very aggravated that streaming services seem hellbent on preventing me from legally watching things i want to watch. first all the star trek removal from anywhere bullshit. and now criminal minds not doing ep by ep releasing on disney+ as i had assumed it would?

spoilers for criminal minds season 19 episode one under the thing

so i literally started watching criminal minds properly (like i’d seen maybe half a season prior) when jeri ryan was announced for the new season. and i definitely got into it and am glad i watched it and obviously now am in love with paget brewster etc etc.

but i really thought that with a relatively substantial announcement for jeri being on the show she was at least going to be recurring!! not just a one episode somewhat supplementary character! she did some great acting. but i’m still pretty salty that after all that time it was ultimately for maybe ten minutes max screen time?

i guess it’s possible that her character will pop up again for some reason. but it seems unlikely.

plus SUSAN as a character name??? erica messner, be so for real. jeri doesn’t deserve a boomer-ass name.

it should be the best! it’s summer! it’s the holidays! i have a house!

but i am SO lonely and SO behind in life and every little moment of joy in nature (eg the waterfall from today) is a little bit of dopamine in that moment that then disappears entirely like it was never there.

mid thirties

broke as hell and now with added mortgage

perpetually exhausted

not reading enough/ever

not getting any joy from any watching

no pets yet

no kids yet

11 relationship ended and precious little to show for it except a lack of any kind of life development

no writing

limited friends

no idea of any travel future

rampant adhd

just completed and utterly despondency if i’m honest

unfit

too sad to figure out my thesis

too anxious to talk to anyone apart from shouting into the void which is just gonna freak people out more

it all fucking sucks so much and if summer and waterfalls still manages to be this bleak how the hell am i going to handle life when work starts up again? jesus.

And now I have available to me:

And that’s it. No other legally streamable Trek for me.

Anyway. It’s always funny to me that basically 90% of my internet pals are diehard Xena fans. Another five percent have at least watched it. And yet, I live where it was filmed and I think I could tell you two or three people I’ve ever known IRL who have watched it.

It’s just peculiar, I suppose. Maybe if I ever manage to find sapphic friends in this city I’ve lived basically my whole damn life that would change.

(For the record, I have watched a few episodes now, but only in the last couple of years.)
