Sometimes I wonder what pippin would be like if we had a different original cast—cause the only reason we have on the right track is because John Rubinstein wasn’t a strong dancer but wanted a number where he could dance so fosse made a scene where he took Rubinstein’s skills into consideration and made it fit his character, that’s why pippin’s (in regards to movement, not position) behind leading player most of the song
