Astgenne the Lightchaser's profile has an interesting little nugget of information, explaining why she snuck into the Court seeking a map:

Turns out Kjerag doesn't have a publicly available map of the nation... I'd heard from Muelsyse about the local religious institution's monopoly on knowledge, but I didn't think it went so far as to deny access to maps.

Apparently, the Vine-Bead Court had a ban on maps.

This gives us yet another reason why the Court hated Olafur and Enciodes: setting up a train network requires, y'know, maps, if only to show passengers the stops and routes. Publicly available maps were a no-no.

I'd also hypothesize the Edelweisses were a thorn in their side, if not an outright challenge to their authority, not just with their generational Silverash friendship but with their accumulation of knowledge, particularly with Gnosis being far more radical, perceptive, and inquisitive than his father.

It's really no wonder that they took the chance to get rid of both in one fell swoop.

Am I the only one who was dissapointed with the Avery update?

I don’t expect Avery not to do a 180. But give me at least something after they’re saved or ascended. Maybe throw in a bone like how rare soft moment scenes are given to Whitney?

I will die on this hill that their character was shafted over by making them a plot device. Because their update had virtually no romance in it.

It sucks being an Avery fan. Their update did more in the romance department for Whitney, Robin, and Bailey too (no hate these three are some of my fave characters)… Let’s not talk about how their update was just the intro for Gwylan. Ugh.

It comes to a point when all the Avery hate that people constantly post affect my mood. And depending what social media you use, it’s hard to filter out. It makes me wonder if his reception would have been a bit better if he wasn’t as unfinished and had a proper soft scene 😔.
