Till had led you straight towards the Segyein city. He trailed the fence that separated the tall, glowing buildings from a humble town with absolutely no lights. He eventually found the building he was looking for and scaled the ladder to the roof. You followed up hesitantly, making sure to look around for any danger. The cityâs lights lit the area surprisingly well. Till was already sitting down, pulling out a pack of what you could only describe as âalien cigarettes.â He lit one and took a draw as you approached.Â
âIs this place abandoned?â You ask, understandably still anxious from the recent attack.
âWell weâll find out if itâs not.â Till replied with a shrug, âI come here pretty frequently and Iâve never had any trouble. The Segyein in this area are usually exiles from the city and society. Most donât give a fuck but if they do they donât harm humans because if they can capture us live they can sell us for a good amount of money.â
âOh,, but what if we get captured?â You stand, looking down at him, waiting for an invitation to sit down with him.
He noticed and patted the ground next to him. âTheyâd turn us into their fucking pets again⊠performing, doing whatever the fuck they want.â His entire being darkened, his outrage palpable through the furrowing of his brows to the way his teeth flash in the distant light.
âBut we were safe. They gave us food and a comfortable place to sleep.â You countered as you sat down beside him.
His head snapped towards you, his expression appalled and clearly regretting inviting you along. âMaybe you were safe. So many people, including myself, were put to death if we couldnât perform to their standards. We suffered all kinds of abuse.â His teal eyes bore into yours, his irises twitching. âBut yeah, because they never chose to put you up for adoption or force you onto a stage meant that it was âsafeâ for us humans.â
You went quiet immediately, eyes wide as you watched Tillâs nostrils flare before he turned away again. âSorry⊠I wasnât aware of all that. Fuck. Iâm so sorry.â
Silence stretches and you look down at your lap, embarrassed by your ignorance. Till took the time to suck on his cigarette again.
âEven if you didnât know what was truly happening, how could you be more content in captivity rather than being free?â Till asks, in a way that was condescending and clearly still pissed but genuinely curious.
You have to pause to think, you had never thought about that before. âI guess I never knew anything else. I never really left Anakt Garden. I was fed and entertained.. No one spoke about what it was like outside of our room. So I just never thought that there could be something better than what I had.âÂ
Till looked at you know, seeming to have forgiven you for your ignorance but still skeptical. âYou still complain about being out of captivity though,,â he pointed out. âYouâve been able to experience how much better it is out here.â
You bristle, âItâs hardly been a day since I escaped! And Iâve already been attacked by a- a- a rabid alien! Fuck you mean âmuch better?ââ
âYou can do whatever the hell you want! You came here for fucksake!â Till countered, âIn captivity the only place you knew was the garden! You said it yourself!â
You huff indignantly, growing more frustrated that he was so set on convincing you that life was all sunshine and rainbows out of captivity. âYeah! The only place I knew was the garden. So youâll understand why being out here is so overwhelmingââ
âUngrateful!â He snarled again, using the same line as last chapter- I mean earlier.
âIâm not trying to be ungrateful. It will just take some time for me to get used to being free..â
There was another stretch of silence before Till spoke, his tone less harsh. âWell this is a good place to start.â He looked out at the glowing landscape, pressing his odd cigarette to his lips. âItâs pretty at night.â
You survey the area. The lights from the city created silhouettes, a dazzling pink outlining the buildings and overgrown alien shrubbery outside of the cityâs fence. âIt is,â you hum your agreement. You follow the trail of smoke floating above back to Till. The lights made his features stand out against night.Â
Alien Stage isnât yaoi or yuri and I feel like there are people who donât understand this. I only find hehe yaoi hehe yuri jokes about Alien Stage funny if theyâre made by actual fans. If someone has just seen a clip of Alien Stage or an Ivan gay joke on TikTok and went on to make these jokes themselves, it irritates me, because thatâs such an oversimplification of the themes of the show and the characters. Yaoi and Yuri are genres, not synonyms for gay. Alien Stage is Sci-fi/dystopian story and illustrates how love can become oppressive and how toxic and harmful an emotion like love, that is seen as such a kind, beautiful emotion can be, and how under certain circumstances and environments, people will act and love in ways that are selfish, cruel, and unhealthy. Iâm not calling anyone a fake fan or trying to gatekeep, at all, it just frustrates me when people take this thing I loveâthat they know nothing aboutâand strip it of its meaning to makes jokes about words they barely know the meaning of. If you actually like Alien Stage, this doesnât apply to you at all, and the jokes are hilarious.

