I’ve been reading PJO for a little over a decade now and it’s kind of wild how my cringy 12 y/o self didn’t ever make an oc for it, so here she is!

She’s Javanese from her mom’s side and her mom loves silly names.

I can’t find it anymore but in the 8th grade I wrote a short Percy Jackson rip-off for English class about Indonesian monsters seeping into the human realm and the very gay main characters had to consult with the river god in order to be granted passage into the Underworld where they would confront Rangda about why the monsters are freely roaming about. The thing is I’m not sure if Indonesia even has an underworld but I’m open to revisiting this concept in the future.

When I find the time (hopefully after finals) I’ll draw what the characters looked like in my brain <3

I picture Maggie with the cutest big ole down-turned(?) eyes and rlly cute-looking. Also lips perfect for Alex's smooches.

For Sam's hijab style, I went with one I see most commonly worn by teens in my country. I think it's very cute on her, but I'm not sure how it would be practical so in future Sam art, I'll probably experiment with diff styles and see what sticks.

I think Alex is the most similar to the book descriptions and official art here tbh, but I love the idea of her having a few moles, bigger hair and thicker brows. Also maybe slightly taller than Maggie.

but I'll make a separate post where they're all full body and their heights are according to what I imagine !

I'm gonna be fr I created Sini and Sana as a way to vent about my massive crush on this guy at Uni, and because I'm a chronically online artist, I made my feelings and delulus into OCs to try and make it less obvious. I'm dumping everything out here because he asked me out and we're official now so.

They're still my ocs and in an entirely different world in my brain; detached from me and my (now) boyfriend, some of the scenarios are just based off real life.

Alright so these are my OCs named Sini (left) and Sana (right). One evening I was in the shower and this song I used to sing a lot with my friends as a kid popped up in my head. It's an Indo children's song

Disini senang, di sana senang, dimana-mana hatiku senang. (meaning; over here I am happy, over there I am happy, everywhere my heart is happy).

And for some reason my brain thought of this super cute queer college romance between two Indo art students (though I'm not sure what type of art they'd be majoring in) with polar opposite personalities. Quiet vs Feral type beat.

speaking of things I was unhealthily obsessed with as a child.

I didn't actually read it in its entirety when I was younger, and am currently reading it through the unofficial archived version. So far, I'm like-- this is so dumb but not in a completely bad way.
