Been a minute.
An independent and selective 21+ portrayal of Sam Winchester. MDNI.
“Welcome to the land of the livin’, college boy.”
10.01 - BLACK
I think I may ask @piesofthetigers to move in with me.
He would love that. Just say the word.
*She hugged him tightly. Gazed into his eyes.* Pies.
Dean allows himself to hold her tightly, enjoying the smell of her floral shampoo. “And you.”
Maxine Fortenberry… No, I’m not interested in taking you home.
Someone come get this woman.
Bon Temps ain’t so bad of a town.. perhaps he wouldn’t mind staying here permanently. It would sure help keep the vampire population from taking over.
He may or may not be missin’ @mustbethursday on the road.
She may or may not have pie waiting for Dean when he gets here.
Dean finally makes his way back to the lonely road that leads to Sookie’s house. . . The low rumble of Baby’s engine could be heard from the distance.
*He had called her and let her know he was on his way. So she had started their dinner and a nice Dutch Apple pie for desert.
As she heard Baby pulling in the driveway, she pulled the fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese with bacon crumbles on it, broccoli.. for her. Lemonade and she was pulling out the warm pie. The dinner table was set.
Dean missed his little blonde waitress as much as he missed pie…
As the door swung open to the kitchen and the smell of southern food began to seep into his nose, Dean allowed himself to relax. This was where he felt most home. Perhaps it was just Sookie… she was home. “Is this where I say, Lucy I’m Home? Or is it too cheesy?” @mustbethursday
*Sook heard the door. Her smile already began forming before a word was said. Those footsteps were so familiar.* It's not too cheesy. You're just in time for dinner. That is if you still want dinner that is? *
She didn't mind him calling this home. Nor would he ever have to leave if he wanted to. Unless of course he was hunting. But then he lived in Kansas.*
Welcome home, Ricky. Sit down. Dinner's ready. *She laughed.* You don't have to eat the broccoli. I made that that for me. *She took the seat next to him and placed her napkin on her lap.* So how was your last hunt?
Dean hung his brown jacket over the hook that displayed across the door. There was a certain ease that lifted from his broad shoulders, one that Sookie seemed to lift from his troubled soul. Once he was sat down and relaxed, a satisfied him left his mouth. “Christ, I sure missed your cookin’, sweetheart.” Dean wiped his mouth after swallowing, letting his lips linger a kiss over her cheek in approval. “It was exhausting. Took down a wendigo in southern Indiana… tough guy too. Both Sam and I nearly got our asses kicked…”
@mustbethursday
*As Dean hung his jacket, she came from behind and hugged him tight kissing his back.* I missed you. *When they sat down, she heard his compliment about missing her cooking and she shook her head.* It ain't my cooking, Dean. It's Gran's recipes. I just follow the directions.
*The timer had gone off.* Oh hold on, I almost forgot. *She shimmied of her seat and went to her kitchen and came out with fresh biscuits from the oven.* Now, these are hot.. so be careful.
I don't quite know what that is, but it sure sounds dangerous. You look a little beat up. I can take care of those cuts for ya later. After desert. *She used her fingers to caress his hair pushing it up to see his injuries. Pulling back she took a bite of her food.* Today has been a nightmare.
Dean inhaled the mouth watering scent of the biscuits, his stomach grumbling in protest. Oh, how he missed this. Greasy diner food is good and all… but nothing beats Sookie’s homemade cooking. He leaned into her touch, even if it was something as minuscule as looking at his cuts and wounds. “Ah,” he said, biting into his food. “Somethin’ you don’t ever wanna run into, sweetheart.” He swallowed, taking a drink of the sweet tea she had out.
“Why, do I need to kick someone’s ass?”
@mustbethursday
You look happy to be here. Or at least comfortable? I hope that is something I can make things for you here. *He was definitely enjoying her food. Gran would have been proud of her. Entertaining not only friends, but meeting new people. It was something Gran loved about Sook. She was careful with her heart.
When she met Dean at Merlotte's it was practically rejoiced as he was human.* You know it's too bad you and Sam couldn't meet Gran. She woulda loved you. Not sure about the huntin' part. She believed all creatures were God's creatures. Even the vampires. I mean I believe some vampires are good. But you know that. I have asked you to not kill my friends and you agreed. Which I am grateful for.