No NSFW so the turtles can be any age you'd like
There's no way the turtles have any game and I doubt they would manage to get themselves a partner, let alone have an ex, and they are still pretty young in this one too, but for the sake of this let's just pretend that they all have an ex.
When I wrote this I wasn't super focused on making sure the reader or the exes were gender neutral. I think I caught all the fem pronouns but I'm very sorry if I missed any.

Raph:
After Raph introduced you to his dad for the first time, you were feeling pretty confident. You've known his brothers for a while and they adore you, you fit right in. Meeting Splinter went well too, or at least you thought. You were nervous obviously and not quite yourself because of it but luckily it wasn't unbearably awkward.
You pad through the lair on your way to the kitchen, admiring the graffiti and larger than life look of everything. Raph had told you that he was going to get snacks, but after waiting in his room for ten minutes without his return of any sign from him you decided you'd check on him. You mainly intended on annoying him because you were bored now, but that was beside the point.
As you neared the kitchen, you heard Splinter and your boyfriend having a conversation:
"... I just don't get why you're settling for her, Red."
"Pops, I-"
"Natalie was much better. You should bring her back."
You pause right outside the kitchen to listen in, realizing they were talking about you and... Natalie, which from the sounds of it was Raph's ex.
Raph sighed, "I know you don't like y/n because you don't think our ambitions line up, and she didn't call you 'Mr. Hamato'-"
"-And she shook my hand wrong."
"Uh-huh and she shook your hand wrong, but-"
"Natalie and I saw eye to eye -and not just because she was short- she agreed with what I said and knew how to treat me right, unlike y/n."
"I know," Raph agreed and you had heard enough. You swallow down your devastation and rush back to his room.
How was this possible? Things had gone so well! Getting parent approval was like the most important part of a committed relationship, and he likes Raph's ex more than you. Does Raph like his ex more? He must.
You sat on Raph's bed criss-cross in your self loath when he came in. He carried your favorite fruit and chips and wore a tired grin.
âSorry I took so long, Pops was giving me a hard time.â
You bite back a sour remark about already knowing all about it. Instead, you give a nod and offer your sympathies.Â
Raph was quick to notice something was off. âIs there something wrong, y/n?â
âNo.â You replied shortly, which definitely confirmed Raphâs suspicions.
â... Are you sure?â
âYes. Why would there be anything wrong?â
âBâcause y-â
â-I mean I'm getting to hang out with my perfect boyfriend whom I don't deserve, you got me my favorite snacks, meeting your dad went well -or so I thought, because apparently it actually didn't!â You rambled on, clearly spiraling. You didn't even know the tears had started falling until Raph crooned softly and wiped one from your cheek. You try to shoo him away in your embarrassment to no avail. âSorry, sorry.â
â⊠Y/n, why are you being like this? Did something happen.â Raph rubbed your arm soothingly.
âI heard you and Splinter talking in the kitchen.â
Raph seemed to think for a second before he realized but still feigned ignorance. âAh,â he gave a few nods of understanding. âWhat was it that you heard?â
âDo you like your ex more than me?â You nearly blurted out, fresh tears rushing to your eyes and making your chest feel uncomfortable.
Raph sighed and looked over his shoulder to send a glare out of his room door to the kitchen where his dad was surely at.Â
âNo, I donât like my ex more than you, y/n.â He sat down on the bed next to you. âIâm sorry about my dad. He only experienced her when she was on her best behavior.â
You sniffle and wipe your eyes, âYour dad doesnât like me.â
âI donât give a crap if Splinter likes you are not. I wonât let him come between us. I promise.â
You nod and look at your lap, messing with your hands. It made you feel a little better knowing Raph wasnât going to let Splinter affect your relationship.Â
Raph placed the plate of fruit and chips in your hands. When you look up at him he offers you a loving smile and kisses your forehead.Â
âCâmon,â he scooted back further onto his bed and patted the spot next to him. He smiled and moved to cozy up with him. The two of you ate and continued your day together.
