Echoes of Origin has begun!
This work is technically a gigantic prequel story to my Skylanders Dungeons and Dragons campaign, "Echoes of the Core!" Check out here on my Tumblr for more information regarding the campaign and its events! :D

Eugenie paced around her room. Half out of anxiety, half out of personal habit. There wasn't any particular reason why she felt this way. At least…not that she thinks. She had her dorm all to herself thankfully, so if this was any kind of anxiety attack she wouldn't have to deal with someone else during it.
Miss Eugenie Brooks. An exceptional student and young lady. Top of her class in school her whole life. So much so that she made the decision to skip an entire high school education to attend a prestigious university to kickstart her life.
Or at least. It was kind of her own decision. Her parents had more say in it than she really did.
Throughout her whole life, she was excited to go to school and loved to learn new things. Such excitement allowed her to push forward in her grades and classes. She showed plenty of promise and high intelligence even from a young age. Her parents praised her for it. It was alright at first, then she started to feel them grow almost addicted to the praise. Praising her for her hard work as a top student and praise to them for raising a model child. For the most part, she pushed through with a smile. Letting the praise push herself to grow even more in her studies.
But then she took the admissions test to skip high school and go to college. And it all went downward from there.
She began to grow far more quiet and self reserved ever since. Every once of her energy and every second of her time solely dedicated to her studies and nothing else. Not to mention how all of her peers and professors seemed to almost envy her for just how young she was. No one paid much attention to her. Scoffed at her when she turned their back away. She was just another number in this grand machine of producing doctors, lawyers, and other such money making careers.
Needless to say, she's not proud of any of this. Taking that admissions test was one of the worst decisions she’s ever made in her life.
She leaned fully against the windowsill of her dorm room. Foot bouncing and heart racing. Since being away from home, she's begun to learn just how detrimental everything has been to her. Her parents couldn't care any less about her. They only listen to her because of how smart she is. Constant bragging about how she's the epitome of a model student. All of the glory, yet none of the work put into it.
No time for making friends. No time for school events if they weren't mandatory. No time for hobbies of her own. Like everything in the world has been denied from her, all for the sake of being an honor student.
