he grabs his hand, fingers entwining as he pulls namkyu along, a soft laugh seemingly leaving his lips. “come on! i like this shop!” valentine says, as he’s pushing the door open to the clothing store, scotch & soda. he leads namkyu over to a section with his hand, before he starts looking through some of the sort. he pulls out a jacket with a gold design. “what do you think about this one?” he asked, before his eyes look upon a hoodie and sweatpants set. “should we get matching sweatsuits?” he jokes, chuckling a bit.
namkyu had been hanging out with valentine a considerably large amount. the two had taken a nice, short trip to hawaii, and now were texting nearly every day.. which, to his surprise, didn’t bother namkyu as much as he thought it would. now, valentine was dragging him into yet another store with a horrible name. “ god, who names a store scotch and soda? it has pretentious written all over it. ” coming from a pretentious man, himself. “ i think it’s nice, i guess. would look better on my floor but you already knew that. ” the male jokes. “ you mean like paris hilton and nicole richie? ”
mac is nodding his head at the other, laughing to himself. “yeah, i honestly got kind of bored while watching it, if i’m honest.” he shrugs. “perhaps!”
“ have you ever seen the saw movies? ” namkyu asks, wondering if the other was a horror movie go-er. namkyu enjoyed them, but often got grossed out by the fake blood. “ they gore is gross, but the storylines are awesome. it’s amazing how they all mesh together. ”
“If the Purge was real, I would fucking be living. I’d just raid all of my favorite stores and get my sisters and I some cute ass clothes,” she replied. Of course, she had the money to get nice things at this point, but if she didn’t have to pay for it all? That would be even better. “I think I would be safe, yeah. I didn’t exactly grow up in the nicest neighborhoods, so I’ve learned a thing or two about self defense. I’m not afraid of no stupid bitches,” the blonde chuckled. People were dumb to mess with her and not get a reaction. Stella would never back down from a fight.
“ damn, didn’t even think of raiding stores. i like the way you think. ” namkyu leans against her shoulder and smirks mischievously. “ i don’t know if self defense is enough to fight off big ass weapons, though. i mean, you can try, but i don’t have faith in you. ”

namkyu loves the idea of being in love but is also in love with a million people at the same time. the guy will tell someone they’re his everything and then ghost them in two days. he is really bad at being a tease; he enjoys the excitement and the build up of a relationship, but then will dip when it gets serious. lowkey commitment issues. are we surprised? no.

bio.
born in seoul, south korea to an extremely poor family. his parents deeply regretted bringing namkyu into the world when they knew that they wouldn’t be able to properly care for him. the family had three other children prior to namkyu (he was the youngest at the time), and the addition of the boy really added another level of stress to the family. while struggling to support him, his family lost their residence and was evicted due to lack of payment, thus causing them to jump around from place to place until his father could land a steady enough job to keep them a float.
NEGLECT TW. his mother didn’t care much about the children once they had been born, leaving the caring of the youngest up to the elder siblings, and therefore continued to have more children, specifically namkyu’s younger brother (who wasn’t even his father’s child), which only added another mouth to feed. END TW.
his father had been watching what the familial stress was doing to namkyu at the young age of four, and decided to put him up for adoption, hoping that his youngest son would be able to find a different family — one that would be able to support him in the way that he deserved. besides, namkyu was a bit of a handful; he was rather needy, and consistently wanted to be played with and held, crying when he didn’t get what he wanted. so, essentially, this wasn’t just for namkyu’s sake, but also for his father’s (as namkyu was a bit of an annoyance to him, anyway).
he was adopted into another family from south korea (the choi family), but was quickly relocated to america at the age of eight. it was a bit of a culture shock to say the least, but the family continued to practice korean traditions and customs even in their new home — new york city. the choi’s were extremely rich, and usually were able to soothe namkyu with toys, food, etc. they preferred to spend money on him than spend actual time with the boy, and thus namkyu has a very twisted vision of love, and what it looks like. this not only being from his experience with his new family, but also from being put up for adoption by his birth family. he is sort of unfamiliar with how it is supposed to feel.
namkyu began writing when he was in the 8th grade, and began to compose his own music once he joined the band program at his middle school. his parents had hired a music teacher for private lessons, and that was when the boy really found he had a love for music. not only a love, but also an immense talent. he continued to pursue his talents as he got older, and decided to move back to seoul (once of age) to become a trainee at one of the bigger entertainment companies there. of course, namkyu’s parents paid his flights, food, etc, and were happy to be rid of the boy for a short while.
namkyu was placed into a group called supernova, which became sort of a household name rather quickly in south korea. they were fresh, new, and fun — not to mention handsome, so fans flocked to them as you can imagine. they’re slowly becoming known in america, with a few international fans. ( like, tomorrow x together or ateez )
namkyu is still a part of supernova today, but also writes / produces his own music under his solo name, kyuu.
he moved back to new york upon the release of their second studio album to get away from the flashing lights and paparazzi that seemed to follow him in seoul (and post outrageous stories in the magazines). namkyu lives in north kingsboro in a lavish, one bedroom apartment. he is well off, not only because of his successes, but also because of his family’s money.