Leo:
So you found Leoâs ex on Instagram. You knew it was a bad idea to look through her posts but you couldnât help yourself. She was stunning to put it simply. Like dead gorgeous. What the actual freakers was Leo doing with you? I mean she was everything you wanted to be and more.
After marinating in your self deprivation and not being able to see your boyfriend the same for days, you brought up your insecurity with your best friend. They were good help as always. Calling his ex a bop, calling Leo a female dog like any best friend should, and reassuring you that you are beautiful. Everything was good until you once again looked through his exâs photos. It's a vicious cycle.
One day you were hanging out at the lair doing the stuff you do on your phone with Leo looking over your shoulder. You open Instagram and of course you had his exâs account already pulled up. You stiffen and immediately close the app, pretending like nothing happened.Â
Leo had noticed though, and wasn't able to keep his stupid mouth shut of course. âWas that my ex?! What are you doing looking at her account?!â
You purse your lips and look down at your home screen in shame.
Leo covered his mouth after he realized what he had said. âI mean⊠it must be a complete and hilarious coincidence you had her account pulled up, yeah?â
You couldn't explain yourself. Well this was an awkward situation.Â
âY/n?â
âSorry, sorry. I'm sorry. I stumbled across her account and I looked through it. Are you upset?â
He paused before responding, something the slider rarely did. âNo, I'm not upset. I don't really have a reason to be freaking out over you seeing my exâs photos.â
You nod, still tense and unable to make eye contact. There was a moment of uncomfortable silence between you two that seemed to stretch on for way too long before you broke it. âShe's really pretty. Like, a lot prettier than me.â
Leo makes a few stuttery attempts at starting a sentence, he eventually landed on an explanation that explained nothing. âShe was a mistake! A-a huge mistake.â
Totally confused, you send him a side eye that made him panic more.
âOur relationship was really short and shallow. I purely talked to her with my cloaking brooch on and she had unrealistic expectations.â He blurted.
âShe's still stunning, though. You pulled someone as gorgeous as her and you're settling for me?â You say through a sigh.
Leo recoiled as if offended. âSettle for you? You are not some rebound y/n! I did not have a very good relationship with that woman. You get me so much better. You understand my humor, I don't have to hide my identity around you, and you put up with my ego. And not to mention your beauty. You out slay her any day, I promise.â
You giggle at his last comment, feeling better. âYou really think so?â
âYes, I have no doubt.â He gave you an affectionate head butt and a tight squeeze.
âThanks, Leo. I think you out slay her too.â
He rolled his eyes and pushed you away, feigning offence. âAh screw you.â He flipped you off with his sassy attitude, sending both of you into a fit of laughter.
Donnie:
Every now and then youâd see pictures of Donnieâs ex when he was going through his camera roll. If the picture was ever obviously seen he would apologize and delete the photo. âAh, so sorry, y/n. I thought I deleted all the pictures of her already.â He would explain. You weren't upset about it, he had a life before you of course and you trusted him. However, after seeing these photos you started to get an idea of what she looked like: exactly Donnieâs type. You knew Donnie had a thing for cute but mean girls. His brothers would tease him about it or he would make the occasional comment. You knew that you didn't really match that description but seeing that his ex was his ideal type, you started feeling a little self-conscious.
One day, you and Donnie were playing a video game, cozied up on the couch together. A character that looked absolutely his type was fighting in a cut scene. Donnie was staring a little too wide eyed.
âShe's just your type, isn't she, Dee.â You tease, feeling that twinge of jealousy about how he was looking at the screen even if it was just a video game character that is obviously fan service.
