I read the Gael song series and it's the best read of 2025 for me, and for a while. I need someone to swoon over Murchad and Fodla with me. I'm desperate.

The children of kings and fighting men is the first in a trilogy with prequel books and a new series (that I'm waiting in line for at the library) with amazing characters in historical fantasy Ireland. Anyone who loves Irish mythology will love this book. Please read it and talk to me about it!! 😭😭

I did it. I finally did it. Diarmuid is maxed outside of his bond level. I have been working on making him my strongest and (first) heroic spirit to be completely maxed out. It's been way too many years but totally worth it

My husband and I booked a trip to Japan in October for 10 days the second week. We are absolutely excited yet *terrified*. This is our first trip ever outside the country so far far away and have no idea what to expect and I want to make sure we do this right so it's an easy, fun travel.

Our flight will arrive in Haneda Airport, and we will be staying in Tokyo. We know basic Japanese, and I mean basic loke how to say hello, ask for help, thank you, stop, wait good morning, etc

We want to go shopping for our favorite anime merchandise (yes, we know the culture is different than what we've seen), see the beautiful fall leaves, enjoy the culture, and anything else that will make those 10 days the best days we've ever experienced in life.

Saying that, what things should we avoid doing? What do we need to have prior to going? What vaccines are mandated if any? What apps can we download to travel the buses, trains, etc effectively? What small shops or places should we visit? What nearby areas are travellable? Expense isn't a worry, but how do we convert our money over to use there? Can we use credit cards, or does it need to be cash? How easy is it to read? I can read japanese with English letters, (ex Arigato) but not their actual writing. Is there an app that translates their beautiful artistic writing style?

I'm sure I have plenty of other questions but I'm opening this to any sort of feedback and suggestions we could get! We want to try and do as much as we can, as we saved up 2 years for this trip haha and I've dreamt of seeing another country and especially Japan, all my life

Rewatching fate:Zero, this still bothers me. While I know Sola Ui is cookoo banana beans because of mole stuff, why would Diarmuid say this specific quote? In both the LN and the series, Sola shows she knows enough "military" knowledge. She scolds Kayneths poor choices, tells him where Diarmuid's decisions were better in battle were/might of been necessary (even I actually agreed with Kayneth here about defeating Saber with Berskerker while he was compliant), and is the one providing him mana and has even mentioned knowing spells or whatever.

I wish the dialogue here was different, and simply not "sexist" in telling Sola this. He could have said, "It's going to be a blood bath there, and having you separate is safer" and it would have sufficed. But this dig at her battle potential made me mad lol He never gave her that chance or hell, talked to her about what she could do. We are only shown this assumption based on....? She's spellbound? idk text doesnt saaaay

And even if he just said that because she was too wishy washy staring at those command seals like they were Diarmuid's erect penis for her, it would have been nice for him to think it or hint that being the real reason. Makes him feel less, well, dismissive.

For real though, my friend got convinced to watch it with me and I felt the old brainworms wriggling in. Also I’d been thinking on redrawing some very old piece to see how far I’ve gotten. Diarmuid just so happened to be on my very first Fate fanart four years ago, so here he is! I don’t think it counts as a redraw however. More like a full blown remaster, since now I possess both skill and confidence to put a character in the exact scene I want. (here’s a 2020 old art jumpscare for your own comparison)

Might eventually also draw a Cu for old times sake…
