Dwarf heads are hard. Hobbit heads, not so much. Many dwarves try to bang heads with Bilbo, and Thorin has to come up with many ways to stop it.
John is a world class jewel thief, who was finally caught. But only because when he was getting out with his stolen goods, he came up to another crime in process, and being the ex-army medic he was John couldnt leave the unlucky security guard who got mortally injured. John managed to stabilize the man as he got the rest of the guards to help him but when he finished the coppers had finally arrived and he got caught. John couldn’t help but smirk as one of the security guards, who John had gotten to help, mouthed a “thank you” as John was being moved to the back of the police cruiser.
_____
Current time, years later: John is being framed, and D.I. Lestrade is intent on bringing John in for the crime. Sherlock gets in the middle.
[John never came home. John’s very much live body is being hidden in a small village still in the burning desert. The villagers don’t want to kill John but they also don’t want anyone to find him, because in doing so will cause troops to storm the village seeking revenge for housing an enemy. So John is being kept drugged and weak so he would stay quiet. Sherlock goes on a quest to find John and get him out.]
Captain John Hamish Watson is a war hero. He is MIA, while many believe him to have died, there are those who believe him to be alive somewhere.
For his valiant, and courageous efforts, a memorial statue was made in his honor and placed in the Wonders and Remembrance Museum [I made that up, couldn’t think of a proper name for a fictional museum] in London.
One Consulting Detective named Sherlock Holmes found himself inside after business hours.
_____
Sherlock sneaked a peek over the stone column, calculating the number of steps to each wing he needed to visit without being caught on camera.
Of course, he could have called Mycroft to take care of the cameras but this was more fun, and he wouldn’t have to give his brother a favor.
“What are you looking for?” A curious and soft voice spoke in his ear.
_____
In which Sherlock Holmes meets Captain John Hamish Watson, or gets to know his memory.
With the help of the world’s only consulting detective John might get a chance to find his body.
Bilbo convinced Thorin to take him shopping. Thorin had not imagined how great it would be. Thorin ends up bombarding everyone's phone with pictures of everything Bilbo tries on. Everything.
Azog is the owner of a firm. He needs a P.A. but no one will stay for the job. One day in comes Bilbo Baggins. In the first three minutes he's already gotten the security guard to spill his life's problems. In ten minutes he has figured out everyone's favorite tea. Azog is standing by the open elevator door, trying to hide his dropping jaw. His entire firm is filled with burly, scary looking men who growl at puppies and throw curses at the sun. And yet, here is an unassuming, tiny man who resembles a bunny next to these men, who is being catered to. He sees one of these said men offer Bilbo a chair while another is pushing in a cart full of finger sandwiches. His field of vision is blocked as the door to the elevator closes in front of his face. Azog closes his mouth and pushes the button to open the doors again. Azog clears his throat and pushes the words out in a gravely "Baggins, Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo turns and his eyes find Azog's, and he smiles. Azog feels warm for the first time.
Reverse Transporter. Sherlock has been on the tail of someone in Moriarty' s web who only went by the name of "Transporter". Sherlock had received word that the Transporter was transporting, so to speak, something all the way from Afghanistan. Sherlock breaks into a "safety house" after having seen the van he had been chasing enter a few hours before. Sherlock hides and quietly makes his way through the house. Coming up to a door he saw the light coming from when he was outside, he slowly turns the knob and the door swings opens silently. Lying on the bed is a body. Sherlock walk towards the bed and stares downwards. Sherlock's eyes take in details. It is a man simply only in a pair of jeans. His feet are bare. The man's chest slowly rises in a drug induced sleep. The movement moves Sherlock's eyes to a bandage wrapped shoulder and the arm in a sling. Slight stubble is growing on the man's cheeks. Tanned skin is warmed by the light of a lamp. Sherlock feels the urge to see the man's eyes. He stays there looking at the man until he hears someone approaching the room. Suddenly, there is shouting and running feet when the discovery of the open door is found. Sherlock reluctantly makes a dash for the window. He vows to himself that he will loose himself in the man's eyes. Preferably on their first date. Over one of Angelos' candles. And for the rest of his life.