Donnie laughed, rolling his eyes. âYou know how I like âem.â
You don't know why but you felt like starting something, âLike your ex?â
âWhat?â
âYour ex. She's your type.â
âW-well, I mean, she⊠I-â he fidgeted with his controller, âWhy would you bring that up?â He tried to be light hearted and chuckled nervously.
âMm, no reason. She's clearly your type, and I am not.â
âYou are my type!â He exclaimed, getting defensive. He paused the game, turning to look at you with a very hard set look of disdain.
âDon't give me that. I'm not cute or mean.â You sunk into yourself as his scrutinous look grew more serious with your self deprecating words.
âNo. Y/n, you are very cute! Don't you ever say that you aren't.â
âNot reall-â
âYou are. I will not be arguing about how absolutely gorgeous you are. Got it?â Donnieâs scowl contrasted the complements he was giving you.
You sigh, âOkay, but we can at least agree that I'm not mean. I couldn't ever be mean to you.â
His face softened a bit as he nodded. âYou are not mean,â he agreed. âExcept for when you're bullying me about being a nerd!â He pointed an accusatory finger at you.
You grin and stick your tongue out at him. âYou are a nerd, though. I am purely stating the facts. That's beside the point, your ex is more your type than I am.â
âGh- No! Stop that!â He sputtered. âLook. Let me explain something. When I talk about my ideal âtypeâ Iâm joking, especially when I say âmean.â My ex was mean, like bitchy mean. It's partially why I broke up with her actually. She was rude and self centered. You are neither of those things and I love you for that.â
You looked down at your controller. Despite him explaining a hardship that he had gone through, you were smiling. âReally?â
âReally.â
You set your controller down and throw your arms around his shoulders in a hug, pressing your forehead into his neck.
He, in true Donatello fashion, stiffened and awkwardly patted you on the back. âHeh, I promise you are definitely better than my ex.â
You hug him even tighter, making him carefully push you off. You grin cheekily at him while he huffs at you with a pout. âWhy don't we get back to playing the game..â
âWith the 10/10 baddie,â you tease
He scoffed and scooted closer to you. âNah, I've got a 10/10 baddie right here.â He smiled at you affectionately, a rare gesture, and kissed your cheek.
Mikey:
Okk so I just canât see Mikey having an ex so instead he has a best friend that he was really close with when he was little :)
Mikey talked about Harper A LOT. Like at least once a day he would be doing something and it reminded him of her and then heâd go on a tangent about her. He would tell a story about something they did when they were little or talk about how cool she is. This was fine at first. You thought it was cute that Mikey had a childhood friend when he had that âwhole situationâ going on. It got to a point, though. You started feeling like he liked Harper more than he liked you, even when he couldnât even see her. He started saying that he missed her. She had moved when they were both young and neither had a way of communicating with the other.Â
You sat on the floor in Mikeyâs room painting with him. You hummed as you painted a basket filled with flowers. You intended to give the painting as a gift to your boyfriend.
When he tried to peer over to see what you were making, you covered it with your arms so he couldnât see. âNo peeking! Itâs a surprise!â You grin at him playfully.
He stuck his bottom lip out at you with narrowed eyes, feigning his mild frustration. âWell you donât get to see mine either, then!â He scooted his body so you couldnât see his canvas.
âDidnât want to see it anyway,â you retorted, joking but Mikey didnât take it that way.
âAw..â Mikey gave you a sad look over his shoulder, completely shattering your heart.
âNonono! I didnât mean it!â You desperately explain, not meaning to hurt him.
He picked up his canvas and supplies and moved further away from you. âYou still donât get to see til Iâm finished.â
âFiinnneeee,â you draw out, going back to your painting.
When you were both done with your paintings, the two of you sat down across from each other, prepared to turn the canvases around to show the other.
âAlright. 1⊠2⊠3..!â
You both turn your paintings around and gasp at each otherâs art.
Mikey gasps because he thought your art was beautiful.
You gasp because he had painted a picture of Harper. Your face immediately fell, a look of fury contorting your features. âSeriously, Mikey!? You painted HER!?â
ââŠYeahâŠ?â Bless his poor oblivious heart because he didnât know he did anything wrong.
