(eric) It's just not funny to make fun, we all knew how her mom was but those are private things and today? I worked really hard with SJ to cook all this. I just wanted to have a good time with your friends. They're good, they've all been so nice to me.

(eric) SJ? I'm sorry Kali can't keep her emotions in check, and I'm sorry she doesn't know when to quit and continues to disrespect everyone at this table.

(eric) Wow. That...sounds awful. I'm sorry I asked.
(steph) [laughs] It's fine, it comes with a lot of benefits too. You know, ridiculously wealthy, having everything at our fingertips.
(eric) I'm sure, but you guys missed out on a lot of kid stuff.
(jules) [groans] They won't understand us as we won't understand them. Now where the fuck is my wife?
(steph) They're on their way, I can see them but, SJ? Are you okay? That comment about your mom-
(jules) I am fine. Do not attempt to analyze me or my emotions.
Emily arrives in Nordhaven and greets Kaiden, complimenting him on his white and grey floral button down he's paired with jeans. “Thanks, you look really pretty," he says, his eyes warm. The two of them sit down on a couch, and Emily tells him about her family and friends. "Wow, having four total moms must make mother's day intense," Kaiden jokes and Emily grins. "Yup, but I don't mind too much and I always pre-plan their gifts. So, what about you?" She asks. "Well, Kath and I were raised by our parents in Ciudad Enamorada and we moved to Nordhaven when I was 14. It was a weird adjustment at first, but got much better when I joined my school soccer team and made some friends," he says and Emily nods.
After a while, Kaiden offers to buy Emily a drink. "I don't drink much but I'll take a root beer float," she says and Kaiden nods. "Same here, I only drink on occasions," he says, ordering two rootbeer floats for them at the bar. They keep chatting, and Emily tells him about growing up living in a house with her aunties Luna and Chrissy and older cousins. "Piper and Hamuera are like older siblings to me too. They'd take me with them to the park and buy me ice cream and play voidcritters with me," she recalls fondly. "I love that, family is so important to me too," Kaiden says warmly. “I have so many cousins in Ciudad Enamorada, and it’s always fun when I go visit them and we joke and laugh and play silly pranks on our Abuelo,” he adds, and Emily grins. “Aww, are you close to your Abuelo?” She asks, and Kaiden’s eyes light up. “Yup, Kath and I practically grew up at his house and I video call him every weekend so he doesn’t miss me too much,” he says.
The last two photos are just random. One is of Emily walking outside past her grandpa Haoran (I'm sure he saw her on the date and was like okay let me just check in on her without interfering. He has nothing to worry about because Kaiden is a total gentleman 😅), the other one is of Kaiden talking to Emily's great aunt Abby, who looks gorgeous as heck. She really grew into her style more and more and she's a silver fox now. 💜 It kinda makes me sappy that she'll be an elder sim soon, I still remember her being a teen who would play pranks with her twin sis Angie (Emmy's grandma), and tease her older siblings Maya and Luke, and now she has grandbabies of her own and is a great auntie. 🥹
So the house really is haunted lmao but Duncan likes it! Which isn't surprising. He's like a fish in water in that house... too bad he feels lonely without any company... well, living company 🤣
And just like that, the semester has come to an end. Monday, I turned in my art project and took my first exam. Wednesday was two more back‑to‑back. Today, I finished my last one and walked out feeling drained but relieved.
I'm heading to the airport now to pick up my daddy. He wouldn't miss Benjamin's Winterfest performance tomorrow for anything.
