Vaporwave Simulator 1.0 is now available to download!
This is the first full version of the game. It features a teenage nonbinary protagonist named You who’s lost xir sunglasses, and must venture through a bright, 90′s inspired neon world to get them back.
morality system with four possible endings
date mechanics (you can date a palm tree or a roman bust)
diverse cast, including an unambiguously nonbinary protagonist
Features in this version:
-General bug fix (can’t say what without spoilers; I’m aware there are still bugs since this is, after all, a demo. Still, it’s a lot more polished than version 0.6.)
-Revamped soundtrack featuring music created myself!
-A new world available from the Between, as well as more sidequests!
-A few of the puzzles were tweaked to increase difficulty!
-And, like before, a diverse cast, four possible endings, and totally gnarly aesthetic!
-The game uses a few elements from the RTP. To cut down on file size, the RTP is not included in the file. If you don’t have it already, you can download it for free here. This version of the game should work on Windows 10. It’s been tested by a few people and it worked fine. If you’re having issues, try compatibility mode.
I would prefer if you went in the game not expecting it to be a full-on parody of vaporwave. If you don’t know about the more subtle nuances of the genre, I recommend watching the 22-minute Vaporwave: A Brief History so you have a better understanding of the mood I tried to create.
I know there’s bugs. This is my first game that I’ve programmed all by myself. I’ve already got future updates, mostly for bug fixes, planned.
Please put your posts about it in the #vaporwave simulator tag so I can see them!
