While I think Annabeth is not really a touchy person and fan of PDA, I also think she is extremely physical with Percy, she is either holding his hand, hugging, having his arm around her waist or shoulder. Since book one she is the one to start physical contact between them, from holding his hand in the underworld to asking for a hug in BoTL. Annabeth grew up in a house where she didn’t get physical affection from her dad and we know Athena is a cold as her statue in a winter night, in other words…I’m so happy Annabeth found Percy.

I don’t want to be rude, but Percy is a Hufflepuff
Not saying there’s anything wrong with Hufflepuff (you badgers are beautiful), but I honestly feel that Percy is a Slytherin. And this is if you HAD to pick a house.
The fact that loyalty is his fatal flaw doesn’t necessarily make him a Hufflepuff because they aren’t the only ones that are capable of being loyal.
If you look at the HP series, it could be argued that loyalty is often the cause for quite a few Slytherin downfalls/deaths. If Snape hadn’t been so steadfast to the memory of Lily then he might have lived a longer and possibly happier life (war aside). If disregarding loyalty for the sake of self-preservation is what you think of when you take Slytherins into account then he’s going against what would be highlighted as a defining part of his personality. And I think we all know Severus Snape is probably one of the most slythery Slytherins to ever slyther.
If a lot of Slytherins that were on Voldemort’s side of the war hadn’t been so loyal to the cause of blood purity or family that may have been involved in it, then they might not have ended up dead or imprisoned for following a deluded dogma. The Malfoys. Omg if you don’t think loyalty is so deeply ingrained in this house then I’m calling bullshit. Draco could have done quite a few things differently, but there’s no denying that a lot of what was driving those choices were his loyalty to his family and keeping them safe.
Slytherins definitely seem the kind of house to close ranks and protect their own.
I found a post that talks about some of the psychology traits of Slytherins and some of this sounds like Percy. Here, in particular: “…their compulsion to put aside very important personal desires for the sake of people they love always feels more righteous and pure to a Slytherin than any common “higher ethical ideals” that inspire moral posturing. Hell hath no fury like a Slytherin betrayed. Loyalty is precious and terrible because it makes you vulnerable, and so it’s given sparingly and deeply.”
I agree with this b/c Percy isn’t loyal to just anyone. In House of Hades, Percy comes to like Bob the Titan, even feels bad for having to leave him behind, but he did. Not to mention he used their friendship and Bob’s lack of memory to manipulate him into killing his own brother. That’s also the cunning you would see in a Slytherin.
I’m not saying that things are sunshine and rainbows 24/7, but there’s a sort of lightheartedness about Hufflepuffs that Percy lacks, and it’s not just b/c of his resting bitch face. It’s not necessarily that he’s dark, but there’s a neutrality about that way he looks at things that falls more in line of a Slytherin than a Hufflepuff.
But this is really just my opinion. Maybe some ppl are at the halfway where he could be a Slytherpuff??? I don’t know. I’m open to further discussion.

Do you ever reread the scene in the Last Olympian where Percy decides to take on the curse of Achilles and it’s such a vital and important decision that he could literally die from and had to get his mother’s blessing for and just when Percy thinks he’s not going to be able to handle the curse and is starting to disintegrate we have that beautiful beautiful scene where Percy imagines Annabeth up on the dock at Camp teasing him and saying “You’re not getting away from me that easily. Take my hand” because she is literally the person tying his soul to the world, his weak point, his achilles’s heel, and just get so overwhelming upset because hoo just casually washed away the curse simply to make him more equal to the rest of the seven because I do

Percy takes up a part-time job at the local pool as a life guard. There is a dramatic increase in people pretending to drown so they could be saved by the hot life guard.
Percy has not caught on to why people are “drowning” at an alarming rate and decides to teach a swimming class. There is a dramatic increase in people “not knowing how to swim”.
Ok how did you feel about rick describeing percy as wiry
I loved it!! I’ve never pictured Percy as being overly muscled; more lean and wiry and built for agility and speed rather than brute strength. He’s never tried to bulk up, his fitness comes from swimming and running and sword fighting, all of which would be impeded by being muscly rather than wiry.