*While they ate she smiled at him.* You know I missed you. But no, you ain't gotta kick nobody's butt. It's just a regular day at work. I got everyone at work givin' me garbage cuz they like my butt. I can hear them in their head. Sometimes I hate being a telepath. I will never find love or get married unless it's a vampire. That and a guy grabbed my butt. But it happens everyday. So it's normal
*She stood up and began taking the dishes to the kitchen and grabbing the pie, desert plates, forks and the pie cutter.* Now it's time for pie. Do you want ice cream with it? I have vanilla, chocolate, mint ice cream or chocolate chip.
Dean eventually finished his plate of food, leaving only remnants of his used napkin as proof. He already felt full, though when there was pie involved, it seemed he always had room for seconds… probably even third. Listening to her talk so fondly of her grandma, the hunter felt a pang of nostalgia over it. He never had a normal family, and John Winchester was more of a drill sergeant than a father on his good days. Bobby, however, would love Sookie. “Listen, I would’ve loved to meet her. If she’s anything like your brother or your friend Tara, I already know I would consider ‘em blood.”
Dean meant that. There was never any reason to lie around Sookie. He arched a brow, feeling his hunter instinct rising just above his normal expression. “Need me to kick their ass? I will.” Following his words with a wink, he grinned ear to ear at the mention of pie. God’s best work.
“Ah, that’s a dilemma. Gimme vanilla… I wanna still enjoy and savor the pie.” @mustbethursday
Gran was a woman that said I was like Granddaddy. We were special. Our powers made us who we are. Granddaddy kept my uncle from hurting himself. He just knew what he was gonna do. But then *She paused, turned away and got off her chair, went to the kitchen, and came back with the ice cream.* Vanilla it is.
You should come over for movie night. Curl up on the sofa under a blanket with melty pint of ice cream. It's fun. *She took a bite of her pie and her ice cream.* This turned out so much better than I had expected it would.
And no you don't have to kick anybody's butt for grabbin' mine. I'm used to it. It happens everyday.
“That just means you’re special, Sook. Believe it or not, a few years ago I had a run in with fairies and it was horrible. They weren’t like you… they were mean and tricky! Got me arrested and Sammy covered it glitter.” Granted, it was funny now. It felt good being back here, sitting at the kitchen table and semi normal conversation. Swapping stories and just enjoying her company.
He grabbed a scoop of ice cream and plopped it along the top of the pie. “I didn’t have any doubts, sweetheart.” He hums happily, savoring the delicious taste. At the mention of a movie, the hunter arched a brow and shook his head in agreement, mouth full of pie. “What kinda movie we thinkin’?”
At the mention of pesky people at work, Dean merely sighed and took another happy bite. “Don’t worry, if I’m there and I catch’em treating you like that… it won’t be pretty. You’re too nice, but you know I adore that about you.”
*She listened as he spoke of the faeries he had a run in with his brother Sam. She took his hand.* I am so sorry about those faeries. They sound much like the Dark Faeries. They have a tendency to wreak havoc. They attempted to take over Faery from me and the other Faeries. It was a nightmare battle. We would have lost the battle and my life had it not been for Eric Northman. That's why I asked you not to kill him. He saved my life. And I am sure he will again and again.
*She smiled at the mention of movies.* Well, I like Rom coms, comedies, and some dramas. But I am willing to watch other types of movies.
*She laughed at him being at Merlotte's. You can't be there everyday I'm at work, Dean. You don't live here. You're always on the hunt. You live in Kansas. *She paused and took his hand.* How about when you are here at Merlotte's you can take care of the handsy men. Deal? *She raised her brow and smiled slightly.*
Dean smiled as Sookie spoke. Being on the road for nearly 360 days of the year was tiresome and not to mention lonely. Would Sookie ever consider going with him one day? Meeting Bobby, Jo…. Hell, maybe even Cas. That was crazy talk, right? She was his home away from home… no matter what. He grabbed her hand and intertwined their fingers, her smaller ones fitting into his beautifully. “I can do chick flicks, jus’ don’t tell Sammy or I’ll deny it.” Dean was joking; in all seriousness, he honestly didn’t mind watching any movie with her. “Maybe nothin’ with vamps, please…” he shrugged, exposing his disdain for Eric.
