Anyways, I want to introduce the OC character into the mix! Welcome, Rose! She’s an architect who studies ruins and did her thesis on Theory of Architectural Folklore! She got yeeted into the middle of the Journey to the West after trespassing into a temple up in the mountains and now she’s trying to get back home. Usually very quiet and meek, she learns that in a world like this, a little assertiveness comes a long way. Too bad Wukong tends to pick a fight with everyone and brings out the worst in people.
I was doing something doodling and thought: "what if Wukong got scolded and OC wanted to make him feel better?" Well, then this popped out. In this scene Wukong just got a scolding from the Tang Monk for once again doing something that the monk deemed wrong. Rose by this point sees that the punishments and scoldings are somewhat unfounded and begins to take pity (?) on Wukong—to an extent. Wukong, however, doesn’t believe anyone is on his side so he tends to ignore her. Until she’s had it with his pity me party and removes her expensive jade pendant (she saved up for months!) and ties it around his neck.
Come on? You thought there would be a soft moment with this guy? Yeah right.
