I am a college student. Loyal, kind, and generous to those who have gained a place in my life. Trust is something that does not come to me naturally, and I tend to be paranoid and disbelieving, so bare with me if I seem unresponsive or distant. My views and opinions are up for discussion, but please be respectful. I welcome all questions and comments. So feel free to ask and post! I will be as honest as I can. Hello World. I’m still alive.

So it has been a while since I last made a post. So here’s what has been going on:

I have recently begun grad school and am working towards my masters in Accounting. I am on track to graduate this coming December, provided I get grades this year.

I am taking full time grad classes, and also working full time and loving it! If I were doing this before Entyvio, I would probably have been hospitalized multiple times.

I have been on Entyvio for almost three years, and have only had one bad flareup that crippled me for about a year (I’m hoping to be be on the tail end of it right now).

I have been working about 9 different jobs throughout the year in order to have a steady inflow of cash for bills and expenses.

I got a new car this past summer after my ‘96 Volvo started to take up residence at the shop more than at my home.

My life is slowly coming together, and I am beginning to hit the “There aren’t enough hours in the day” and don’t get everything done that I want to do, but so be it.

What people don’t understand about crohns.

As a recent crohns sufferer I’ve noticed all the problems which come that are not all about the bathroom.

Yes. Stomach pains and bathroom breaks are a nightmare, including pain when eating food (when you love food!) but there so much more that no one gets!

Arthritis pain (which I had already before being diagnosed)

The throat sores, sore gums

The chest pains and burning sensations

The eye sores, itchyness and pain in the eyes (which is bad when you have make up on!)

The gut pain

The extreme tiredness, fatigue

Sickness feeling

Weight loss

The abscess (my pelvic abscess is a pain in the ass! - literally!) 😂

An so on! People don’t see of feel the struggle so they don’t really know what daily life is like!

Week 2

Today I get the second infusion. If all goes well, then I see my doctor and order more doses and wait six weeks for the next dose! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone by, but I have felt great these last couple of weeks.

My cramps are gone, and I have felt more energetic recently. I hope everyone else finds a treatment that works this well for them!!

Update Entyvio

I got my first infusion of Entyvio today, and the good news so far is there is no negative reaction to it!!

Though now I am a little tired since they gave me 2 benedryl to lessen a reaction in advance, in case there was one.

Excited

The time is almost here. I get my first infusion for Entyvio tomorrow. My doctor has me on a low fiber diet to see if it helps lessen the cramps I’ve been getting. But after a year after hearing about Entyvio, I am finally getting it. Update tomorrow after the infusion!

Tomorrow is the all liquid prep for my yearly colonoscopy. I have already snapped due to the directed diet restrictions that I follow. Does anyone else have to go through a diet restriction in the week before a colonoscopy?

14 Days

Time for the countdown. 14 days until my first infusion of Entyvio! I'm so excited to see how it works. My yearly colonoscopy is in 8 days, then I take a trip to Maine for the weekend. This is looking to be a great month!

Update On Life

Okay! It has been close to 6 months since I graduated. I have finished editing my teaching portfolio, and am ready to submit it. I have been working as a homebound tutor for my local school district, and love all of it! I prefer the smaller teaching groups over a full classroom, and have started looking at graduate schools for accounting as a backup plan. Meds have been delivered to the doctors office from accredo pharmacy, after fighting with CVS caremark since November. This is all thanks to the people at excellus blue cross blue shield. They took the time to fight and find a way to get me the medication the doctor wants me on. I spent the last week and will spend all this weekend dog sitting. I love it when I get to dog sit. Both dogs are extremely playful, and a joy to have. It has been nice to help deal with the stress of everything. Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all of you out there. Be safe and stay healthy.

Entyvio meds have arrived at the doctor’s office! My first infusion is scheduled for June 15th!

Got a call from Accredo, and it looks like they were getting things together so that Entyvio can be shipped to my doctor’s office as soon as they get it.
