me if i Worked out
i cant read a zelda fic without the author having a healthy knowledge of zelda lore. WHY IS LINK SAYING "Gods damn it." NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
call me a hater but i genuinely cannot sit through the "destined lovers" zelda tiktok edits. half the time they are coworkers who barely interact. half the time they are children. in ocarina of times case, at the end of the game zelda is an adult and link is like 10.
do i think that some are lovers? yes. most of the time? ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh no.
For only one reason is downfall considered âhypotheticalâ and its because we donât see a cutscene in OOT expanding what happens if link goes down.
But botw, windwaker, and even tp to some extent highlight what happens if link goes down- he either comes back from the dead, the sages buy time, or the world simply moves on under darkness until he reincarnates again. The mechanics for link are right in front of us. This series is constantly answering questions with more questions. Literally OOT was supposed to explain the imprisoning war but instead introduced timelines and sort of only described who MIGHT have imprisoned ALTTPâs ganon. TOTK illustrates how an imprisoning war can go down, which actually lines up with what you could imagine happened in ALTTP.
I think peeps really miss how much of this series has repeating events, and explains instances of one event with another.
Too many people try to ask âwhats canonâ when the answer to that is and always has been âliterally everythingâ. All the timelines are Canon. All of the timelines are displayed as being somewhat connected to the Triforce. Three characters. Three goddesses. Three timelines. Thereâs a fourth part, character, and timeline of that thatâs a bit fucky!!! And all of those components are all Canon. Theyâre not contradictions. They are confirmations.
Itâs almost as confusing to me as when people say the Triforce isnât in BOTW/totk because itâs not explicitly stated or talked about. Itâs literally expressed in every fucking corner of the game. We donât need to be so obtuse because the game is being obtuse.
This series is NOT cynical and the people responsible for it biggest narrative twists are literally running the damn thing. Fujibayashi is zelda lore ïżŒnerd No. 1 and has been *Extremely* consistent since he took the reins.
The past couple games of the Zelda franchise kind of dropped the anti-imperialist âHyrule is kinda shittyâ message that was in like every single 3D installment and that shows in BotW and TotK. although, the origins of the Yiga is very âHyrule is badâ in the way the king of Hyrule (in extreme king of hyrule fashion) 10,000 years ago got paranoid the Sheikah were getting too powerful and barred them from research. honestly really hate this. The Sheikah who didnât fight back fled to Kakariko and the cool mysterious awesome assassin Sheikah (Iâm thinking of Impa from OoT and the Shadow Temple with all the torture and executions they did for the royal family) get turned into this⊠funny slapstick group. as I am writing this, Iâm realizing Nintendo might have done this to actually remove the evilness from Hyrule by taking away their metaphorical knife and turning it into a blow up hammer.
