrilled for his brother.  “If she makes you feel good inside, then she seems like a keeper to me.  When am I going to be properly introduced?  Hey, you’re a great guy Phil and any lady would be lucky to have you. I’m glad you found one genuinely that likes you for you.”  He shrugged, “what about me?”  He asked as he started to head to the backyard.

“Hey that’s still fresh air, actually we should go to the beach someday, even if it’s you getting drunk on margaritas” He smiled and help out his brother and scratched Roscoe's ear as they went outside and sat down on his brother’s backyard. Phillip turned to look at his brother “I will let me have a little more time and we can go have dinner together, I mean it's not like you don’t know her, but we can have a double date or something.” He raised his eyebrow to his brother “You know, how are you? How's life going? how’s your love life?”

“My favorite line is when Donkey finds out that Fiona is an ogre by night and he’s just like C'mon, princess, you’re not that ugly. All right, you are ugly. But you'​re only like this at night. Shrek’s ugly 24/7!” She laughed just thinking about it. Lydia smiled a little more proud when Phillip admitted that tonight would be the first time he tried her favorite food. “Hopefully it doesn’t disappoint. And it if does then you should get your test buds checked.” She poked his bicep and tried not to think about how hard it was or how her finger hurt because it was like pushing against steel. The pout quickly disappeared and was replaced by a smile when Phillip placed the item in her hands. “Okay! I think that’s it. Let’s get going, I’m hungry.” She said and headed for the checkout counter where she paid and forced Phillip to carry all of the bags over to the car. Lydia slipped into the driver’s side and waited for Phillip. “Seatbelt, chop chop. We’re burning daylight.” She started for the restaurant her family loved and got into the drive-thru.

Phillip started to giggle, I really always laugh when he goes "We Can Stay Up Late, Swapping Manly Stories, And In The Morning, I'm Making Waffles!" He smiled and shook his head “I doubt it will disappoint me, I’m pretty hard to disappoint. Especially when it comes to food.” He was not lying there, he had gone from eating everything, to not eating almost anything but green, to just eating diet stuff, to almost not eating much while he was in the streets, to go back to normal now. He couldn’t stop smiling even when he was carrying all the bags to the car, he just kept smiling as he saw Lydia go on her fast exciting version. He put all the things in the back and quickly got in and put on the seatbelt as she told “Okay, you will have to guide me so I know what to ask or you can pick for me, or I’ll get the same as you”

The thing about Lydia and Phillip was that it only took a couple of days for her to relax around him. Phillip was a gorgeous man, but he wasn’t as intimidating as she initially thought all of the Valentine’s were. She was still scared of most of his family though, especially Dylan who had literally threatened her to keep quiet and stay away from his family. She had almost forgotten about the last part of their bargain and slightly froze when she remembered. Had he really meant that? Would he be upset if he saw her with his brother now? Oh god. Lydia missed Phillip’s mouth because she was deep in thought and the popcorn fell to his lap. “Oh, sorry!” She reached to scoop it out of his groin area until she realized where her hands were touching and she pulled away really fast and looked at him surprised. “Sorry.” She said again and straightened out in the lounge chair, looking at the outdoor screen. Lydia nodded at his words. “Yup! No expectations. Like a kid.” She repeated after him, still embarrassed about grabbing at his lap. She couldn’t help but smile when he kissed her shoulder and made her feel like things weren’t as awkward as they sometimes felt. She cringed when people got hurt in the movie and cheered when Wonder Woman did a kickass move and before they knew it, the movie was coming to an end.

Phillip always wondered where Lydia’s mind went when she got lost in time, he could see her hard thinking about something, but still giving her some popcorn to him, so when he was about to eat it, she missed and even when it probably looked little funny for the rest of the people Phillip was to focus to see that Lydia’s had was on his groin and he couldn’t help to blush hard and wildly. They were both embarrassed at first, her for what happened and him, because he happened, she didn’t feel anything weird or that she might have not to like “Don’t worry”. After a while, he realized that silly moment shouldn’t ruin their date so he focused on the fact that they were both grownups and it has been some silly mistake. He saw her get all excited at the movie and smiled, by the time it ends he turned to look at her to hear what she thought about “So, did you like it?”

