Say hello to mechanically separated chicken. It’s what all fast-food chicken is made from—things like chicken nuggets and patties. Also, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it. Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve—bones, eyes, guts, and all. it comes out looking like this. There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Then, because it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color. But, hey, at least it tastes good, right? High five, America!

As someone whose anxiety is triggered very heavily by news I have a few tips.

My rule with this is “if your not mentally healthy enough to consume news, don’t”, while being informed is great! You have to care take of yourself and your own well-being before you take care of the world’s problems. So I only consume news if I’m in a good enough mental place todo so. Its not easy todo but once you get into the habit of checking your own mental headspace before consuming it becomes second-nature. Plus there’s ways you can regulate yourself to avoid doom strolling.

1) Block current events and news related tags in your social media feed so you don’t just stumble upon it when your in a bad headspace, you can go looking for it when your well enough later but this way it doesn’t sneak up on you

2) set a timer for news related apps to avoid doom strolling. I set mine for 10 minutes, enough for me to read any relevant articles but not enough time to put me a negative spiral

3) try to avoid 24 he. news sites, due to their format their incentivized to repeat a lot of news stories that are upsetting. Or they’ll report on a story as it’s developing, which is sometimes needed but I find the lack of closure on those stories really triggering. So I try to use sites which summarize the news of the day/week/ etc. for you. Like a daily print newspaper or sometimes news stations will put out a video summarizing the news of the day/week. ITS SUPER HELPFUL.

4) Go to sites or blogs that report uplifting news to try and balance out doom spiraling. The subreddit r/upliftingnews is great for this, due to how news stations operate their incentivized to report only the most upsetting stories. Which yes, the world can absolutely be upsetting and it’s important to know about those things but when it’s all you consume you basically just inflict psychic damage on yourself. Try to seek out stories that remind you that there is good in the world

5) Limit your Internet time in general, while I love the internet and all its wonderful beautiful glory. I do try to limit myself to only 2hrs, a day because the internet and particularly social is designed to upset you. Now do I fail and sometimes spend hours on this very site? absolutely. But any amount of progress is still progress.

I personally believe every person needs a creepy/bizarre painting in their house, just for conversation starters or too weird out guests. Then when you move out leave it in a hard-to-find location for the next owners to find.

I think that part of what makes one piece so sexy is that the main characters are all criminals so they're not beholden to anything but their own moral compass and the ties of loyalty to their own crew, so they can do some fucked up things when their loved ones get hurt and it stays true to their character

One Piece is a show that has had such a big impact on myself and how I view the world, despite the ugliness that we have in our world it reminds me to just try my best to do what I can. It helped me look for flaws in systems that can be changed for the better, and improved my own critical thinking, as well as look for the good in others. 

The strawhats carried me through some of my toughest parts of my life and always pulls me back together, the goofiness always puts the brightest smile on my face. Even when One Piece ends I will always appreciate that Oda brought back my will to continue living for myself and for my own dream.  

Luffy will forever be my favourite character for his ability to continue fighting, and pulling through his own depression, and never giving up with a smile on his face.
