This was the Phoedeltacy ask that I never responded to, I am so sorry about that, I was actually (coincidentally) just talking in DMs about them. But I will ramble on as much as I can about my boys so!!

These are them!! From left to right, that's Phoenix (Phoe) Ironbane, Delta Aquamarine, and Percy Farina, though I'll of course call them Phoe, Delta, and Percy during this! They're the main characters of Volume 1 of my collaborative project Squid Prince (which is a HEAVY work in progress because we're simultaneously working on V2 whilst rewriting V1), a project I work on with @parateuthis and have done so for years!

Technically speaking, these three can be considered the "main characters" of V1, but, like. They've got friends and I think they count.

Phoe is a changeling fae - Delta's a squid (THE squid prince) - and Percy's a half-novestis, which is an alien species, but I think you can tell that they're catboys. <3

I don't really know where to go with this so you know what? You get me just going on about them I guess because the first volume is like 60+ arcs long and I'm not putting you through that.

Me rambling is going to be under the cut:

So, how they met first. When he was 14, Phoe ran away from home, and after I think a month or something he came across this cave by the sea. Coincidentally, this other guy (Delta) was also there, but for wildly different reasons. Delta hadn’t run away from home, but due to a magical artifact he lost his memory and doesn’t even know that he’s a squid. Him and Phoe become friends (?) from there and the two of them go to a nearby small town, where they meet Percy (just a human at this time, chilling with a fishing rod), and end up staying with him until the kingdom’s area is built and shit. I’m not getting into detail with like, the whole plot from here.

In terms of crushes. Delta had a crush on Phoe and Percy shortly after they met. After things settled down and stuff, that’s where Percy comes in. And for Phoe, I’d like to think that he always held those feelings, but because of the war and other stuff going on he didn’t focus on it until later. Shortly after Phoe recognized those feelings was when I think they all asked each other out.

OK NOW THAT THAT’S DOWN! PDA! Because Parateuthis and I were talking about this and why the hell not. It’s mostly like. Physical displays, stuff like cuddling or hugging at any time, holding hands. Though a lot of the time I think a casual thing would be joking around with one another. In the canon V1 story at least, they are busy, but they try to show it any way they can when they aren’t.

You can keep asking questions but before I end this ask. A little tidbit I wanted to bring up from V2. Which, you’re wondering, V2? V2 focuses on another cast of characters, because at V1 the world ends and I’m not explaining the supernatural and whatever reasons behind this because it’s like, the last few arcs, but due to some soul stuff Phoe “exists”, albeit in an othergodly crystal, in V2. He acts as a sort of occasional guide and mentor to the main character in V2, Blake, Blake “enters” the core and Phoe is there in a crystalspace of sort. Something about the crystalspace is that, if a person from V2 world enters the space, their last soul version from V1 is there for reasons. Course, Blake and Phoe figure this out partially by accident, and Blake brings in two of his friends who just so happen to be the incarnations (in a way) of Percy and Delta. They show up, and Phoe can’t believe his eyes, neither can they. There’s zero hesitation before they hug, they’re crying. It’s not a...permanent reunion, they can’t stay in there forever, in the end they’re just souls from another time, but I think for that moment they were still at home and still breathing together.