âWhat are you even doing dating me when you clearly want Harper!â You stood up, dropping your canvas and stalking towards the door.
Mikey leaped up and grabbed your arm before you could leave. âY/n, no!â
You tried to pry your hand away with no avail.
âI donât like Harper like that. Iâve just been reminiscing about childhood recently.â
Come to think of it, he had been talking about things he did when he was younger, but it hadnât stood out to you the same way his stories about Harper had.
âIâm sorry that Iâve been talking about her so much. Iâll stop! I promise you mean so much more to me than a childhood friend.â Mikey practically clung to your arm, looking at you with wide eyes.Â
You couldnât be upset with him. Your gaze softened and you turned to hug him. He hugged back even tighter. âSorry I overreacted. Your painting is nice.â
âNo, don't be sorry. I see why it upset you.â He pulled away to look at the paintings again. âAnd I really like yours too. You gave the flowers so much texture!â
âItâs supposed to be a gift for you.â You pick it up off of the floor where you had discarded it and offered it to him.
He took it gleefully, jumping up and down. âOhmigosh, thank you so much, y/n!â
I was going through my saved tiktoks and I found an alnst video from before I got interested in it that I had saved bc I though the fan animation was nice

The sound of children could be heard through the stale walls of the building you and Bailey were settling into. You recognized Hyunaâs voice, shushing the children and warning them of the Segyein. You figured it was dangerous to even be this close to alien urbanization, let alone have obnoxious kids roaming around.Â
The sleeping quarters were separated by age, meaning you and Bailey were in the same building as the rest of the adults. You didnât have any belongings so your space was an uncomfortable cot on the ground with a singular piece of fabric as a makeshift blanket. If you were being honest you would have rather been back in captivity where the beds were more comfortable and you didnât have to be afraid. Dewey had provided you with some food, so that was appreciated of course. You also got to meet the infamous Isaac.
Bailey on the other hand seemed plenty content with the living situation. They flopped down onto their cot and said, âIâm so glad the Rebellion rescued us!â
âRescued us from what exactly?â You ask somewhat rhetorically, you didnât understand the hype.
âThe aliens!â Bailey exclaimed, âCaptivity! Having to perform just to be killed if we arenât good enough!âÂ
âAt least we had comfortable beds,â you mumbled. âAnd we both know damn well you and I were never going to perform.â You and Bailey had spent your entire time in captivity practicing to be good enough to perform, but the Segyien never fancied you. It was hard to watch friends be taken and adored by the Segyien while others were taken and executed.
â-Be fucking grateful.â
You and Bailey both jumped, frightened by the sudden intrusion. You hadnât realized anyone was in the building with you. It was the strange person with the bike. Will? Was that his name? Oh, Till.
âWe risk our lives to save yours,â he snapped, placing his bike helmet down by his own cot and removing his jacket.
âExactly,â Bailey smirked and looked at you in a way that pissed you off.
You roll your eyes and glare at them, âWeâll see what your opinion is after sleeping on that for a night.â You gesture to the cot.
âYou can go out scavenging if you want a different bed,â Till piped up again, clearly becoming more frustrated by your defiance.
âOh that actually sounds like fun!â Bailey perked up some, âY/n, do you wanna go scavenging with me?â
âMaybe some other time..â You plop down onto that uncomfortable cot you had been complaining about. âThe sun is setting anyway.â
Evening turned to night and you very quickly learned that sleeping would be practically impossible. You were in a new place, there were strange sounds, and your bed was basically as good as the concrete floor.Â
So you make the obvious decision of sneaking out!