Callum was exactly sure how he ended up agreeing to help and ended up here. but he decided not to think about and just go with the flow. “My question is how come your boyfriend isn’t here helping us with this? How did he get out of it?” Callum teased. “Maybe I should have gone with that excuse.” He laughed. He looked curiously over at the other two. “Alright, Ill play along, I have no idea what that is, but I’m gonna trust Mik on this one.” he said with a shrug. @mikael-valentine​

“I can’t promise it will be the last time,” Mikael quickly snapped at Phillip in his higher pitched voice unsure about the whole arrangement of the living room.  When he woke up, he had this vision and now none of it was coming to light and they were back and square one.  When Callum piped up, Mikael’s blue eyes glanced over towards the man and he smiled.  “Well first he had to work and two I would have wanted and forgive me for being so forward but I would have wanted to nail him against the couch and we wouldn’t have gotten any work done.”  He chuckled as he shook his head at Callum before looking at his brother.  “Dude wants to get high with us and doesn’t know what we’re talking about.”  He found it all amusing as he nodded.  “Indica it is, we need to chill anyway and don’t need to be paranoid and bouncing off the walls.”  Once they made their decision, Mikael got what they needed and packed it in the pipe and handed it to Phillip for him to start it off.  “Not going to lie Cal, I kind of want to see you high.” @phillip-h-valentine​

Phillip made a face “I will keep that in mind to never sit on this couch when I return to visit you” He was happy for his brother, that he had a good man in his life, but he didn’t want to sit where his brother would bang, or even have the picture of any of his siblings or any member of their family doing it, he was happy that they had a healthy sex life, but that was about it. “Let him be, we are just two potheads that ramble a lot about strains, but that’s really not that interesting, all you need to know is you have one that will help you relax, and one that will make you feel all funny and happy.” He smiled at Callum. “I need to get my Doritos first.” He said walking to the kitchen before they started to smoke and brought more snacks and put some music on “Not that I want to laugh at you or anything like that but Mikael has a point, I’m kind of a little curious too.” @aerocallum

Lydia looked at big Thor like he was crazy. “I know the entire script by heart.” She confessed to him. “The Shrek movies were my favorite growing up.” Phillip’s enthusiasm always encouraged Lydia, he didn’t make her feel like being bossy was a bad thing. He made her feel like they were getting things done in a timely manner. And he always had a way to make things go by more smoothly, like now that he was making a game plan. Lydia nodded and they got to collecting the supplies they needed to continue renovations at Busy Bee. “Have you had Korean barbecue before?” She asked him as she reached for some things on a shelf that was just out of reach. She stood on her tiptoes for it and then pointed at the item and pouted at the tall man with her for help.

Phillip smiled “I can’t say I’m surprised about that, but it was a hilarious movie, and I love that they made it like an anti-fairy tale, and still is very romantic in its weird way” They were working on collecting everything since he did the show, he had worked on working to make the time fit even in the craziest scenarios and since he started working with Lydia he had felt like he could work his skills again to make things go a little faster when they needed them to be. “Actually no, and I have been dying to try it out for very long now, but always for some reason or other and never can’t so today will be my first time.” He smiled and reached out what she was trying to get and gave it to her, his heart warmed out looking at her pout and, at that moment, a strong need to kiss that pout away appeared, but he knew that he had to take things slow if he wanted to make it work between them.

“I know it was my idea, I don’t want to stop smoking.  Just think maybe we should start smoking in the backyard or something.”  Mikael suggested.  He clearly did not want to quit, but he also didn’t want his house reeking of it where everyone knew he was getting stoned.  While he crunched on his cheetos, he raised a brow hearing his brother speak about an actual relationship with the woman.  “She’s cute,” Mikael stated.  “Wow man, that is wonderful and I am happy for you.  If it feels right that means a lot and you should do what makes you happy.”

“That’s also a good idea, you know I enjoy the fresh air” He chuckled “We can take this outside you know, that way your furniture won’t smell like weed for the rest of your life, or until you get tired of it.” Phillip smiled “She’s really different of well you know that woman who doesn’t deserve me talking about her or even mention it. She makes me happy, and I feel like I’m always blushing around her and smiling all the funny time, because I mean it’s not like we say super over heated stuff, but she just makes me feel all warm and good inside like I’m not just someone you can get something from or just something I’m not. She seems to like me for who I really am and find me interesting even when I nerd about boring stuff. But enough about me, what about you?”

The way Phillip was smiling didn’t slip past Lydia, she noticed and was mesmerized by it because he really did like her. Lydia nodded and breathed a sigh of relief when he said the food wasn’t good. “Yeah, it kinda sucked.” She laughed as they headed for one of the home renovation stores across the street. Her eyes widened as he revealed the fact that he was in no rush to end their evening. “Well, I have been wanting to watch Shrek. I saw they just added it to Hulu so maybe we can shop and then get Korean barbecue to-go?” She suggested and pushed through the shop’s door without letting go of his hand. “Okay, here’s a list of things we need.” She pulled out the notes app on her phone and sent him the list via text message. “Let’s get everything quick!”

