Oh, so that’s what sexual magnetism is
Here’s the full version on his youtube: HOLY SHIT???
I actually prefer the clip if only because of how it starts you off. You go from “This is silly” to “Okay this guy can actually dance” to “Wait, WHAT THE FUCK!”
ATTENTION COSPLAYERS:
I would like to make the paint brand “Angelus” known. It is a special paint that is for leather, faux leather, rubber, and similar surfaces.
This is literally the best paint you can buy if you love a pair of shoes, but they aren’t in the right color for your character.
This stuff coats VERY well AND the coats of paint bend with your shoes. This means no cracking!!
In the photos above I took black rain boots and painted them with Angelus Turquoise. As you can see, they don’t look black any more! It’s so good!
I managed to paint two boots with a little one ounce bottle of the paint, and I still have a third of the bottle left over!
The paint dries very fast, so you can put layer on top of layer on top of layer without it streaking.
You can get the paint on Amazon and it comes in every color!
I just really wanted to make this known!! :D This stuff is amazing!

Don’t buy Angelus pain’t on Amazon, it’s like $6.99 an ounce. Buy it direct from their online store the poster above linked, the single ounce bottles are $2.95 there. Also, a little goes a long way, unless you have something HUGE to paint, you can probably do it with a small bottle. I barely dented the one I got doing all the black on this;
Things I wish I had known last year.
I’m just impressed that 3 people I follow showed up in one post! But yes, support angelus paint
The nice thing about Angelus is that it’s water based, so both non-toxic AND can be watered down to make light washes. This can be really useful for tinting fabrics. It works well as a general fabric paint at full strength too, especially on stiff materials like canvas. They also have a softener you can add for more flexibilty. That’s on top of being awesome for leather, plastics, poly urethane, and pvc!
One important thing: AVOID natural rubber/latex. Acrylic doesn’t play well with those and is likely to peel. Most “rubber” boots these days are vinyl though, which is fair game! Be careful with the soles, which are often still natural. Always test if you’re unsure. Side note, natural rubber can be dyed! And there are specialized paints like Plasti-Dip. But that’s a whole other post.
You should also be cleaning/stripping any real leather products because the finish can prevent paints from gripping. Angelus sells a product for this but you can also use a high % rubbing alcohol or acetone. I like acetone because it strips faster, but you need to be cautious with pure acetone as too much can damage the leather.
DO NOT use acetone on synthetics! It will straight up melt them. Synthetics just need to be wiped clean and gently sanded with a high grade sand paper. Like 200 grit and up. Angelus also sells an adhesion promoter, though I’ve never needed it on shoes. It’s more important for something thin and flexible, like raincoat.
Angelus has great tutorials on it’s website, and there’s also plenty of how-to’s on Youtube. These paints are industry standard for theatre costuming because they’re durable as hell and can be used in so many ways. Happy painting, guys!
Tada! Dye-painted wool felt cape, part of my emperor moth comission.

what she says: i’m fine
what she means: have you noticed that whenever people tell cheesy stories about going off the grid to find themselves, it always includes elements of feeling freedom from their appearance for the first time? not that they felt pretty or beautiful for the first time, but that for the first time, they didn’t care at all? when I lived on a farm, I didn’t care about how I looked. I washed my face and combed my hair, and nothing else mattered. nobody else cared either. we got along with each other, or we didn’t, but we worked together to get our work done, and we ate well, and we explored the world, and we were mostly happy.
similarly, people joke that hiking or camping or roadtrips “lowers the bar” of what we consider attractive. that after two months on the appalachian trail, suddenly you find people attractive even with messy hair, and no makeup, and when they smell a little funky. and you feel good about yourself even though you have messy hair, and no makeup, and you smell kind of funky.
we like to laugh at this phenomenon as if we’re all just a bunch of hippies forgetting what it’s like to be and look “normal” for a while, but I think what’s actually going on is very said because the truth is
we’re just realizing that when we escape media for a few months, a few weeks, a few days, when we’re not comparing ourselves to impossible images, when we’re not told we have to have this body, this face-shape, this color skin, no acne, no scars, straight teeth, shaved armpits, a “good” smile, the “right” clothes, the “correct” gender presentation,
suddenly, we feel good about ourselves. The truth is, we’re experiencing freedom from the pressures of what society deems “acceptable,” “pretty,” “attractive,” for the first time, and we can then realize how fucked up our modern idea of beauty has become.
it messes me up.
art…. rat…. same letters………. not a coincidence.
I split a gigantic cookie with my friends the other day and it was amazing.