It was actually pretty easy. Nearly everyone in the sleeping quarters was,, well sleeping, and those who werenât didnât give a fuck that you were leaving.Â
It was humid but still chilly outside. The Segyeinsâ city lights glared not too far away, you took off in the opposite direction. You hop the already falling apart fence that did little to enclose the Rebellionâs headquarters. You take a glance behind you, making sure you could recognize the area so you wouldnât get lost. Thatâs when you recognize Till sitting on a crate by the sleeping quarters. Smoke drifted above his head as he stared directly at you. His lack of expression unnerved you and so continued your trek away from the Rebellion.Â
The landscape was as expected; kind of post apocalyptic looking- other worldly shrubbery over growing outdated, abandoned civilization. However, it was eerily quiet and you got the feeling that something was off.Â
You wandered into what you assumed was a small, abandoned village. It didnât take long to realize that it was in fact not abandoned..
You peaked into one of the houses and a low growl boomed from inside. An alien came crashing through, tearing through the doorway and rushing you with such speed that you could barely respond. Something was wrong with this alien. It wasnât acting like the rest, it reminded you of a rabid animal.Â
You throw your weight in the other direction, nearly stumbling to the ground but you managed to keep your balance and ran.Â
Out of the corner of your eye you saw a figure burst out of some nearby shrubbery. Soon after you hear a snarl from the alien and a human grunt. You glance over your shoulder to see Till with his arm around the alienâs neck, slashing its throat with a blade. Blood flew through the air, landing on the ground and splattering on you and Till. More blood spilled from the alienâs maw as it collapsed.Â
You stop running but keep a safe distance as you watch Till cautiously disengage from the beast.Â
âJesus fuck-â He panted, wiping blood from his arm in disgust.Â
You carefully inch towards the now limp alien. ââŠYou killed it..?â
Till bristled, âWell yeah! What did you want me to do? Sing it a lullaby and hope it falls asleep? Are you an idiot?â
âO-oh.. Iâm sorry. Youâre right,,â You shrink, now looking at the massive corpse instead of making eye contact with the person who had just saved you.
âLook,â Till sighed, âI know you just escaped captivity but surely you have some kind of survival instincts!â
ââŠit looked abandoned..â you mumbled, ashamed.
âWell it wasnât, and now the Segyein will know we are nearby.â
âYou didnât have to kill it!â You shot back.
âIt was gonna kill you!â
âI wouldâve preferred that over this.â You huff under your breath.
The sharp glare Till gave you told you he heard. After a few moments of awkward silence he asked, âWhat are you even doing out here at night anyways?â
âI couldnât sleep. I guess I figured Iâd be able to find a better mattress like you suggested earlier,â you respond, trying to relax after the scuffle.Â
âWell, you arenât gonna find anything in the dark. Plus itâs dangerous,â Till pointed out. âThereâs this place I know -I was headed there before I saw you- you wanna come with me?â
âWith mattresses?â
âNo, dumbass..â
This highkey might turn into an enemies to lovers at this rate

âThe door is just up ahead!â Bailey called over their shoulder, their legs carrying them faster than the rest of you through the dim hallways.
That strange person on the motorcycle had given the group directions to escape and a place where you would be safe. You didnât recognize them, you couldnât if you tried. They had a helmet on and you could only see wisps of grayish teal hair from underneath. They had let you all out of the room you were held in and drove off. They hadnât spoken a word. Only gave you a piece of paper with a map and you showed a flower.
You and Bailey were older than the rest of the dozen that were captured with you. The rest of the group was primarily older teens and a few younger. No one knew their exact age or birthday for that matter. The Aliens deprived you of that information.
The door Bailey spoke of came into view. They leaned into it with their shoulder and yelped as the door automatically opened. They stumbled and hit the ground. A few of the younger teens snarked and you helped Bailey to their feet.
âCareful. We donât know anything about this world..â You remind them as they dust their clothes off, face flushed with embarrassment.Â
âI know y/n. Thanks.â They ran after the rest of the group without another glance at the building they had lived in for so many years.Â
You didnât look back either as you ran. You fucking hated those sterile walls with fake paintings of Earth and plastic plants. There was no use in being sentimental over a place that had no value but a place that you resided in. Your bare feet thumped on the pavement as you ran with the rest of the group through the bright, colorful streets of the alien world. The building towered above you, lights flashed, and strange sounds blared.
