This could be just a rambling post or something akin to maybe character interpretation, but it’s been itching in the back of mind lately. I will now indulge in Wayne Headcanons bc he’s a comfort character that I wanna wrap in a warm burrito. Some entries are shorter than others and whatever is canon, I just expand on it with my thoughts.
He’s not much of a conversationalist. Gives one word replies (pretty much canon) or just simple, straightforward answers. It’s not that he isn’t interested in the conversations (or having them). He doesn’t often know what to say to propel the discussion forward, so it’s mostly him listening and vocalizing an opinion if deemed necessary.
Or, maybe, he’s socially awkward when the conversation turns to him and his mind craps out and he forgets to speak.
Unless you’re in his friend group, Wayne doesn’t socialize with many people except when necessary. People perceive this as either rude or odd, but to Wayne, he prefers to keep it short and simple. Yes or no. Cool or alright. Okay or nah, man.
Appearance wise, some residents are put off by it. I mean, for a moon dude whose only expression is stoicism, this guy detracts a lot of people. The clothes aren’t the issue, but the fact that his face remains unchanging gets him on the receiving end of unfair assumptions. Like, is he pissed? Does he wanna fight? Of course, it doesn’t bother Wayne too much. At least, not as much.
Despite the silent stoicism, Wayne’s pretty chill and kind for the most part.
Just don’t piss him off. It’s rare for him to get really pissed, but it’s better to assume than to provoke.
If you’re friendly with his friends, then he considers you to be his friend as well.
Wayne tires easily but doesn’t let that get in the way of his fighting or other activities. Whenever there’s an opportunity, he takes very, very long naps.
Pongorma has to zap him awake sometimes.
Confides with Somsnosa the most, though there are some things that Wayne will never reveal to her. She need not concern herself with them.
Likes playing random riffs on his guitar to himself. Helps inspire songs to formulate.
Or maybe likes to play riffs to drown out the noise around him. Who knows?
Smokes casually. The smoke doesn’t really hurt him (weird biology shit that I’m not gonna explain), and Old Wayne has been trying to get him to quit. These attempts have mostly gone unanswered.
While Soms is the lead singer of the band, Wayne has done a few vocal covers though he prefers to just play guitar only. Kind of prefers Soms voice over his. I know that it’s technically canon(?) that Vinny Vinesauce is the headcanon voice of Wayne, but I like the idea of Wayne being self-conscious about his voice when it comes to performing. He’ll do backup vocals, but the main vocals are Soms thing.
While Wayne doesn’t get most of it, he thinks Dedus’s explanations are intriguing stories that make him sleep better.
I feel like Wayne and Pongorma would argue a lot. With Pongorma being older and having experienced so much fighting and change, you’d think Wayne would seek his advice about a multitude of things. Wayne does respect Pongorma, but, for him at least, the aged knight makes it difficult to reach out. Wayne appreciates his friend’s support, don’t get me wrong. However, Pongorma remains at an arms reach that makes it hard for Wayne to connect with him.
He can glow. Moons do that. It’s faint, soft, and quite warm if you’re close to Wayne.
Frequent visitor of the Afterlife. Wayne has crashed on the couch more times in that place than he cares to remember. No one says anything about it, but it makes it hard for when he’s needed.
His horns are sensitive (towards the top mainly). He doesn’t want people touching them. So, hands off.
His relationship with Old Wayne is…tenuous, to put it lightly? It’s not that he doesn’t want a parental relationship with his elder, but due to how many Waynes (and Decres’) there are at the Waynehouse, there’s so much going on that Wayne feels invisible within his own home. Old Wayne isn’t a terrible person, but he doesn’t quite understand how to formulate bonds with his own kind. Once they come into being, they just grow and train and, if they’re ready, they can leave. Wayne will protect his family (he’ll even state it verbally), but he won’t call Old Wayne his father. I think it would be quite awkward for the both of them.