Sherlock’s Unforgivable Mistake. Pre-asip.
Mycroft had gotten his baby brother to work a case for him. He was to find someone who was wanted by all branches of the British government for a numerous amount of actions. Eacg and every one of those branches wanted to get their hands of this sole person.
Sherlock was intrigued as to who would be able to cause that damage.
Sherlock meets one Captain John H. Watson. Sherlock is confused because he cannot fully read this ex-soldier. And he mistakes certain feelings from John, and from himself, as being a mastermind, trying to get closer to the British government’s brother.
Sherlock will regret this mistake all his life. He almost loses John before he even had him.
Sherlock turns John in to Mycroft as the person everyone is looking for, because for what other reason would someone willingly spend time with Sherlock?
Or why is it that Sherlock cannot fully deduce John H. Watson and gets a lot of those deductions wrong?
Who would cause Sherlock to be confused with the actions taken by this ex-army captain, if not for an evil mastermind?
As Sherlock tricks John into appearing at a warehouse surrounded by agents to take him in, John is trying to tell Sherlock something, but Sherlock doesn’t give John a chance to try and trick him one last time. Sherlock texts Mycroft that everything is ready and in storm the agents.
John falls unconscious as a tranquilizer hits him, his words cutting of.
Sherlock frowns as John’s eyes close. He feels something squeezing his heart. Sherlock cannot move as the agents carry John out and tuck him in to a van. The warehouse is empty once more except for Mycroft and Sherlock.
Sherlock’s brow is pulled down. His transport is tingling, trying to chase after John even though he is gone. Without looking at Mycroft Sherlock leaves.
Days after being back at Baker Street, Sherlock cannot forget John Watson. His brain will not delete John. He keeps replaying every day spent with the ex-soldier. Every laugh, every smile Sherlock got out of John. Every fond look the blond sent his way, every kind word, and every compliment. Even John’s constant nagging was because he cared for Sherlock.
Sherlock replays, and replays until he suddenly pauses. His body freezing, and his eyes snap open. Sherlock’s eyes swivel from side to side, never landing on one thing, reading streams of data.
Sherlock’s face goes pale.
All the feelings Sherlock was feeling, when his heart beat faster, when his heart skipped a beat, when his body burned, when his palms sweated. The feeling of satisfaction as he got John to giggle, his rushed action to get John happy after seeing him sad. Worried thoughts about if John had been taking care of himself, had he been sleeping.
John’s completely honest and un-secretive answers. Sherlock had deduced that John was telling the truth in everything but he had not seen John as innocent. Only as truly devious.
And because of his confusion, his inability to comprehend that John H. Watson was one in a million, that he would never meet someone like him again; he had made his greatest mistake.
He had condemned an innocent man.
He remembered John’s last words “Sherlock, I lo….”
Sherlock’s eyes teared with anguish.
A man who loved him, and accepted every bit of himself; even the parts that caused other people to punch him in the face.
A man who Sherlock, who finally understood, loved.
Sherlock loves Captain John H. Watson of the late Fifth Northumberland Fusiliers.
He springs up from the couch in a rush and runs out the door. Dialing Mycroft with one hand and signaling a cab with the other.
_____
Before the cab fully stopped Sherlock was already out, shouting into his phone. In panicked frustration Sherlock slams his phone closed. He barges into Mycroft’s office.
_____
“…Sherlock, he’s not here. Not anymore.
_____
Now Sherlock has to find John before he is lost, and once he finds John spend the rest of his life showing John how much he loves him.
John does ballet. When they were only little children John’s sister Harriet, tricked John into taking ballet. He loved it and continued to attend classes even though he told Harriet, or Harry for short, that he had left before the first class even started.
During John’s time in Afghanistan he rarely had extra time, but it didn’t matter at what time he got back to his tent, he worked on his ballet. It helped to quiet his mind from the disasters of each day, and made him consentrate on each of his muscles and balance. He might not be able to move around a lot and do some of the more demanding moves but he stretched and worked on his flexibility.
