Liv loved the festivals in Asteria because she usually went with her family, and it was always nice to spend time together. Today, she and her mom were taking the boys to go look at the boats down in the Marina, and of course, she dressed the boys in the outfits Leanne had picked out for them. She was the best Gigi and always made her grandsons feel so special and important. Holding her phone out, Liv was taking pictures of Leanne, Jake, Finn, and Lucas by one of the coolest boats they had seen so far. “Okay, everyone say cheese,” Liv said, also holding out one of Lucas’ toys to get him to look at the camera. “Perfect, I think we need to frame that one. Now, where to next?”

Seeing Danny, finally laying in that bed safe, she couldn’t help the tears that sprung to her eyes. Imagining a life without him the day before had been heart wrenching. And seeing him now she realized how much she took his friendship for granted. He was always there, when she didn’t need him and when she did. He’d never wavered and he always had a calming presence that she hadn’t realized how much she relied on until she thought she was going to lose it. She didn’t want to disturb him though, worried that he was fragile and any sudden movement could make things worse. So she huddled against the doorway instead until he noticed her there, “Hey buddy, how ya doin?” She said softly.

Jack had decided to try out the Zumba class, deciding that it wouldn’t hurt to learn new exercises that can be done in his apartment. It just added something else that he could try when he became too restless at night. He hadn’t really expected to sweat as much as he had, but it was still a good learning experience. Plus now he could go get a slushie or something to cool down. Once the class had ended, Jack walked up to the person who was in charge. “Hey! I just wanted to say that this was an awesome class to take, it was super fun” Jack said with a grin, holding up a thumbs up.

Dilara sat on yoga mat she had laid out in the grass with everyone else. It was a small hobby she had picked up after her break up with Nate and seeing him earlier flaunting some blonde around had been hard a pill to swallow since she felt like she was planted in the same spot he had left her only last year. She stretched her hand over her head and slightly leaned to the left as her head turned to look over to see Julian standing next to her. “Um.” She cleared her throat as her eyes raised up towards him. “Mr. Morrison.”

Javier sat down on the park bench, turning his head to look over at Toni who was sitting a few inches away from him. “Is it bad I’m not surprised you signed up to be on the softball team?” He had only been in town for a few months but owning the Inkpire with the two tattoo artists that had worked there he had been trying to be more social and get to know them a little better since he was their boss now. He crossed one leg over the other as his tongue brushed along his lower lip. “Are you excited?”

Marcos stretched his arm behind his head as he let his eyes focus on the water in front of him. He had hoped signing up for the sailing competition would make him feel like he was doing something more than moping around the event. He turned his head when he noticed her walking in his direction. Her walking out of his house that morning had caused the biggest fight he ever had with Tia but he couldn’t bring himself to care because all he could think about was how soft her skin had been and how so god damn patient she had been with him. He smirked when she approached him. “Come to cheer me on?”

Jack felt like he was stuck in a nightmare. He had been stuck where he stood for a few minutes, trying to catch his bearings. After he said goodbye to Ash, he had been planning to go back towards the beach, because he knew that’s where some of his family had been. Along the way, he came across the pier, and spotted some people. He chewed on his lip, but came to stop. He should make sure no one was injured here, if he just left without checking he wouldn’t be a good person, especially since he had a basic understanding of how to treat people. “Hey! You ok? Anyone injured?” Jack called out, quickly scanning those around him. He didn’t see anyone obviously injured, but you never knew for sure.

Location: Near the Pier

Everything started to devolve into chaos before Brooke could even try and wrap her head around exactly what had happened. One moment the sailing competition was going on as planned and the next it was as if the ocean itself had suddenly decided it was furious with the entire town of Asteria, NC. Soon reactions of panic, fear, and worry could be heard throughout the area. After spending a moment dumbfounded by the sudden developments, the firefighter snapped into action. A natural event like this was going to cause plenty of destruction and than meant people in need of help. As people started to rush away from the pier, she moved opposite the throng of bodies back towards the origin of the problem. As Brooke attempted to navigate through the people and around debris, something in the water caught her eye. A closer look revealed it was a person or rather two people rather than some random action. Looking around frantically, the firefighter’s eyes landed on some rope tie dangling from what used to be a sign for the festival. Ripping the rope from the shreds of sign, Brooke made her way as close to the water’s edge as possible. “Try and grab this!” She yelled out against the wind and sounds of panicking people on land before tossing one end as far out as she could in their direction.
