“Honestly, like did he find someone as weird as him?” She tried to imagine what his life would be like now but she genuinely couldn’t imagine it at all. “Oh, okay, got it. You’re totally right, a french speaking knight is definitely an ideal date.” Carter added, continuing to play along.
“I mean, he certainly couldn’t have found someone as great as you. but maybe he has found someone who matched him perfectly.” the redhead gave a shrug of her shoulders. “OF COURSE it’s the staple of being a gentlemen! I’m so ashamed you didn’t know this, Brady.” parker pretended to be disappointed, wagging a finger at the older girl. “how do we go from here, babe? were in a series of dumb and dumber as it seems.”
“I felt bad but I told him I wasn’t interested and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. I’ve had other bad dates but that one was definitely the worst.” she laughed along with her friend. “Wait, you mean a tux isn’t the appropriate attire for a first date to Olive Garden and mocking your accent isn’t totally charming?” Brady joked.
parker made a face, lips in a straight line and her eyebrows raised. “i am genuinely curious to know what he’s up to now. like.. that’s just tragic on his end.” parker shook her head. the redhead rolled her eyes at her friends playful mocking. “no! it isn’t. don’t ya know you’re supposed to show up in a whole suit of armor and speaking french?” she retorted.
Carter had been avoiding the pastry place for a while, unsure of how to approach the girl but a friend has asked her to stop and pickup an order so she had to go. Before she made it inside, she ran into Parker outside. “What is it, is Taylor okay?” She asked, worried about the boy that she had come to care a lot about. “I’m alright, uh, how are you?”
a ghost of a friendly smile grew on parker’s lips, awkward but trying to remain friendly. “yeah, yeah, taylor’s okay. just another one of his scuffles with any kid who pisses him off.” she chuckled quietly. pausing at carter’s words, parker couldn’t help but feel a small ping of sadness. the two were close but one little kiss and confession left things.. strange. “that’s good, i’m glad.” sincerely, she meant it. “i’m doing pretty well. keeping myself busy, y’know. same old same old.”
“Counting out loud. Who does that?!” She laughed along with her friend, recalling the horrible memory. “It’s horrible but I kinda ghosted him after that. He thought the date went great, I was not feeling it and he wouldn’t leave me alone. I had to block him.”
“oh that poor soul.” she clicked her tongue, shaking her head at the thought. men and boys truly don’t know a damn thing, she thought. “the audacity of boys and men alike, right?” she mused dramatically. “my worst first date story is nothing in comparison to yours, but it definitely was horrible. my first week of college freshmen year, my friend sat me up on a blind date. the dude showed up in a tux.. to olive garden. and he then proceeded to mock my accent the whole night.” parker grimaced at the memory. “‘g’day mate’‘” she mocked how the male butchered the saying. “it was just bad.”
“Oh, come on.” parker groaned, slipping her phone into her back pocket. it was the third time in two weeks that she has gotten a call from the school saying that taylor was in a scuffle with another student. really, how much drama could an eight year old have?? she was just lucky he wasn’t getting suspended, instead ISS. “what is it with boys and their need to always be rough housing.” she sighed, running her hands through her hair. “i reckon that boy will be the death of me, you know?” she hummed. “anyway, sorry, how are you? how’s your week been?”
“No way, I have the worst first date story. He was the literal boy next door. We went to a nature preserve, which I thought would be a super adorable first date but no, it was disappointingly awkward and we spent most of the time pulling twigs off of trees in silence. We ended up sitting on a log and talking and all of a sudden, when there was a lull in the conversation, he started leaning towards me and counting down out loud like he was a spaceship getting ready to say blastoff. He was actually counting down to kiss me! Needless to say, the date pretty much ended right there, but he still managed to work up the courage to try to make a few more moves on me before the evening ended.”
“noooo!” parker exclaimed covering her face, a string of laughter leaving her lips at just the imagery of brady’s first day story. “oh my god. that is awful, i’m so sorry.” she managed to get out between laughter. “he really was counting out loud? like.. WHY would he do that?!” she mused, looking at her friend with wide eyes. “did you give him a second date or did you just decide he was a little too.. well, that?”
lili mumbled some thank you to the waitress as she served her food, her cheek rested against the palm of her hand and a pair of sunglasses covering her eyes, still trying to sober up. she had forgotten that her tolerance level wasn’t that high as it was back then in her younger days, resulting in her current messy state.
“so my friends dragged me to a silent disco last night”, she suddenly spoke up, glancing at the person beside her while barely paying attention at how much tabasco sauce she was pouring over her scrambled eggs and bacon. “god, if i had known that they still over these years, i would have gone earlier. a mom needs some fun too, right?”
after pulling an all-nighter and having yet to go to sleep after dropping taylor off at school, parker decided to treat herself to a breakfast before attempting to rest until she had to get up and pick her son up from school. upon hearing the woman’s voice next to her, she couldn’t help but chuckle at her words. “i’ve never been to a silent disco, but i certainly agree, mama needs a night out too.” she agreed, taking a dip of her coffee. when was the last time she had been out? besides this quiet breakfast, she wasn’t sure. “i don’t think i’ve had proper a night out in the eight years of having my son. well, besides prom, that it.” she spoke, sighing. “but it looks like you had a brilliant time, eh?” she mused, gesturing to her sunglasses.

