💝 Quick intro post 🌟

Hi! I'm Maya and this is my art sideblog where I... post my art. My main is @pinkoctopede64 and you can find a bit more info about me on my bio. I draw SFW fanart, OCs, and selfship and I guess aside from some swears or media for older audiences, this is a 100% SFW blog so don't expect any NSFW or suggestive art.

Also, just a clarification/heads up:

I sometimes draw art with tickling but they're NOT fetish/kink (not even a "non sexual kink")!! They're STRICTLY ALWAYS portrayed as a completely SFW playful/comfort mundane affection (same way as hugs) and I will NEVER go beyond that and it never gets into potentially weird territory like feet or whatever. A clarification was probably not needed but as a sex repulsed aroace, it's frustrating that even something with absolutely 0 suggestive intent/nature could still be twisted into something more than that and some will insist on it no matter what. If there's anyone still don't want to see the art regardless: feel free to filter the tag #pinkoctogiggles

was looking at the illustrations of the archy and mehitabel books and saw one of archy that was cute so wanted to draw something based on it (but reworked the context to make it about pestyartists because ofc)

i've been really interested with the idea of ragatha x ribbit lately, even if not too much is known about ribbit yet and i doubt we'll see these 2 interacting much in the finale in whatever flashback there is (let's be real: 99% of her moments with be mainly involving jax and i guess kaufmo i just know it 😭)

i still enjoy having thoughts of these 2 together regardless of what little canon there is so far and i also like them being just friends too

wanted to do a slight redesign of kit for fun. i really wanted to like it and i love the animation but unfortunately, i didn't enjoy gameoverse as much as i hoped and there are some aspects that i wish was done better as a gal with an interest in character design (under the cut because i do ramble quite a bit and i don't wanna clog stuff up)

it got the classic "male character designs get more variety while female character designs look same-ish" problem. nearly all of the notable female characters have the same body type with one notable exception being crab girl, who is a joke and the "single designated ugly girl who does ugly things on screen" trope which is...questionable. now, the designs aren't bad on its own and i don't want major redesigns but the bare minimum would be at least have some body shape variation like one could be muscular or another plus sized.

the bikinis. gonna get this out of the way because i KNOW someone could assume me of complaining about "goonerbait" or some shit but NO, i don't believe that wearing bikinis nor curvy women are inherently sexual but i do have slight issues with how gameoverse was presented. kit and miss information wear bikinis for most of the runtime and both got bound/tied up at one point while nobody else got remotely restrained, which feels like leans into fanservice-ish territory and i question the full intent. if one wears different swimwear (like a scuba suit that i drew) and another keeps the bikini, then i wouldn't have much problems. it'll give some slight variation.

i know it's just a pilot and maybe things will be tuned out like having more female design variety but

1: the future of the project is pretty uncertain rn and who knows what will happen? and 2: pilots should give a good first impression and if the impression it gave me is "questionable treatment regarding its female characters that can validly be seen as a bit misogynistic".... not that good!

and now i'm gonna be clear: it's fine if you enjoy gameoverse and just because i have criticisms doesn't mean i think that it's the worst nor i hate glitch/indie animation as the whole. just because it's indie doesn't mean it's completely flawless and isn't immune to constructive criticism. idk, i just seen people glazing the pilot and defend it as if their lives depend on it, dismissing anyone with valid concerns as complete haters. i really do hope the crew behind gameoverse take some notes and make the project better than ever because that's all i want when i point out problems, not hating for the sake of hating.

semi old rory raccoon fanart i just now realized i never posted

one thing that gets me about the rory segments in linus is that sometimes, his clown cousin shows up and there has been times that HE TOOK UP MORE SCREENTIME THAN RORY HIMSELF!! my boy already went through enough

only got 4 commercials compared to every other mascot

didn't even get a season 2 because he was less popular than sugar bear so he only gotten 17 segments out of 37 total episodes

not a lot but 4 segments are still lost and while 2 will air on metv toons soon, there are 2 not included anywhere and i have no idea if they'll show up in the upcoming dvd release

last year on this day, i discovered shinbone alley and immediately became attached to archy (albeit, i only gained romantic feelings months later but he was still basically a "fav character at first sight") and i decided to make it the anniversary date for pestyartists!

archy means a bunch to me especially when he is the one that got me fully back into selfshipping again for the first time in ages. so even if he may be seen as "unconventional" due to his appearance and obscure source material, i still love him dear and i'm hoping to draw more in the future ❤️💝
