Final Pop Up Shop Workshop

Today I completed the pop up shop workshops and the hive business workshops and they were great.

I learnt so much about business and about how to start up.

I learnt about having a clear brand story and having a clear customer.

I met loads of great people too so feel like I’ve made some great contacts.

I am not ready for my pop up show and need to get onto social media and look into PR and marketing and promoting my business which is very exciting.

I may have a logo sign and also hang up 1 to 2 of my prints

Playing around with composition and packaging posibilites.

I am going for a grey background theme for my brand photos so I want to keep my product photos succint throughout.

Testing out my products in working order.

As working centrepieces, wall tiles, coasters and jewellery.

I don’t like the blue tiles with my tiles ad they distract and just don’t go very nicely colour wise, maybe a great or black would be better.

Planning composition and working with layout,I am liking the less is more approach in the bottom right image.

Playing around with photography again, working with layering textures, detail and colour.

Trip to yorkshire sculpture park at the weekend, collecting a mix of inspiration inducing this amazing marble sculpture, I love the curves and can just imagine a smooth tactile egg design working perfectly as an anti stress egg, the curves are calming alone.

Think - Cobden Chambers

Meeting with Think as part of the hive.

Today I attended a meeting as part of the hive which was all about setting up for a retail pop up shop.

I was the only student out of 22 to turn up which was to my advantage because I got full one to one feedback.

I took some of my example products to show and got some great feedback and will be attending the summer business workshops and the pop up shop in September. I am also going to talk to a few other creative in industry who would be interested in showcasing some of my work in a range of indepdnat shops in Nottingham such as ‘Made in Nottingham’. In the meantime I have been advised in looking at packaging design for my products and how I would see my work displayed.