Upon being invalidated from the army, John had a limp and a wounded shoulder. One was healing and the other was psychosomatic, and John felt frustration and sadness at both his army career being taken and not being able to do ballet. John tried to stretch into positions at his bedsit, but ended in tears of anger when it hurt and his muscles didn’t react how he wanted them to.
_____
Sherlock never understood the mesmerizing catch that ballet had on people. How people could sit in silence and awe as someone, or a group of people, jumped or twirled from one side of the stage to the next.
Then Sherlock meets John Watson, ex-army doctor, and ex-ballet dancer.
Sherlock buys John a tiara. Because John is his prince[ss].
And John wears it to a crime scene, and to a chase. After catching and taking down the criminal, John nods his head in satisfaction, and straightens the tiara on his head.
Sherlock has John's military medals on a shadowbox, placard, etc. on the wall. During a drugs bust Anderson, while being nosy, drops the frame. Sherlock had been speaking with Lestrade but when he hears the glass shatter, he freezes. He turns slowly hoping that someone broke a science beaker. Then Sherlock sees Anderson's feet surrounded by broken glass, a bent and snapped frame and John's medals mixed with the wreckage. Sherlock turns frantic. His hands are shaking as he tries to pick out John's medals and he's getting small cuts on his fingers that bleed minutely. Lestrade tries to ask Sherlock what is wrong, but Sherlock stands up, whispers a "Get out." and begins to walk to his and John's bedroom. Again Lestrade tries to stop Sherlock, but Sherlock only stops enough to shout a "GET OUT." with a rough voice. Sherlock slams the door to their bedroom. Everyone is standing around trying to figure out what went wrong until Lestrade gives up and herds everyone out of 221B.
Remember that scene in TGG, when Sherlock and John were handcuffed together? Sherlock and John are on a date. They are always close, but on this day they wanted to feel even more closer to each other so they handcuffed themselves together. Nobody knows about John, and then Lestrade texts Sherlock begging for his help. Sherlock looks towards John because they are on their date, John smiles and tells Sherlock that it's okay. They take a cab and arrive at the crime scene. When they get out of the cab, Lestrade sees Sherlock getting out of the cab and appears to be pulling on something. It turns out he's pulling on someone he's handcuffed to. Lestrade tells Sherlock that he didn't know Sherlock was already on a case and walks towards his "prisoner," John, to arrest him. Sherlock keeps a hold of John's hand and pulls him even closer and slightly behind him. Sherlock knocks down all questions for explanations and introductions and heads to the scene, John glued to his side. Even their footsteps are synchronized. As Sherlock is explaining his deductions he's not paying attention to Lestrade, nor the rest of the officers. He's looking at his and John's hands held together first by their entertwined fingers and then to the handcuffs.
It was a surprisingly quiet day for the Orcs. So calm that Azog felt comfortable in separating from the band to take Bilbo to the field the Hobbit had seen during a hunt. Azog was crouched on a high rise hill overlooking the field so he could have a clear view of his Hobbit and anything that dared to get near.
Azog was remembering the word the Hobbit had used when referring to the field, beautiful. The Orc could not understand how it was beautiful, the only thing in his mind that could ever be beautiful was Bilbo. But if Bilbo said it was beautiful then by all that was trampled under his boots, it was beautiful. Although he still huffed out a snort when Bilbo called him handsome.
Azog was enraptured by the sight of his Hobbit in the field. Golden sunlight shimmered on in his skin, and glowed through his curls. Bilbo’s huge feet did nothing to disturb the wheat grass and his fingers swept through the dandillions.
Azog let out a harsh snarl as he heard a branch snap and dried leaves being crushed. Turning sharply he saw not a few of his band but a large group of men. Azog let out a strong of Orcish dialect that to the men sounded as curses but infact were alerting Bilbo to the danger.
Azog tilted his head to look at Bilbo, to find him gone. A smirk appeared on Azog’s lips, distorting them, before disappearing. Azog turned fully to the men.
The men attack, Azog growls.
_____
Bilbo was trying to crawl unseen through the fall grass. Looking up, realized it was useless. The warg that was guarding him earlier was practically standing over him. If there was anyone looking, the warg would be the only living thing they would see. Bilbo was completely hidden by it’s bulk, and all the fur.
