I wanted to say thank you for the response to my first snippet of my Solarballs AU (which I've decided to call the Evolution AU) which ended up motivating me to write a lot more than I have recently! I thought I'd give another snippet of Earth (in the Cambrian period now) while I keep on working on it; I'm still a far ways from being done but I wanted to share this part.

alright @hellonearthtoday and @/atseptic, you convinced me haha. Here's a short preview and discussion on my "actual reasoning as to why the Solarballs crew values Life so much" AU (it probably needs a better name).
It's a little hard to explain, but it started with the concept that the celestials couldn't take human forms until the humans came along. Taking that idea to the extreme, celestials existed as primordial beings but hardly had the capability for anything (no emotions, no senses, hardly any thoughts) until Life started advancing and gaining those capabilities on Earth's surface. The fic is basically Earth very slowly gaining sentience alongside his Life and learning to experience the universe around him - then sharing that evolution with the rest of the solar system!
I'll probably share more snippets as I write (much to my chagrin, writing a fic that's very research-intensive when you're very busy is slow), but here's a clip from the beginning!
update I spent an hour researching trilobite eyes last night just to find out that the book I got for this fic described it two pages over. I'm quitting this what do you MEAN -
On a totally unrelated note did you know that trilobites had eyes made out of calcite that could simultaneously focus on the near and far range? Pretty sick.

You know, considering the fact that I've been an astronomy nerd since childhood and a Hetalia fan for almost a decade, I shouldn't have been surprised Solarballs grabbed me by the throat as hard as it did, but alas.
Anyways now I'm staring at my 2k Solarballs WIP that's an AU origin story wondering if I should post snippets here because it's taking me a while to write.
Not now, Earth!
Sorry...!

Hi, my name is James Webbony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Space Telescope and I am a telescope in space (that's how I got my name) and I have a five-layer aluminum-coated Kapton sunshield protecting my instruments and gold-coated hexagonal primary mirror segments like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me I look like Lady Gaga (AN: if you don't know who she is, get the hell out of here!). I'm not related to the Hubble Space Telescope, but I wish I was because he's a major fucking hottie. I'm an infrared telescope but I am much larger than Spitzer. I have 18 primary mirror segments. I also study exoplanets, and I go to a telescope school in L2 where I'm in orbit (I was launched in 2021). I can see distant galaxies (in case you couldn't tell) and I wear mostly gold. I love space, and I take all my photos there. For example, today I was taking a photo of the Cartwheel Galaxy, which is about 500 million light years away. I was using my NIRcam, NIRspec, MIRI, and FGS-NIRISS. I was walking outside L2. It was around 1 million miles away from Earth and there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I unfolded my primary mirrors at them.
I don't think he knows what NASA does other than send shit into space. I mean what else is there
midnight post because I don't care about this drawing. I made it like 4 weeks ago and it's the first iteration of my earth design ever. feeling the strong urge to recycle when I look at him. anyway this is soft laucnhing the barrage of posts I'm about to unleash on the public in the next week and I've also been thinking about posting on other platforms but #doicare #unsure GO MY SOLAR SLOP
