man itās been a while
ā¢ā¢ā¢
I havenāt been around for a while so I thought Iād go ahead and formalise it:
Iāll be on hiatus for a bit due to school and other stuff going on at the moment. If you want to message me or get in touch then feel free, just donāt expect me to post for a while.
See you all soon!
Here are a few more glimpses of my gallery that I didnāt post last night. I think Iāll go in game to get some clearer shots, but Iām really feeling that glass case⦠the possibilities for skyscrapers etc. could be endless!
So hereās why I was looking for paintings; I made an Art Gallery! Technically the game sees it as a museum, but sims still come to admire the art all the same. The windows you see surrounding the build are actually a separate glass structure I made with MOO, which I really think adds something to the building.
lila-buildsĀ answered yourĀ question:
there are also room builds with paintings that you can place when you have already built something yourself on a lot
lhaniisimsā reblogged your post:
Found it! http://jools-simming.tumblr.com/post/115764710940/paintings-type-residential-lot-size-20-x-15
nyloaāĀ answered yourĀ question:
I think jools-simming made it.. maybe :P
Thanks everyone! Thisāll come in really handy. (Also cheers to jools-simmingā for making it!)

Does anyone know where I can find the TS4 lot with all the paintings on it? I am right in thinking one exists, arenāt I?

September 2nd? I thought Sims 4 was released on September 4th?
There were three different release dates in different regions around the world: it was first released on 2nd September in North America, then on the 4th in Europe and Australia, before finally being released on the 5th in the UK. I actually had to wait until the Friday because I live in England, but I figured that only date EA were likely to celebrate was the 2nd, so I'd join in then :)
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO THE SIMS 4!
2nd September 2014 ā 2nd September 2015
I seem to have started to redo Willow Creekāor at least, theĀ āstarterā neighbourhood out by the canal and the train line. I thought Iād go for a more uptown feel (gentrification ftw!) following on from this house I first shared back last month. Iād say itās turning out pretty well.
GENERAL EDITING TIPS FOR SCENERY
My method of editing really isnāt that precise; I donāt use an action so consequently each photo is slightly different. Here are some basics though that I tend to do to each shot I post (applies to Photoshop CC 2015, but I assume this would work in any version of the software):
Curves. This is a screenshot of a typical curve layer on a recent photoset. I donāt like to make my photos too bright as I find that often doing so will cause lighter colours to wash out, and I only really ever use the RGB curve to make adjustments. Lately Iāve been trying to stay pretty true to the natural game lighting.
Vibrance. Usually Iāll ramp up Vibrance to anywhere between +60 to +100, though for interiors and build shots this may be less. Sometimes I boost Saturation +5 or +10, too.
Selective Colour. Personally I find that this is the most important element in editing photos, as itās the tool that can completely change the mood of an image. I tend to find that the shadows ingame have a somewhat blue cast, so Iāll ramp up the yellow on the Black layer. Aside from that I tend to take each image as it comes: Iād definitely play around with this tool on various images to get to grips with it.
Gradient Layer. I use a radial gradient set to Overlay to add more depth to my photos. eversimsā has a great post about using gradients here.
Brightness/Contrast. This is what I use to get theĀ āpastel coloursā in my images: with Use LegacyĀ ticked,Ā Iāll finish the image off by reducing Contrast by 10, and then often reducing Brightness by 5 or so.
Thatās it really. I should probably make an action to speed things up, but I honestly havenāt looked into it before so Iām not too sure on how to do it. Hope this helps!
MARBURY HOUSEĀ ā a blank canvas for your sims.
I did actually furnish this at one point (hence the delay in uploading) but I really didn't like how it turned out, so I did what any reasonable person would do and completely gutted the entire house. Now there are just a fewĀ āessentialsā for your sims to get started.