Crawling out from under the warg Bilbo stood up and then promptly rolled his eyes. Even still the warg was taller than him.
The scream of a man made Bilbo break cover and run up the hill. The warg running behind him, following.
_____
Azog swung his mace catching a few men in the chest, the sound of breaking bones and intestines being ripped a melody to the Orc. Men lunged in again attempting to overpower the lone Orc, not knowing who he was.
Azog was holding back, not wanting to get into a bloodlust and forgetting that out here Bilbo was not safe.
The wind changes and Azog catches a familiar scent.
This was taking too long.
_____
Bilbo knows Azog can deal with the men, but he doesn’t like these men because they are trying to kill his mate.
Bilbo rushes through one side of the trees and the warg through other and create noise to make it seem like multiple sets of feet running away. The men quickly look around trying not to keep their sight away from the huge Orc in front of them, but it only takes a second.
the huge white Orc had melted into the forest and was staring at the men with predatory hunger. Azog’s sharp teeth appearing in a slow smile.
Azog knew what his mate was doing
_____
Bilbo was clutching the Warg’ s white fur as the Warg was dashing through the trees as if they weren’t even there.
The white warg jumped out into the Orc’ s campsite and Bilbo sank into the white fur gasping. The orcs got up at once seeing their leader’s mate alone.
the Orcs, upon hearing running feet that sounded nothing like Azog’s, getting closer they traded their meats and ale for weapons and got between Bilbo and whoever was coming.
the men burst out of the trees not expecting a camp full of angry Orcs. They slowly backtracked trying to get back to the flimsy safety of the thick forest. One man fell and as he was getting up saw the huge Orc they were fighting at their back. His yell alerted the other men and it was then they realised it was a trap.
the men were slowly being surrounded, their fear floating on the air as rain. Azog walked towards Bilbo who was still on the Warg. Azog stretched out his hand and lifted Bilbo’s face.
Azog smiles
_____
rain is falling swiftly onto the blood colored ground, trails of blood creating veins on the earth. The bodies of men wafting smoke as the fires are burned out.
Bilbo stops gazing outside and turns his eyes to look up. He sees Azog’s profile, there is a tightness around the Orc’s eyes, and square jaw is clenched.
Azog feels Bilbo’s eyes on him, and looks down. Azog meets his mate’s eyes and let’s out a breath, his face smoothing out. Azog curls his arm closer to Bilbo, pulling Bilbo in to his warmth. Bilbo closes his eyes and curls into Azog’ s chest. Azog looks out of their cave one last time before closing his eyes and following his mate.
Orcs are snoring or shifting around on their make shift beds, their bodies completely loose in sleep. The warmth of the cave is only disturbed by the cold from the rain at the entrance and the few Orcs who are standing watch, shifting their weapons as they drag on the ground.
Dwalin is expecting some new recruits, but they arrive a day early. So Dwalin is not at the training range, but Bilbo is. The Dwarves who are there with Bilbo are swarming over the hobbit, enjoying the food Bilbo always bring them.
Bilbo is leaving when the new Dwarves are entering. They see Bilbo, but the also see his braid that Dwalin had braided on their wedding night. Not believing the braid was real Bilbo is swarmed again, but not because these Dwarves were after his food.
Two grab Bilbo and one goes for his braid. Bilbo let’s out a gasped “Nooo..” when he sees the one Dwarf grab his braid, and begins to struggle.
The Dwarves who had been eating Bilbo’s food, finally notice the commotion and rush to remove the Dwarves from Bilbo, but not before the braid is completely undone.
Bilbo had tears in his eyes, running his fingers through his hair where the braid was. At that point Dwalin enters and bellows a “what is going on here!!!!” The Dwarves step sideways and show Bilbo behinds them.
Dwalin makes a straight line for his One. Gathering Bilbo in his strong arms he turns a scowl to the Dwarves who he did not recognise and see his bead in an outstretched hand. Connecting the dots, he doesn’t let go of Bilbo. With one huge paw snatches his bead then with the same hand, now in a fist, and slams it upon the Dwarf’s surprised face.
