Clare Torry, best known for her improvised vocalizations on Pink Floyd’s The Great Gig in the Sky.

In 2004, Torry sued Pink Floyd and EMI for royalties and a writing credit on the song under revised British copyright law. Pink Floyd settled out of court with undisclosed terms in 2005, however all releases of Dark Side of the Moon since then have credited her along with Richard Wright.

David Gilmour to Release New Album, ‘Luck and Strange,’ This Fall. Former Pink Floyd frontman will release a new single, "The Piper's Call," on Thursday.

Nearly a decade since the release of his last solo album, David Gilmour will return with a new full-length, Luck and Strange, this fall. The former Pink Floyd singer and guitarist will release the record’s first single, “The Piper’s Call,” on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on Thursday; a music video will follow on Friday. The album will arrive on Sept. 6. 🎧