You did single out one sound from the rest however.Â
A shriek rang out in a language you recognized as one that the aliens used. The people at the front of the group came to a quick stop and you nearly crashed into them. The alien you had heard was panicking at the sight of the humans, and was babbling in their foreign language. The scene drew the attention of other aliens on the street. It was very quickly turning into a threatening situation as Aliens yelled and waved their limbs and you.
BANG! BANG!Â
An alien dropped, blood spraying the streets.Â
Chaos ensued.Â
Aliens ran, screaming in a weird distorted way that you would expect from extraterrestrials.
A human man leaped out of the shadows of an alley pointing a gun at any alien that hadnât already been scared off. The rest quickly scampered away, throwing obvious choice words from their language over their shoulder at the man. He has shoulder length bleached blonde hair, his brown shoots showing. He wore mostly black and had a mask covering his face. âThis way!â He shouted at the group as he swiftly ducked into an alley.
The journey was stressful, always looking over your shoulder, climbing over and crawling under fences, and the teens made it harder with their constant gripping. The man led you all through a tunnel and you were sure you would be ambushed in that dark cavern. However you emerged unscathed into the sunlight -or otherstarsimilartothesunonthisplanet light. The rest of the trek was relatively easy, you entered an area with evenly spaced buildings, and the man took the group inside one. You were greeted by a surprising number (meaning around ten) of humans of different ages. Most seemed to be you and Baileyâs age while the rest were children too young to be left alone.
âHoly shit,, what is this place?â Bailey mumbled, looking around in awe. You werenât really sure what there was to ogle at. The building was pretty plain, only a few tables, chairs and crates with rations and supplies. It was exciting to see other people, however. You only ever knew the group you grew up withâŠwell you were moved from a different group along with Bailey but thatâs a piece of lore for another day.Â
The man that had led you all here took a deep breath before dramatically saying, âWelcome to the rebellion!â His announcement was met with a single whoop one of the members observing but other than that it was awkward silence. âUhh,, heh. Youâre free! You donât have to perform for the Segyein anymore! Yaayyyy!â The man clapped, trying to get a rise out of the group.
A few teens clapped along hesitantly, not understanding what it really meant to be free.
âOkay I suppose I should introduce everyone.â The man rubbed the stumble on chin, searching for a good transition to alleviate the awkwardness. âIâm Dewey, Iâm kind of the one that knows the area. Iâve got street smarts,, if you will.â He padded towards a woman with long brown hair who was surveying the group of newcomers with her arms crossed. âThis is Hyuna.â
âHey. Iâm the leader of the rebellion. Weâll get you guys settled in just a bit. Itâs always good to have more people in our ranks.â Hyuna spoke, her voice collected and commanding.Â
âThis is Till.â Dewey gestured to a man wearing that same bike suit as the stranger earlier. He had a grayish slightly grown out buzz, and scars visible on his neck from under his turtleneck. âHe was the one that broke you guys out of the facility!â
Till acknowledged the group with a nod before going back to assisting one of the children throwing a fit.Â
Dewey looked around before addressing Hyuna, âIs Isaac around?â
âNo, heâs caught up with a different group that was attacked by the Segyein.â Hyuna responds.
âOh shit! Does he need help?âÂ
âIâm sure they can hold their own. Weâve got enough to deal with here anyways.âÂ
â...Alright,â Dewey turned back to the group. âAny questions?â
Bailey spoke up, âYeah, what the fuck does the rebellion even do?âÂ
âWeâre trying to stop the exploitation of humans that the Segyein use to entertain themselves.â Hyuna answers.
âWhat are the Segyein?â You ask.Â
Dewey responded this time, âThe Segyein are the aliens that were holding you captive. They could be very dangerous if they find our refuge here.âÂ
âWeâre working on breaking out those who are captured-â
â-And finding missing people.â Till interrupted Hyuna. It was obvious whoever was missing was a touchy subject and the members of the rebellion took an unspoken moment of silence.Â
After that grim moment, Hyuna broke the silence with a forced bright tone, âOkay! Iâm sure you all would like to see where you'll be staying, yeah?â
âŠ
âDewey, show them their sleeping quarters.â
