Bordeaux
First illustration assignment of the year! We had to draw a postcard about Bordeaux, and actually write to our teacher on it.

Day 9: Bordeaux
The air smells like cigarettes, kids are drinking wine in the park, the police are on segways, and I am very happy :)… despite my lack of smiling in that selfie. Sad to be leaving tomorrow.
Went to a wine tasting this morning… It think I had about 12 glasses of wine before 10:30… woops. BUT, if I had never done that, I would have never of been crazy enough to go to Gordon Ramsay’s Bordeaux restaurant for lunch (which is also where that selfie was taken… I look a bit stiff but oh well). It was delicious. I had this foie gras with an assortment of fruits and jellies, and it was like eating meat butter. It had the same flowers on the plate that I had last night, and they’re just amazing. I don’t even know how such a little flower can have so much flavour.
But yeah, after that I just chilled and walked around. There’s so much beauty here, and so much life. Something about this place just makes you feel alive. Everyone is so happy and interesting… there’s a certain appreciation for absolutely everything.
Euro2016 starts tomorrow, so things are getting a bit crazy (some guys are singing outside my hotel window right now). Wishing the best to France, but I’m rooting for Spain :D
Off to Lyon tomorrow :)

Day 7 & 8: Lost/ Bordeaux
Aight, so funny story. I definitely missed my bus to Bordeaux. Turns out it left at 2:30am, and I showed up at 2:30pm. Woops. Either way, managed to find another bus that took me there.
BUT, once I got there, oh my god. Bordeaux is amazing. France is awesome. Everything is beautiful and stunning and peaceful and every good adjective out there. It’s also very French… and not Canadian French :s
The movie theatre is beautiful… like… it’s amazing. I wanted to see The Neon Demon, but it’s dubbed in French :( and dubbing is the devils work. I also got 2 Gucci ties for 30 euro x) which was ridiculous. There was this Dior/Gucci liquidation sale, and I wish I brought at least 100 more euros with me at the time… like… it was crazy. The shirt pictured is Dior (was usually around 500 euro on for 150 or something)… didn’t get it, but whatever.
Went to cafes, chocolate shops, mustard shops, Louis Vuitton, the waterfront, and a uber fancy restaurant (I think a French soccer player was sitting beside me, but I’m really not sure, some people were asking for autographs n stuff).
Everyone rides bikes here and I love it. Also, people just seem to drive wherever… but I’m sure I’ll figure out how that works eventually. So, yeah, loving it here :) I did plenty more, but I don’t want to ramble for paragraphs about each amazing thing. Just go to Bordeaux. Do it. Shop. It’s worth it.
Also, I’m not sure how French girls do that thing that they do, but they definitely do it.
EDIT: OH OH OH, and there’s this MASSIVE store in the middle of the city filled with art books, movies, albums, other books, etc… and I think there’s a good chance it’s my favourite store in the world. It’s started with an M… I’ll have to go back tomorrow and get the name. Or Google it. (Second edit: It’s called Mollat)