“Deal’s a deal, now… how about that movie, sugar?”
@mustbethursday
*Sookie watched him as he was deep in thought. Most women would think he was just a dumb jock in high school. That was is he ever went to high school. The way he had spoken about his traveling time with his dad and Sam learning about hunting. She leaned in on her hand and smiled at him.* So were you the quarterback in the school? My brother Jason was. Still holds the longest passes today.
*Just then Jason burst in the front door. "Hey, Sook... 'Oh, dinner smells great! Can't wait to... " He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Dean sitting at her dinner table smiling and eating her food. "And just who are you sittin' at my sister's dinner table eatin' her food?" He stood next to Sookie. The Faery Queen stood and placed and her hand on his shoulder.* Jason, darn it. You can't just come bargin' in here every time you want me to cook for you. Plus you're interrupin' my date. *He looked at her with her mouth open. "I am the man of the house here Sookie." He poked his thumb in his chest. Sookie took her stance pointing to him.* Jason Stackhouse! This is MY house! Gran left it to me. You have Mama and Daddy's house. I am the man.. well woman of this house. So you be polite to my guest. *Pausing she crossed her arms under her breasts.* What would Gran think of you right now?
*Calming down, she turning to Dean, she smiled.* Dean, this is my quarterback brother. Who right now is being dumb as a box of hair. Jason, this is my "friend" Dean. He stays here when he is town. He's a hunter of vampires and other supernatural creatures. He's got a brother named Sam. He's a good man and he is.. guess what.. HUMAN, Jason. There, you know everything you need to know. But if you would like to eat, you can clean up the dishes, because Dean and I are gonna watch a movie and eat some ice cream. *Turning to Dean, she moved to the kitchen and grabbed the chocolate ice cream, two spoons, a comedy and the blanket.* Come on, let's watch a movie.
“If I would’ve had a normal life, oh yeah. I would’ve played football or basketball when I was younger, dated a pretty blonde cheerleader, and been the king of the high school… though it just doesn’t pan out that way.”
His life had always been about hunting and keeping the world safe. That’s all he knew… that’s all Sam knew. Dean was lucky enough to have gotten his GED. Before he could say anything else, Jason busted through the door, making the hunter inch toward his gun. He always kept it close, just in case of danger lurking around the corner. He arched an amused brow, watching the tanned man intrude on their ‘date.’ “Trust me,” Dean said, standing up to shake Jason’s hand. “This is the safest your sister has ever been.” He nodded carefully, allowing his hand to rest along the small of Sookie’s back as they walked into the living room. “Your brother always like that?” He whispered playfully.
*She watched as Jason actually began cleaning the dishes and came out with a platform of his own plate of pot roast and baked potatoes, baked beans and broccoli. "Mmm Mmm Sook. This is real good. Where are the biscuits? Oh wait they must be in the oven keepin' warm." As they sat on the couch, she smiled as the DVD slid in and Jason talked to her with no expectations of her replying.*
You'll like this movie. It's funny. I picked put a comedy. Don't you worry. There ain't no vampires in it.. *As they snuggled under the blanket she laughed at his question and waved her hand.* Yeah he's always like that. *Taking a spoonful of ice cream Sookie put it in her mouth.* I'm as safe with Jason as I am with you. He is probably overprotective. But he can be a dog and like I said. *She turned to look back smiling.* Dumb as a box of hair.
Dean rested against her petite frame, giving it a gentle squeeze as the movie started to play. The glow of the screen illuminated their faces. Grabbing her spoon, he took a small bite of the ice cream, savoring the sweet and savory flavors.
“Don’t tell me your brother is crashing our date,” he joked, a playful smile tugging at the corners of his lips as his gaze fell to the screen. “Hell, if he needs someone, I’m sure I can get my friend Jo here to double date. He’s definitely her type.”
As he spoke, Dean glanced sideways at her, curious about her reaction. The idea of intertwining their lives with friends had a certain appeal, and it felt normal, like they were just everyday humans, but he also felt a flicker of protectiveness over their time together.