IT WASN’T OFTEN that the restaurant found itself understaffed, but tonight had been one of those nights. jimmy and the head chef had been rolling out orders all night, but for some reason or another, they needed jimmy to bring a tray out to a patron. unfortunately, that ended with him accidentally bumping a table and spilling half the table’s drinks. naturally, he went to indulge himself in a milkshake so he could sit in the embarrassment. “ i mean, luckily, they were super nice about the whole thing, but, like… it was mortifying. basically the entire staff just looked at me, both annoyed and amused at what i did. ” he sighed, taking a sip of his almost empty milkshake. “ honestly, this is why i was only a waiter for, like, three months. for some reason, the part of my brain controlling coordination just chooses to stop working when i’m dealing with a tray of food. ”
resting her chin in the palm of her hand, parker listen to jimmy’s rant; attempting her best to not laugh at his hectic day. really, she felt for the male. she’s had her fair share of accidents at the bakery and knows just well how embarrassing it is to have witnesses watch you fail. “oh boy.” she managed to get out but not without a small chuckle falling from her lips. “i’m sorry-- it’s not funny. i just get that.” the girl said with a huff of air, clearing her throat from anymore laughter. “i mean.. did they at least tip you?”

It wasn’t unlike Phoenix to end up in the public sectors of the library every now and again. When their work had finished early for the day, or if the library techs needed a hand upstairs, their familiarity with shelving and sorting had come in handy on more than one occasion when the tech staff was… well, understaffed. They were shelving a couple of books when they heard someone clear their throat around them. Unsure if it was a call for help or someone who probably needed a drink of water, Phoenix moved out from the shelving unit they were within, and made their way over to the end of the aisle, spotting someone down the way. “Just checking in, are you doing okay? If you need any help looking for something, I’m around and can lend a hand,” they smiled.
with her nose deep into her notebook, parker was startled by the sudden voice that spoke to her. she looked up to the other, a faint chuckle left her lips as she spoke. “oh, yeah, I’m okay!” she responded, straightening her back. “Sorry if I happened to distract you, I was in my own little world.” which was true. she often drifted into a whole other existence whenever she was studying. and with her upcoming exam, she had been studying as much as she could between making sure her son was also being taken care of. “y’know, working towards becoming a nurse is quite.. hellish.” she said, not really knowing why she said it but it was too late to take her words back.
『 abigail cowen. Twenty-three. cisfemale. she/her. 』 oh heavens, is that PARKER JAMES from CHESTNUT DRIVE i see roaming around mapleview? minnie may’s always calling them -ALOOF & -STUBBORN. i happen to think they’re not that bad! they’re a pretty cool BAKER/NURSING STUDENT and every time i’ve seen them, they’ve always been +LIONHEARTED & +FREE SPIRITED. i hope i see them around again!
hey, hi, hello! I’m Eli (23,cst, she/her) and lemme tell you. i’ve been looking for the perfect rp for my sweet girl and i’m so excited that i found this one. it’s so cute and i love the diversity of all the characters! anyway, i’m terribly sorry for how long her intro is, lol.
born on December 12th in Sydney, Australia to Katherine and Leo James, Parker is the fourth out of seven children. being from a big family, and being the oh so easily forgotten middle child who was assumed to looking after her younger siblings, Parker would say her childhood was pretty eventful with six other siblings.
at the age of ten, the James family moved to Mapleview. It wasn’t an easy transition, but they made do with everything that was tossed their way. Parker was exceptionally good at adapting, quickly making her place in the town and the ways of her new american life.
it was her sophmore year of high school when things became twisted and turned upsides down. young love, we all know the stories. Parker really thought her fifteen year old self was going to marry the boy she had been dating for only a year and some months. things moved fast, got hot and heavy. two weeks passed since she was expected to get her period. there’s no way she could’ve been pregnant, they used protection and she was in the pill. Surprise surprise: she was pregnant.
Much to her parents disappointment they refused to let their daughter deal with this on her own after they paid the boy’s parents to keep quite and not keep contact with Parker. To which, Parker was not aware of and just assumed said lover was scared and wanted nothing to do with her. like it was her fault. it wasn’t and she wouldn’t find out until years later on her graduation day. she gave birth to a beautiful boy named Taylor James. she would continue to go to college, wanting to get her nursing license.
only just this year her father helped her to buy a house on Chestnut Drive, knowing she wasn’t making enough at the bakery to do it on her own all the while going to school and raising a eight year old. she’s extremely grateful, especially seeing it as a small token of what they can pay towards her for knowingly keeping her son’s father out of his life.
personality wise, Parker is a warm soul who tries her hardest to look at everything with a small glimmer of hope. rose colored glasses if you will, but by choice. literally being the mom friend, she’s more than likely to hover over you with love and attention. it’s just who she is and always has been. though, it’s not always sunshine and smiles. some days its frustrated tears and bitter words, pushing away people and shutting out the ones she holds dear. she’s a wildcard at best who is just trying her best in the world.
