An update

Hey guys Demo here. I should probably give you an update on what's been going on.

First off, irl news. I'm now a father! My son was born last month, July 17th! He's now 6 weeks old. I took my parental leave to bond with him and such, but have already returned to work. Aside from that, my laptop has finally died. Sure i've been using mobile more frequently since I moved into my apartment back in February, but I still used it periodically to rp and play games. As of June, it's been dead. Hard drive can't be recognized and honestly it's better to get a new one rather than try to repair something that was on its last legs.

Now then, with the blog. I've kinda been losing my muse for this blog. I'll still keep it running, but lately i've been on my personal and dragonball blogs, as well as Twitter. I'll still pop on here every now and then to check things, but don't expect too much in regards to rps.

Sireneon (Water/Fairy)

#??? - On rare occasion, an Eevee can be affected by more than one environmental factor, and reacts to grow into a new, rare evolution. Eevee who live along the shores of large bodies of water will typically evolve into the aquatic Vaporeon; however, if they have been taken in by another Fairy-type Pokemon whom they have deep affection for, often wild Azumarill or Primarina, they may evolve into the Water/Fairy Sireneon. These rare Pokemon have brilliantly colored scales that attract the attention of other Pokemon and people alike, which they use to their advantage when hunting. The thicker scale pattern around their neck hides their gills, which allows them to spend most of their adult life in the water. When out of water, they have been spotted basking atop rocks, calling to passing ships in a sing-song voice. Sireneon have a very playful demeanor and love attention, though there are accounts of this Pokemon dragging sailors down into the depth if they felt insulted.

I wish people were capable of analyzing larger social trends and figuring that a significant number of women end up getting pressured into engagements or marriages they don’t want bc the audience that comes along with a public proposal will think she’s a bitch if she says no - instead of thinking “i liked it when it happened to me, therefore it could never turn out badly for anyone, not ever!!!!”

I think what people are misunderstanding here is that agreeing to marriage ahead of time doesn’t need to be like, asking permission to propose? I surprised my now spouse with a proposal in Disneyland but before that we had several conversations about the future of our relationship, future plans for our retirements and how we’d have to get married eventually for immigration purposes. I didn’t go to her and say “so would you say yeah if I proposed?” or hash out deets ahead of time, but we had enough of a mutual understanding and communicated desire to get married that, although it was a surprise for when and how I proposed, it wasn’t out of left field at all.

This is exactly like conversations about consent, people get up in arms thinking that it means you have to have contracts and serious sit down conversations before doing anything when its REALLY EASY to simply COMMUNICATE with your partner so things like this are done properly, yeesh

A piece of advice from my mother: If you’re surprised they proposed, you’re not ready to get married.

My now-husband and I had been dating for nearly a year, we had talked about marriage, what sort of wedding we’d like, children vs no children, etc.  We went to a shopping center/mall during the holidays when massive sales are going on, and he had me look at the jewelry to see what sort of thing I like.  I asked to have my finger sized for a ring…just in case.  A few months later he proposed, and had the ring I showed most interest in.  I was sick as fuck, had been on bed-rest for two weeks due to how sick I was, and he had spent those two weeks helping me get to and from the bathroom.  I hadn’t showered for nearly four days when the fever finally broke and I was strong enough to get out of bed.  Managed to get up on my own and was on my way to the bathroom when he got down on one knee and proposed to me in the hallway. 

The WAY he proposed surprised me, not the proposal itself.

You should know a proposal is coming, be expecting it.  Oh, hell, talk about what sort of proposal you would loathe.  Now-husband and I had watched a guy propose to his girlfriend in the middle of a mall and the girl smacked her boyfriend.  He used a MICROPHONE so everyone could hear him.  She took the microphone, smacked him, and stated very clearly “this is the most humiliating thing you could have done to me” and walked away. 

Some people aren’t okay with a public proposal and others love it.  TALK TO EACH OTHER.  Folks proposing: if you’re wondering what your significant other would like and want to surprise them with HOW you do it, talk to their friends, family, and reflect on conversations you’ve had.  There’s a fair chance a public proposal will be a nightmare for them.

Honestly, in the end, a proposal should be just a formality for something that both people have already agreed upon.

It’s not that one can’t make it as extravagant as they want, but it should only come after both parties have already went through the details of what a married life entails and how compatible they’d be and that it’s something they both want.

A surprise proposal should always be a surprise because “Oh shit, I didn’t expect you to do this now”, and not “Oh shit, I didn’t expect you to do this at all.”

I personally would loathe a massive public proposal whether we’d talked about it or not, because I don’t want one of the most major moments of my life to be a fucking spectacle, but 

Like, my dad didn’t even technically propose to my mom. They’ve been married for 43 years this June, and other than my dad being sort of an annoying human being they’ve been happy ones. They were on the same page on marriage and kids and there was no pressure.

“Yeah… A few problems. Main one being that I can’t purify her like Michael did. I’m also pretty sure I’m not allowed allowed in Agate Village.” A sheepish smile appeared on her face. “Besides, she’s no danger to anyone. She won’t do anything unless I give her the command.”

Despite that, Jett glanced over at the Ninetales on top of Dot before turning his gaze back on Lovrina. He let out an exhausted sigh.

“If that is true, then why did you order her to attack Dot? Either way, Purification does not always require the use of Professor Krane’s machines or Agate Village’s spire. In the Ilex Forest in the Johto Region, there is a shrine where Celebi is known to visit. Perhaps you may find it there. Provided that you’ve taken some steps to help purify that Ninetales.”

“I didn’t order an attack. Dot was being rowdy and cooperative, so I just had her pinned down so she wouldn’t cause trouble. If I ordered an attack, she’d be even worse off and I certainly didn’t want to harm the adorable child. And correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t Celebi a very rare sight in Ilex Forest? Even if I manage to reach the shrine, what’s my guarantee that it’ll show up when I approach? It’d be a waste of time and money to go and wait for possibly days without even a hint of Celebi showing up.”

"Its energy always lingers around the shrine. Even if you do not see it, you should be able to feel it. But if you don't want to make the trip... I'm certain you can think of another way to prove your change of heart."

Dot groans annoyed. "Can this thing get off'a me now? I got a kid to take care of."

Nappy is in jail and almost all Shadow Pokemon have been purified. Except…” Her eyes motioned to the Alolan Ninetales, which had the same aura and look of most Shadow Pokemon.

“But to answer your question, I’m here to ask for a job. You see, since that whole Cipher mess, I’ve been wanting to turn over a new leaf and make an honest living. I want to make right by my number 1 fan, Michael.”

Jett just took a deep breath. “Forgive me if I seem skeptical of your intentions. Our history certainly isn’t a pleasant one. But, if you are truly seeking to work and better yourself, I suggest purifying your Ninetales first. If you can do that, I will see about letting you work here.”

“I know I’m taken, but I’ll still go a round wit’cha~” Dot said, winking at the ninetales.
