Rise of the Guardians Pitch and Jack by ~blackfreakSniper
I swear, every time they said âPitchâ in Rise of the Gaurdians I thought they said bitch.
âWell thatâs what he is, isnât he?â
"Very funny."
Word association time! Send me a word and my muse will say the first word that comes to their mind.
( I should never attempt to multitask really. Never. Â
Things should be less distracting and a lot more chill for me after Friday like dang I just can't wait to be on Christmas break )

âTerrified silence⌠Good.â
Try confusion.
I just want to know what a metaphysical being such as your self wants with me. It seems⌠out of place to present yourself like this.
You do have an ominous aura, though.
"I don't usually present myself at all, that's not my way. Or rather it's just not a very smart way."Â
"In fact you shouldn't be able to see me..." he narrowed his eyes, curious.
Pitch was getting a little tired of the jabs at his home. It wasnât dank at all. Dark, yes, but not quite dank. Though heâd taken to avoiding it now that he was free of the nightmareâs torment. How quickly they flocked back to him and the fear he inspired was nothing short of amazing. He fixed Jack with a blank look, though there was still anger beneath the surface. âThereâs nothing to fear but fear itself. A wonderful human sayingâŚâ he started, stroking the mareâs mane once before it left his side, snorting. Another child would sleep restlessly. âPeople believe in fear. More than they believe in me and you and all the guardians. To become one with fear is to be always believed in. Always seen and known in the hearts of every mortal.â He sighed wistfully.
âBut you wanted to be good and accepted by people who donât actually care about you. And before you say they do, I have to ask where they are now when youâre starting to look a little⌠afraid.âÂ
Pitch smirked, eyes brightening deviously as he takes an intimidating step froward. What dark dream sand he can muster coils around his body loosely, threatening.
Without even realizing he was falling into the obvious reaction that Pitch wanted until a moment after, Jackâs stance shifted, bare feet finding purchase on the ground, staff clenched in two hands and pointed at the dark being. His eyes narrowed, and he grit his teeth, shifting forward and jabbing his staff at the air towards Pitch.
âIâm not afraid of you!â He snapped, wishing a part of him didnât doubt in the statement. âAnd theyâre not here because they donâtâŚthey donât know Iâm here.â
And now came the silent curses and âJack youâre an idiotâ thoughts; really, he hadnât had anything on his mind besides the overwhelming temptation to find Pitch and irritate the hell out of him. That was how it always worked with Jackâleap before looking. Donât think about the consequences of your actions until youâve already gone through with them.
Donât realize youâve ventured into the lionâs den until itâs awake, growling, and hungry.
Pitch was the lion. Jack was the fool that had poked the lion awake.
âYou donât stand a chance against me, Pitch. Or the others. You can stand there and look threatening all you want, but you canât do anything.â
"Ah-" Pitch grinned at the slip of information. How careless of Jack, to tell him he was alone and not a single ally knew where he was. He was still holding to his bravery, or at least the illusion of it. The boogeyman wasn't really sure if foolishly confronting an enemy counted as courage. It wasn't a tactical decision he'd ever have made. Jack's recklessness had gotten him into this situation before and this time Pitch was going to take full advantage of it.Â
"Maybe I'm not as powerful as I once was, but you don't know what I'm capable of," he sneered, upset that Jack would presume he was weak. Even if that was the case, he'd liked to think the illusion of the strength and power he'd had was still intact somewhat. "and I'm not worried about the others... at least thanks to you."
"Tell me, why did you come here? Having second thoughts perhaps?"

"Terrified silence... Good."

âYouâre just jealous.â
"Absolutely, Jack. Your staff is so unbreakable."

"Tricksters... I seem to attract them like flies these days, whether I like it or not."
Do I portray my muse well enough?

Pitch is my fav I canât help it
He stroked over the mareâs nose, twirling a bit of black sand in between his fingers. With a look cast back to Jack it was easy to see the nightmare made him uncomfortable, wary. Though Pitch was merely a friend to them, not their master at all, it made him thrilled to have some control back.
âYou wouldnât have had to have been and neither would I. The guardians wouldâve failed if you had only chosen differently.â He grit the words out, frustrated that heâd lost because of Jack. Because his offer of friendship had been rejected.Â
âBoth of our losses, if you want to be that precise.âÂ
Jack didnât miss the brief look of smug satisfaction on Pitchâs face and realized precisely how wary he must have become in the face of the nightmare that had appeared. It occurred to him that, despite the fact he was immortal, he was physically and mentally still a child.Â
His fear of Pitchâwhile he denied its existenceâcould very well empower the boogeyman.
Pale lips pursing, Jack stood from where heâd plopped down casually before. He needed to get out and away from Pitch before the whole âempoweringâ thing got worseâŚfor him, at least. âMaybe I wouldnât have had to hide out in a dank hole like you do now, but Iâd still have been feared. I told you before, and I still mean it: thatâs not what I want.â
Pitch was getting a little tired of the jabs at his home. It wasn't dank at all. Dark, yes, but not quite dank. Though he'd taken to avoiding it now that he was free of the nightmare's torment. ( Posting for Jack then I'll be off for the nightttt, sorry to all who I didn't get to reply to! I won't forget about your threads! )

âDracula? Ah, the pleasure is mine, truly. I donât believe weâve ever had the occasion to meet in person but Iâve seen your work. True terror is always nice to come by.âÂ
I assure you the pleasure is mine. You flatter me, sir. And you of course have no need to introduce yourself; your reputation precedes you.
"I'm sure it does, but I'd rather you called me Pitch Black instead of my other associated names. The boogeyman just doesn't quite do it when I'm not really at work." Pitch smirked, extending a hand for the vampire. "How has this century been treating you?"
