There are a lot of things to get used to about being out-of-doors, and the sky is one of them. Pictures don't do it justice. It is huge. He can't see it all at once without turning his head--his eyes aren't big enough. It has so many colors, not just different shades, but brilliant, bright colors that seem to serve as their own light, as though it were an enormous backlit screen. And stars--!
He is so caught up in the stars over his head that he doesn't see whatever it is that catches his shoe and sends him sprawling. Right in front of somebody, too.