The thought that went through the Dwarf’s head before blacking out was “oh, that Fundinson..” having seen the runes on the bead but not realizing it was the same family name as the Dwarf they were supposed to meet.
_____
The next day found the guards sitting down in the shade, hungrily snatching up every morsel of food Bilbo has brought them, and enjoying every second.
Bilbo is sitting on a sheet next to them, slowly snacking on some fruits and cold meats and waiting for Dwalin to stop shouting at the new recruits long enough to turn back and get fed another bite by his One.
There are some new Dwarves entering Erebor. They heard that the King Under the Mountain has gotten a consort, but they assume it is a Dwarf. Upon entering they head to the markets and encounter a strange creature. They see Elvish ears, huge, furry feet, a hairless face, and golden curls. They close in on the strange creature wondering why they would allow a creature like this into the great city of Erebor. They push and prod Bilbo, and seeing the other merchants getting near to get the newcomers away, Bilbo tells them it's nothing, that it is fine and then leaves the market. But the Dwarf merchants know what they saw, and they love Bilbo and know he won't do a thing about it so they send someone to inform the King. The next time those new Dwarves see this strange creature is when they are in the great hall for a feast and to meet with King Thorin. Thorin had entered and sat with the rest of the Company at the front, and motioned for the food preparers to bring in the food. When there are many dwarves entering and going out to bring in more food, Bilbo appears at the doors. He begins to walk towards Thorin who always has the seat next to him free. But the new Dwarves see Bilbo and one gets a sneer on its face and gets up. Bilbo wasn't expecting the shove that came upon him, and sent him straight into a Dwarf ladden with food. When Bilbo stops falling he's on top of a poor Dwarf who got caught under him and they are both covered head to toe with food. Thorin and Company hear the big crash and look to see the cause, instantly seeing red when the see the Dwarf standing there with a smirk on it's face and Bilbo on the ground. Thorin had the Dwarf restrained, but the Dwaf had no idea why they were restraining him or why they are worrying over this hairless creature. Some Dwarves rush to help Bilbo and the other Dwarf up. Bilbo meets Thorin who was rushing towards him. Bilbo can see the rest of the company behind Thorin, with their worries, but furious faces. Thorin has his hands on Bilbo's cheeks, softly caressing his cheeks with his thumbs. After Bilbo nods that he's fine, then turns upon the Dwarf and his companions who have also been restrained at this point. A touch from Bilbo at Thorin's hand makes his stop, and Bilbo tells Thorin not to do anything until he gets back. Bilbo turns and heads to his and Thorin's rooms. Meanwhile the company has returned to their table, and Thorin is pacing back and forth near them. The restrained Dwarves are brought to the front of the hall, and they hear nothing. Everyone in the hall has stopped moving. The Dwarves look around unnerved, silent faces stare back. The quiet was broken with the wooden doors opening and in walks Bilbo, with his consort robes and head held high. And upon his head now sits the consort crown Thorin had lovingly crafted and gently placed upon Bilbo's head the first time. Bilbo walks to Thorin and takes his hand. Then finally turns to the Dwarf who had pushed him. The bearded face that looked at him with a sneer and a smirk have turned ash white with wide, fear filled eyes.
The Necromancer has taken Azog's mate and is using the Orc leader and it's Orcs for his own army. He used Bilbo to make Azog attack, and chase the Dwarves. Gandalf overheard Azog arguing with the Necromancer about how he promised him his mate back, but keeps pulling back to get Azog to do more. Now Gandalf has to convince Thorin and the Dwarves to somehow get close to Azog without causing a war.
John has skin like a snake. First John would do it himself with a lot of problems and sometimes causing patches to bleed since he didn’t always have time to do it while being in the army. Since moving in with Sherlock John never had that happen.
In a surprising way that John never though he would find someone who would even think of doing this for him, the consulting detective even stopped once in the middle of a case to gently rub the skin slowly until it fell off painlessly. Or if John had a stubborn patch, Sherlock would make a water bottle appear out of his pockets and moisten his own scarf and dab at John’s skin.
He sheds his skin, but someone clueless doesn’t know. One day this person yanks on John’ skin causing it to tear painfully since there was only a small amount loose.
