the dsmp is worse than homestuck because its less thoroughly archived. right now i have basically the entirety of homestuck and related medias accessible to me at any time. i could get into homestuck in 2025 and probably enjoy it a decent amount with the knowledge of its original cultural context. the dsmp is like lost fucking media compared to homestuck. can you imagine someone right now in 2025 hearing about the dsmp and finally deciding to get into it. the source material is fucking gone. one of the creators is dead (fly high technoblade) and many other significant contributors either actively try to avoid being brought back to That Time or are such assholes that it tarnishes the name. wtf how do you even explain that to someone. i could get a buddy into homestuck easy. i could not do so with the dsmp.s save me

I love Quackity and I understand this app is aimed more broadly than just a YouTube or Twitch audience, but I'd really like if he further described the AI used in app to generate your voice.
This is the only mention I saw on the website which, ok that's good to know, but in an era where people are very concerned about AI features being pushed, I think it's important to be more descriptive about how it "replicates" you with conversational tone and inflection. Especially since it was not addressed in the announcement video, nor was the paywall. I have no issues with a paywall, but having no mention of it is...a choice.
I know it's marketing, I know you have to differentiate your app with a "twist" like using the speaker's voice. But your advertisement is seen by your followers first, and it's not a good look to profit off of them without being transparent.
From what I've seen, they've selected some sentences that you can read into your microphone to train it on your voice. Though a lot of their policy seems very heavy on not sharing your voice data with anyone, and you can skip past it pretty easy. I would have also loved if he talked a bit more about that, and about the credits stuff.
Another thing is that he was so heavy on the "any language imaginable" part, anddd never acknowledged that this is a work in progress. There are like, six languages available actually. And I'm sure they've been checked over thoroughly, since he's been in contact with so many people and beta tested a bunch via calls with other creators, but like. Dude you can say you're working on it that's fine
Other than that, real-time translation is really fucking cool. The recreation of my voice in another language is not something I desire but I would love me some convenient captions