@mustbethursday
*Sook loved being in Dean's arms. Perhaps she may ask him to move from Jason's old room into her's. Which was Gran's old room. She'd left her old room exactly the same. After they had been seeing one another for about six months. But Dean wasn't there long enough each time for him to sleep in the same room. They really hadn't taken their relationship to the next level. She'd been hoping to change that tonight. Until Jason walked in.
Leaning her head back to face her brother upside down.* Jason, you're like Pavlov's dog. I make food and you show up. *He stopped with a biscuit in his mouth. "Are y'all on a date, Sook? Do ya want me to leave?" He pointed at them. She rolled her eyes.* Well, would you like me to come over while you and Violet were together? *He nodded. "Right, right. I gotcha. I'll see ya later. Nice meeting ya, Dean. Be good to ma sister." The door closed.
Her head flipped back up.* Sorry about him. But Jo would probably fit him just fine. *She laughed. As they watched the movie and ate the ice cream, Sook looked up at Dean.* I have a question. Would you like to sleep in my room tonight?
The banter between Sookie and Jason made the hunter miss his own brother at that moment. Oh, how he longed for simplicity at times. A beautiful woman to come home to every night, and enjoy the warmth and love she had to offer. Her question nearly caught him off guard, his emerald eyes still focusing on the chocolate-colored ones staring back at him.
Of course, he's thought about this. Every time they’ve gone out, had dinner, and come back. However his hunt always seemed to get in the way. He’s no dog, honestly a perfect gentleman if you squint. Dean blinks, lays the bowl of ice cream down, and takes her hand. “I mean… only if you’re comfortable with it.” He replied truthfully, knowing if she wanted she could read his mind. Dean had nothing to hide. Not around her. His heart thumped loudly in his chest, giving her dainty hand a gentle squeeze.

The motel walls were covered in cobwebs, their vanilla colored paint now dulled with age and neglect. Dean yawned loudly as he walked through the doorway, his heavy eyelids fighting to stay open as he squinted at the open curtains illuminating the small room. “Christ it’s too early..”
The hunter rubbed a hand down his face, feeling the stubble that had grown overnight. With a grunt, he motioned towards the dingy coffee machine, its surface sticky and stained.
Hand darting towards a styrofoam cup as he looked over his shoulder, noting the other. “Mornin’,” the hunter grumbled after a moment, his voice gravelly. “….Where is Sammy?” He added with a brow arch, pouring a generous scoop of off-brand coffee grounds into the filter.

Andie sighed as she tugged at her restraint. She hated being tied up. Especially by her arms and wrists. It only reminded her of a moment in time when she thought dying would be her only peace. She kept her cool, though, not needing or wanting to alarm him. He's liable to kill her.
She chuckled dryly at him, running her tongue over her teeth. "You're a comedic genius." She says, leaning back against the headboard again. "You already did the ritual. Is the restraint necessary?" Andie asked, tugging at the rope again.
@piesofthetigers
Dean shrugged nonchalantly, blinking in response. You couldn’t be too careful in his life of work, especially with how vulnerable his brother has been in the past with others.
He inhaled through his nostrils and acted as if he was deep in thought, lips pursed. “I mean, we could’ve killed you. I’d consider this an upgrade, she-devil.” The hunter tossed the empty cup away in the garbage bin directly behind him, noting a couple of bottled waters sitting along the side. He wasn’t entirely awful… “Yes or no, are you thirsty?”

“That’s what they call a vicious cycle…” Dean replied, letting his beer rest gently between his hands. “Even more vicious when you try to break it.”
Caroline hummed in agreement as she took a sip from her apple cider before placing the bottle on the table.
"So what's your story?"
“Name’s Dean,” he replied openly, elbows resting against the wooden surface. “Not a lot to tell at the moment… noticed this town had a nice bar joint and decided to stop in for some alcohol and somethin’ greasy.” Well, it’s sort of the truth… “You?”
"I'm Caroline and I'm the owner of this bar Jasper Dragon Inn & Tavern. Opened it when I was ninteen,"
Caroline answered as she took a sip from the cider before nodding a greeting to one of the waitress's before looking back at Dean.
“Well, nice to meet ya Caroline.” The hunter nodded thankfully, letting himself take another sip of the beverage between his hands. “Nineteen, huh. That’s pretty young. You make a decision to open it yourself or was it passed down?”
