He soaked in the moment between them. He took it all in. For a moment, that strong exterior would fall. His more sensitive and loving side taking forefront. The scales always attempted to hide this side. The clingy. The affection. All of it. But something about her forced him to bring it out more often. “I wish I can stay here forever with you…” His words trailed off, pecking her nose softly. 

    Skylar could hear the emotion in his words, and a soft smile made its way onto her features. “ I mean, you could. . . ” she whispered, leaning in to press small kisses along his jawline. “ But, I don’t know how we’d get by then though. . . Instead, we can make the most of today, and tomorrow. . . You don’t have to leave me, for now, love. ”

“I’m off tomorrow. Just me and you, babe.” His head continued to nuzzle her. His hips buckled up to make sure they were as close as humanly possible. “We can do whatever you want. Anything. And as loud.” 

    Skylar couldn’t help but laugh at his words, hands moving up to cup Lawson’s face as she moved in close, pressing her lips to his briefly as he pressed himself to her. “ That sounds.. Great. . . ” she grinned, pressing her forehead to his. “ It’s been far too long, love. . . I wish had days like this more often. . . ”

       “It’s been rough, not gonna lie.” Lawson rubbed the back of his head, ruffling his hair. His hand still rubbed her side lovingly, fingers tracing beneath to graze her flesh. His teeth playfully sunk into her skin, “I am back now. That’s all that matters.”

    A gasp was let out as Skylar relaxed in his grasp, holding him close to her as she straddled his waist. “ True. . . ” she muttered, a quiet chuckle following. “ Do you have to work tomorrow, or do we finally get a day for just us..? I can’t remember when you said you were working. . . ”

    “ I missed you too, ” came the murmur from the girl, eyes closing softly as she smiled, arms wrapping back around him in response to the actions. She took a moment to stay like that, before sitting up in his lap, a momentary scowl crossing her features. “ Where have you been, though? You were meant to be back a few hours ago. . . ”

    “Looks like you need to find one.” Melody usually would sympathize, but being a hard-worker as well as having her food stolen makes her slightly sassy. All her money is well-earned, and all food is for her consumption only.

    Unfortunately she had been trying- it wasn’t as easy as she had thought it would be. There was a lot of competition out there- She wished it was easier. “ I do-- I’ll try. You’ll get your kfc back sometime. ” Maybe not five of them though. That was just a little too expensive.

          “Your hole– you fill. Don’t make Cam do it. Or anyone else. You owe me KFC.” Melody let out a small groan, placing her hands on her hips. She was going to take a stance. If Cameron were to buy her food– it’s only because he owes her, this applies to everyone. Do not force your responsibilities onto others.

    “ I don’t have a job though. . . ” Mayyyyybe it was about time that she actually started looking for one instead of mooching off of others constantly. It would really be a good idea. “ I’ll try-- I may need his help though. . . ”

     Hearing that certain name be uttered by the other, she quickly hung up the phone and stared right into Skylar’s eyes. “I doubt Cam would be happy to spend his money for your mistake. Don’t bring him into this. You dug the greasy filled hole– now you must refill it with the chicken and potatoes.”

    Staring right back at Melody, she gave a small smile. “ If it’s for you- I don’t think that he would mind. Plus it’s also to help his little sister-- I’m pretty sure that he’ll be happy to help me out. ” If not she could probably find something to blackmail Lance with anyway.

      “Huh? Really? Guess I better call my friends back then–” Mel began to type in her phone once more, probably returning a call to the cops. A deal was made, and already it was broken. Sad. “It’s ringing.”

    “ Don’t do that! ” She leaped for the phone once again- Desperate. Mel was serious, she could tell based on the ringing again. “ I’ll get Cam to buy you kfc or something- I promise you’ll get it back somehow! Someday! ”

     “The cops hung up on me and told me to not call again–” Mel sighed, rubbing her temples, resulting in letting Skylar stumble due to no more restrictions. “You owe me five more buckets of chicken and about five containers of mashed potatoes and gravy.”

    Stumbling forward she caught herself after a moment, looking over to Melody. Unfortunately she didn’t have a job-- How she was going to pay for this- She had no idea. “ I-- That’s expensive. I don’t have the money for that. ”

      “Sky– I’m on the phone. Please behave.” Even though Melody was smaller than most, she made up for it with some upper arm strength. Once Skylar was close enough, she used her arm to push her back, never even bothering to use her hand for precaution reasons. “Yes. She stole my KFC. Ate all of it. I think she deserves life in prison for this heinous crime.”

    “ I am behaving-- You don’t call the police over kfc. I told you i’ll buy you more! ” Honestly Melody’s strength always amazed her- That wouldn’t stop her from trying though. “ Mel please- I won’t ever take it again- Promise. ”

      “It was you. Stop lying. I smell your smell mixed with the grease.” Melody swiftly pulled out her phone, dialing a number rather quickly. “Yes, 911– I’d like to report a crime. Someone stole my KFC.”

    Cue a quite scream and her reaching to try and take the phone from the smaller girl. “ Mel please-- I’ll buy you more- I didn’t know it was yours! Promise! ” It would have made sense though-- Too bad she had been preoccupied with the fact that it was kfc.

      “No– it was not him.” She examined the KFC bucket, noticing a long strand of hair in it, as well as the scent of the person she was talking to. She was no fool. She spent years perfecting how to tell who stole her food. “It was you–”

    Busted. But that didn’t mean that she wouldn’t keep up the charade- Melody was important to her and they hadn’t met up in a while- She couldn’t lose her friend now. “ It was Lance I swear- Would i really do that to you? ”
