“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves now! I know we watched a small preview of your fights, Nate~! Just know that my pokemon are not going to hold back, even though you’re my dear friend! My beloved singers, let us shine bright for the stage!” 

The whirling of purple energy continues to churn, as a single vortex of an eye remains ever so cruelly gazing upon the other trainer. Its mouth ripping wide with a slight grin.

“Wheeeeewwewwwwwwweeh!”

“I didn’t insult your pokemon’s pride by pulling punches, but I see quite a few of them are gutsy! Why don’t you tell me how you met them all while we go get ice cream and you can build snowmen with my Darmanitan!”

…he REALLY needed to know where that Spiritomb came from because MAN did it feel like it was trying to stare into his soul during that battle.

Eelektross would be keeping an eye on Lucky over there, as he swore they were trying to curse Hugh during that match!

“That sounds fun! You can also tell me all about the Galar region and it’s many beautiful pokemon, too! I’m sure some of my pokemon like Teddy would love to get to meet them, too! There’s even a rumor that there’s another bear pokemon there! Hugh, let’s go~!” 

They were ready to set off for ice cream and fun times....

...but of course... you can never really forget and turn a blind eye to Lucky. 

The Spiritomb stares back even more ominously. Threatening, even- but more-or-less unprovoked.

“I never really did get to see much battles from any of my friends. I felt bad... that is why I am here, Hugh. Please, show me what being a trainer is like! As a body guard, it is a privilege to see just how sparkling your pokemon have become to defend you- their trainer!” 

A pound of their fists together, and a harsh drilling noise, a pokemon stamps forth to acknowledge its trainer’s beloved friend. 

Her scales may be softer than most Rhydon- but her attitude is still quite hardy!

"Congrats on your victory. I had no idea you could battle that well. I'm impressed. Too bad your Gallade isn't allowed entry, because he would have loved to fight here I bet."

“I honestly don’t-! I don’t really know what I was doing... So I guess I just tried to let my pokemon be the stars of the show for once. Poor Gallade had suffered a minor injury before this, so he wouldn’t be able to participate. He’s far too stubborn to if he thinks he’ll be held back by even a scratch.”

“In the meantime... Lucky took his place. I honestly never really had seen them at all in action on my stage, so I hope he’ll make a good candidate for my backup singers.” 

Lucky seemed to be staring at Hugh ominously.

He hands her a Strawberry-Pecha Berry Smoothie with a wide grin. "Nice job out there! Your battlin style really does suit ya, ya know? Though, where'd ya get Macy's mawilite? I'm curious."

She accepted the smoothie with a kind smile, a nervous chuckle with all the compliments before taking a generous sip of the sweet drink! 

“Oh- Macy’s mawilite? Come to think of it, my father got it for me as a lottery reward! We were very lucky too, since it seemed like the original owner of the mawilite didn’t seem to want to handle it anymore. Macy though seems to have taken a liking to it! Haven’t you, Macy?” 

“Ma~Wile~!” The pokemon sang with a spin of her feet! A barette tucked into the surface of her mouth-like horn sparkled bedazzlingly with wondrous pink light! 

She was NOT sorry for getting a little rough play in!

"I AM SO PROUD OF YOUUUU!!!!!" He just ran over and scooped her up and spun her around in his arms. His smile and laugh a sign of his pride in his battle kohai over here. "Let me treat you and your team to smoothies and parfaits after an amazing match like that!"

“Haha~! I didn’t really know what I was doing- my pokemon sort of led the battle instead of me... but still-! I’m very proud of my dear Macy. Who knew that she would turn out to be a little rambunctious?” 

A familiar friend had come around and butted their head against the Hoenn Trainer’s leg. A feisty baby Jangmo-o! Still so very young, not yet ready for battle... but there was indeed fire in its eyes, and with a firm huff, it shuttered its tiny scales and propped its head up. 

Soon, they too will show what they can do in the future. For the honor of its fallen father the other trainer possessed.

“Wha-!? I didn’t... Wow- Macy! I didn’t know that you were so fed up like that! Well... I guess you can say that love conquers all...!”

“So many wonderful stars here...! I’m not quite sure that i’m up for this, hm...”

A rattata just walks up to her and bulges his eyes at her.

Nope she DOESN’T like that!!!!!

He just grabs her hand and holds it, giving her a wide smile. “You ever try to hide a Pokémon under your hat? Honestly I think it’d look cute.”

As if on cue, a tiny pink pokemon had managed to lift up Nancy’s hat just in time to see Nate settle beside her trainer! She chirruped, smiling sweetly before going back to nap under her trainer’s hat once more. 

“Miss Buff always likes camping out under my hat sometimes! She doesn’t stay up there all day, but she likes to fit in her nap now and then. However~!” 

Nancy pulled him towards her and pecks his cheek! 

“I don’t mind sharing my hat with you, if you ever forget yours, Nate...!”

“Hey-! Wylan, that’s MY hat!”

She had not heard of anyone talking in the manner that this man described human emotions. To a girl like her, they were like blooming flowers with a variety of colors. With him, he made it sound like it was homework. How confusing, it made Nancy’s lips frown for a moment. 

“Or... mayhaps you’re overthinking it a little bit? Just a teeny bit?” Nancy looks up at him, round eyes widening in surprise and confusion. She didn’t understand, but he seemed to know what he was talking about, right?

   Oh yes, the ferriswheel is immensely romantic. In the middle of the big city Nimbasa, where the only peace and quiet a couple can get from their busy lives is at the peak of the ferriswheel. Really, Curtis swoons over the very concept~.

   “Haha, I didn’t think you were that shy, Nancy. You definitely had me fooled! I like to think I’m brave enough to hold someone’s hand.”

   He holds out an open palm for her to hold. 

   “Do you wanna prove that I can?”

“Oh, you didn’t? Well, I guess I hide it pretty well when i’m around other people! With my friends, like you? I have no need to be nervous or shy, my green bean~” She had mused with a kind smile, even chuckling along with him! It’s so good to know that someone like him understands how someone like her can feel towards these things! 

“Oh, you-! Alright, Curtis, I admit that you are as brave as I am.” She gently took his hand and smiled at him. The idol singer would never feel afraid or hesitant to accept his hand like that! 

“The real challenge is holding both of their hands and staring at them in the eyes until the sun sets~” Might be creepy to some, but Nancy enjoyed just gazing at her crushes! They were just so cute, you know?