He laughed and nodded “Yeah it sucked”. Never in million years, he would have guessed that they would spend their first date and valentine day watching Shrek together with Korean food, but he couldn't have imagined anything more perfect and fitting to them “Yes, I haven’t seen Shrek in so long. I love that idea.” Phillip look the list and nodded “Yes, boss” He smirks playfully “okay, so I think let’s start over there, since that aisle has the majority of stuff, we can then move on from there, or just get in line and finish getting things to use the time on our half. And we can be getting our food and watching Shrek sooner.”

“Wow.” He was even more of a nerd than she’d ever been, and that made her smile. Do the outdoor movie night for themselves? Lydia looked at him, unable to hide how happy that made her. She would have to tell Callum all about this date… if he wasn’t still being weird. He was her best friend after all and she needed someone to confide all the juicy details with. Rori had too big of a mouth to say anything to, she’d just tell Phillip how excited she was and try to play cupid. And as for Tony, well, he had a lot going on right now and she didn’t want to rub the butterflies that Phillip gave her in his face because it felt like beating a dead horse. Lydia looked down at her hands and started playing with her fingers as she thought, but then exhaled and looked back to the screen. She tried not to pay attention to anything else and then felt Phillip’s arm rest around her shoulders. She stiffened and then realized that dating Phillip Valentine was one big Fuck You to anyone who thought she wasn’t good enough or pretty enough for him. So she relaxed and grabbed some more popcorn before offering him some. “I heard this movie got mixed reviews, but I like it so far. Wonder Woman is really pretty and also pretty badass.”

“I told you I was a nerd” He laughed and shrugged. This was their second date and he figured he should have told his brother; he didn’t really know they are dating now and they were officially out, but it wasn’t like he was trying to hide it from anyone, he really liked Lydia, he thought he was beautiful, and she was funny but more important it was that she was a good person, he had dated so many bad people that treat him like shit, that this time it felt like whatever he was feeling, it was felt in return. Phillip felt her relaxed and offer him some popcorn and since in his mind people were minding their own business, he let her feed him a few and nodded “Yeah I heard that too, but I love wonder woman, and there’s a lot of trashy people just wanting to make it bad. I, not a fan of reading reviews, I just like to watch them with no expectation and let them amaze me like I’m a kid again, you know?” He giggled “Yeah she’s a badass.it was about time she got a movie” He give her a small kiss on her shoulder and pulled her closer just focusing on the movie, jumping a little whenever an explosion came and holding her a little tighter when some speech got into him.

Lydia stopped dead in her tracks and looked up at Phillip. She looked at the ticket person for a moment and then back at her date before deciding to whisper. She tugged on his hand so he would lean down to her level and she could reach his ear, “You have a comic book collection and didn’t tell me?!” No one said she was good at whispering. They walked over to their seats and settled in, but she couldn’t get over something new that was happening— people were looking at them, they were looking at her with him and probably wondering how in the world someone as handsome as Phillip ended up going on a date with Lydia Kim. Admittedly and for the first time ever, she felt a little self conscious about what she looked like next to the Greek god himself. But it was like Phillip didn’t even notice what was happening. She pressed her lips together and firmly nodded at what he suggested. “That’s a good idea.” She shoved a handful of popcorn into her mouth as the movie started. “Do you think people would actually go?” She asked him, but tried to keep her eyes on the screen. She pulled her hand away from his, still feeling odd because of the stares. “We can start planning it when we get home.”

Phillip laughed and nodded “Yeah I told you I was a nerd, I played D&D and can talk Klingon fluently” He chuckled and look at the ticket person, knowing that they were probably thinking how lame of him. That he was still excited about comic years later. As they walked Phillip didn’t have eyes for anyone but Lydia, “I don’t know but we could try, if they don’t come will know and well we can just do it for ourselves” he smiled, so focused on her, that he didn’t notice anything weird, until the moment Lydia stop holding his hand, she looked little more serious than when they first got there, he looked down trying to collect everything until they were there, looking at the movie but not fully focusing on it, since he was too busy trying to figure out if he had done something bad, As he just couldn’t think about anything bad, he put his arms around her and pulled her a little closer to him.

