I made a PSD file that makes it easy to make your own coat of arms in the Sims 4 style!
This is perfect if you like playing with royal families, the Ultimate Decades Challenge, or any fantasy gameplay. This would also be great for guilds or clubs, as well as any institutions/organizations you may want to make for your game. The possibilities are endless!

Shield colors
Since I made this for my own UDC use I stuck to the traditional heraldry colors; Gules, Vert, Azure, Purpure, and Sable (red, green, blue, purple, and black). And well as the two metals Argent and Or (silver/white and gold/yellow). The actual shades of these colors match the color icons from CAS.
Ordinaries
This file also includes 11 Ordinaries, or shield designs in the colors mentioned above:
Fess, horizontal stripe
Pale, vertical stripe
Bend, diagonal stripe
Chevron
Cross
Saltire, an x
Chief, vertical stripe at the top
Bordure, border around the edges of shield
Pile, upside down triangle
Per Pale, shield is divided in half
Quarterly, shield is divided into quarters
Icons
This file includes 81 icons from the game for you to include on your shield. These icons were extracted from the game by TheSimKid and you can download even more icons if you press their link.
HOW TO USE
Download the .psd file
Once you open the file there are two folders [Embellishments] and [Shield].
Within the [Shield] folder you will find the different base colors, shield designs, and icons.
To make your shield you just have to play around with the visibility of the layers, everything is already locked in place.
The Icons are not locked in place so you can place them how ever you would like on the shield.
Within the [Embellishments] folder you will find additional elements you can add outside of your shield.
To export I recommend placing the two folders [Embellishments] and [Shield] within another folder (you can do this by selecting both folders while holding shift and then pressing cmd + G). Then right clicking that folder, [Export as PNG] should come up. This will export your shield with a transparent background.
You can export the traditional way as well by going through File> Export As... but it will export your shield with a white background.

The realms of Henford and Windenburg have reached an accord through a marriage alliance. King Demetrius Landegraab shall cede the territories of Olde Mill Hill and the Bramblewood to the noble House von Platz, and grant his sister, Princess Annis, in marriage to Königin Feuer’s son, King Adolphus. In return, Windenburg shall recognize Demetrius as the rightful King of Henford and bestow upon him the hand of Prinzess Phillapa in matrimony.
In summary, Agnes and Scott got married. Shortly after, Agnes' family home caught on fire. Her parents did not survive but fortunately her younger siblings, Cornelia and Robert escaped the home in time. Scott's family kindly took them in.
A while ago I added the Goth family to my Ultimate Decades Challenge save, but I hadn't made a medieval version yet of the updated Goth family.
This is what I imagine they would look like in late 14th century clothing. Additionally I created their family crest using my Sims 4 Coat of Arms Maker .psd file which you can download here to make your own family crests!
If you're curious to see what the Goth family in my current Ultimate Decades Challenge save is up to, you can check out their family tree here and my play-through here.

I finally own Horse Ranch and For Rent and added them to my medieval save. I don't know why I hadn't done this earlier, my families now have horses and the nobles are able to own the peasant's land by using residential rentals.
This is the Bagley family in my Ultimate Decades Challenge save. Ultimately (see what I did there) I'm going to make a tree encompassing all the families in my save since they are all intertwined! This whole project is still a work in progress but I though I would share!
A few technical notes on the trees:
The plan is to bring the individual family trees together as I stated before. So to avoid any repetition I've had to resort to sexism and chosen to only show the male line. For example, some of the women in this family have gotten married and have had children. They along with their children will appear on the husband's family line. There will be an exception to this with the Volpes which pass down titles regardless of gender. I also will only be including members of the family that have survived past the newborn stage. Aka any members that were too young to have their picture taken and exist in the family as just a name will not be included. Similarly I will only be adding spouses, not romantic partners to declutter the information. This means bastards will be shown, but for the most part one of their parents will not. Additionally some unbeknownst bastards live as heirs of some of the most influential families in my game without even knowing they're bastards (*cough* *cough* INFIDELITY *cough* *cough* teen pregnancy), so I will display these sim's information as I see fit according to their stories.

Stumbled upon Upton's character sheet while cleaning my hard drive. He was my gen 2 heir of the Upgrowth Challenge that I never continued but I thought I'd share.
This is my main Ultimate Decades Challenge family. They started off as peasants but made a lot of money early on from farming (honestly I don't think that's realistic at all to real life, but it is what it is). This exercise of writing descriptions for each of my households is good to consolidate the most important information and remember what the common aspiration of each family is. Before putting it into actual words I didn't realize how many overall goals and doubts each of my households have, often involving one another. Having a clearer idea of these aspirations will be great in creating future plot points both within households and across households, so I strongly recommend!
Also I'm thinking of making a comprehensive family tree of everyone in my save. It'll be huge and very complicated since everyone is intertwined, literally every sim in my save (except for a couple of npcs) is on this family tree. Is this something you'd like to see? For now if you really wanna peruse these fams, here's the link to my family echo tree: https://www.familyecho.com/?p=GYZHB&c=e5ndu0bkt9m1y599&f=329035013889159960&lang=en
