Jazz took the vent as a bad thing, turned around and changed the subject. “Got a place to stay? I know you’re new ‘round here or somethin’ so I’unno if ya got somewhere to crash. It’ll take awhile for the paperwork to arrive and be filled out and reviewed, an’ all that fun stuff.”

A bit confused on the subject change, Ambulon shrugged. "Um, I could find a place... It can't be that hard." He's heard that sometimes mechs and femmes would take credits from anyone. That was probably stretching it, but if he was claiming to be neutral, it'd be more likely.

Verse 2 - TFA

Ambulon was a Decepticon 'Ward Manager'. Trained as a medic, the supposed gestalt mech was put out when they wouldn't let him do anything asides from being, well, the butler of the medbay, to put it nicely. It went like that for stellarcycles, until he was sent to Chaar.

There, he met the DJD (horrible fraggers!), Team Chaar (briefly. Strika just yelled at him about worthless fraggers not worth saving.), and an Autobot traitor: Pharma.

Pharma was twisted; Ambulon knew that from the beginning. He had patience and the background of a Knight of Cybertron, so he didn't flinch when Pharma first thrust his chainsaw servos into his face.

It was three stellarcycles later until "The Accident", heavy air quotes there.

He was caught repairing someone he wasn't supposed to. He wasn't supposed to be repairing anyone, period, but he was repairing an autobot, of all cybertronians.

Pharma 'tripped', and cut him in half, length wise. He had blacked out, only to online again a few megacycles later.

He left the 'Cons after another stellarcycle.

"Chainsaws huh? Well, I tell ya what. Ya see this fragger again, or one ends up in this ‘verse, you come to me. I’ll put ‘im in his place. Didn’t get to my position by doin’ nothing." Jazz straightened up, but didn’t lose that smile. "And for the record, not always beat t’ slag. Pretty tough for a skinny fragger." 

He snorted a chuckle, “sometimes my visor glitches though - end up slammin’ int’ a wall. Nearly broke my faceplates last time. She just gets tired o’ seein’ me. Bet you wouldn’t though.”

As soon as the word left Jazz's mouth, Ambulon twitched. "Um, right..." He agreed, nodding a bit. "I'm rather patient, so I doubt I'd get tired of seeing you as quickly as most others. It's probably why I didn't defect sooner." He vented lightly.

Ambulon is canon for MTMTE/IDW up to him dying. He doesn't die. Somehow, miraculously, he survives being cut in half by Pharma. He has a crush on Pipes.