Lydia snapped her head the second Phillip’s lips left her cheek. She looked up at him as they left the restaurant and her mouth opened to say something, but she couldn’t think of anything witty to counter him with so she shut her jaw and looked straight forward as her shoulders straightened. She thought about his question for another moment and tried to push the thoughts of him kissing her again away. “We’re supposed to buy some stuff for the B&B but if you’re still hungry we can go for some Korean barbecue? I know a place a couple of minutes from here.” She was trying to rack her brain to think about what people were supposed to do on dates… this was a date now,  right?

Phillip just couldn’t stop smiling, even if he was trying to tune down her excitement and happiness, he was just feeling alive, and in a good place. That was something he hasn’t felt in so long and it was part of the reason that he just couldn’t help smiling so much “I think we can buy them and we can then go for the Korean barbecue, because that meal was not really as good as I thought it would be, or at least not for me. And if we have everything now we can do more and not worry about the hour” he said playing with her hand and looking at her, hoping that tonight wouldn't finish any time soon.

Lying on the couch, Mikael stared up at the ceiling forgetting for almost a moment his brother was sitting across from him.  As he sat up and shifted his attention over towards Phillip, he smiled.  “You know, we probably should stop smoking in the house.  People might think I smoke weed if they walk in, because this smell is fucking hard to get rid of,” he admitted.  Mikael reached for his glass of sweet tea and took a sip before moving onto the much needed fiery hot Cheetos that were screaming to be eaten.  With the reddish orange dust covering his fingers, he raised a brow to Phillip.  “Okay, I thought you would be more forthcoming but I saw you and Lydia at the spring break event.  What is going on there?  Please don’t tell me you are following her around like a lost puppy.” @phillip-h-valentine​

Phillip laughed “Dude it was your idea, but okay let’s stop doing it, next time you say it, I will remember this conversation” He kept eating his Doritos as he giggled, but as his brother pop the question he started to blush “Well we are kind of trying out a less boss-employee relationship, and more like a dating kind of relationship. I really like her, I kiss her that night and well it felt right.”

It was obvious that his ex was a sore topic and Lydia was having too good of a time with him to let her nosy attitude ruin everything. She finished off her drink and polished off the pieces of food she liked before leaning back against the seat and looking at Phillip. Lydia patted her stomach, but then sat up straight again. She wasn’t sure how to react to what he was saying and all the reasoning he was making, but it was making her heart thump faster. “I think we… can make that work.” She gave him a little nodded and then reached for her purse, put it over her shoulder, and stood up. “Let’s get out of here and find something more our style.” The food had been too odd and a little lackluster, but she was really just trying to get out of there so Phillip wouldn’t see how bright her cheeks were from blushing at his words. They paid and Lydia made a bold move by sliding her hand into his as they exited the restaurant.

He smiled at her patting her stomach; in all honesty, he could eat a little more but he was not going to say that just yet. He smiled got wider and it was like he couldn’t stop, he was happy, he was probably blushing a little too, but she has agreed on trying out to start dating and that was amazing. “Sounds like a great plan”. The second he felt her hand on his, he looked down and smiled at her holding her tight, he was pretty sure his heart was beating faster than he remembers, and it was making him feel like a teen all over again, but he was enjoying feeling this way, and not sad or sour about everything. Once they were out Phillip look at her give her a little quick kiss on her cheek “Where do you want to go now?”

With his hand on his hip, Mikael stood there tapping his foot against the hardwood floor staring at the furniture Phillip, Callum and him just moved.  “I don’t know,” he whined unsure if this was what he truly envisioned the other day.  “No, let’s move it back.”  He said shaking his head.  As the three lifted the couch for what was probably the tenth time today, because Mikael clearly could not make up his mind they returned the living room to its original state.  “Sorry,” he told the other two looking sheepish.  “Let me get you two a couple drinks after all that moving and then we can light up, because I’m done for the day.  Pretty sure my body was not meant to lift things.”  Mikael then fetched all three of them drinks of their choosing and came back to the living room to settle in.  “What mood are y’all in?  Indica or Sativa?” @phillip-h-valentine​ @aerocallum​

Phillip knew his brother too well to be almost ready to lift the couch the hundred times, while he kept looking at the couch and Callum tried to take a break, he wouldn’t really understand how his brother manage him, his family, and his friends to do this kind of things for him without much trouble, Phillip snort a little annoyed and yet amused about how right he was, he still couldn’t understand how he was doing the same as he was working around Busy Bee on his free day, but it was his brother, and he did offer free weed so that was a good reward. He saw Callum smiling and shaking his head “I hope this is the last time” The three of them pick up the heaviest couch he had a deal with in his life and moved one last time. “You know I’m an Indica kind of guy, but I’ll get whatever the two of you are in the mood of, also do you have snacks around?”   @aerocallum
