Why did [REDACTED] have to make such a comment?
I got a new pair of glasses a few days ago and I decided to take them to school today. And honestly I couldnt really find a perfect pair but I settled with a "doctor's glasses" as she described them. I mean i did want to buy rectangular glasses but more of a "secretary" than a "doctor."
And then she says:
"They're now showing your truth!" Which basically means they show your skin's details and all its imperfections.
And I asked "what." Notice how that doesn't have a question mark?
She proceeds to clarify even further and say: "Like your, uhm, dark circles. They're more prominent."
Oh, thanks!
And it honestly hurts even more knowing that she's very pretty. And she was the first person ever in my life to make me insecure about my dark circles back in 6th grade. I never noticed them before she came into my life.
And I'm happy for her. You know; never seen her breakout ever before, no dark spots yet she doesn't wear sunscreen, long lashes and grown brows. And of course, the final boss: straight hair.
When I turned around after that comment—and also before I turned to her—she would pull at my hair. My hair is very puffy cause I didnt want to pull at my roots by making a tight bun so I made like a twist bun or whatever. But it made my hair very... big. And honestly, I just didnt know what to do. I told her to stop and after some more pokes, she did. But I felt awkward after that.
Why do I have to save all my money to buy expensive skincare products and still have a terrible complexion while she just uses hers on candy that I cant even eat because I'll beat myself up for it?
Why can she show her hair to her friends not afraid they'll try to feel it and touch it to distinguish it from a bush? Why can she get so close to people without feeling self conscious about her pores or black heads? It's just not fair.
