Hey guys, Mama!Ooc here. I'm still around. Won't be working on replies until tomorrow night. Work has been BRUTAL and I'm just mentally exhausted. Again, if you wanna rp, drop me a line and either you (or I) can start a thread, but it'll have to wait till tomorrow night. :)
If this World Isn't Real, Then Why...?
Reluctantly, she stood her ground. There was a serious tone in his voice; no way was he a push-over, she could deduce almost immediately. He even spoke a bit harshly considering she was a complete stranger, but Touko was relieved in the fact that he made no further advances at the encounter.
Still, the brunette only smiled meekly, keeping her distance just far enough away, so as to not startle him, or perhaps provoke any sort of confrontation.
"Ehh, I was honestly just looking for a way outta these woods… n-not really a fight." She slumped a little to the side in distress; if being brought to it, she wouldn’t have a choice to accept his challenge. Neither was this her wish nor desire, but she’d defend herself. The guy didn’t seem to be too keen on starting a fight, however, which eased her worries slightly.
Reeling back from her state of lamentation, Touko’s face began to glow with a sudden curiosity. Stepping closer towards him, still cautiously taking tiny steps, she spoke with a little more boldness. “I’m new to Kanto, so I’m not really too familiar with this area. I kinda got lost during the night.”
Her eyes began to sparkle a tad as she stood before him; perhaps this could be her chance. ”Hey, you wouldn’t happen to know a way out of here… would you? Like, a way into the next city?”
Hugh blinked in surprise. Was this person the meek kind? The way she fell against the tree in some sort of desperation or depression is what he used to base his theory on.
"Oi, hold on...are...you okay? It's not like I really want to fight either but you surprised me." He said quietly, bringing his tone down just a bit. Some people called him overbearing and hotheaded. He didn't need yet another person labeling him as such.
Her next few words, however, made him to believe that MAYBE she was in a state of delirium from being lost in the forest for awhile. Hell, he'd CAMPED out in the woods, so he was a bit surprised to find another person lurking around as well (despite the area being thoroughly populated with trainers at later times in the day)
Izumi, the Oshawott, began chuckling and shook it's head in dismay. Prompting the spiky haired teen to make a comical expression as the girl approached him.
"Lady...trust me. If I knew the way out of this place, I'd be outta here by now." He grumbled, slightly turning to the side to show the girl his backpack. "Actually, I was just camping out here...It's like the damn trees in this place just grow on their own. The forests in Unova aren't quite like this. So, to be blunt, I'm lost as hell..." He sighed, watching the girl's face for signs of disappointment (because if he were in her shoes, he'd sure be disappointed that the only person he ran into who didn't seem to want to battle was as lost as himself).
Hugh: Shut your mouth...I'm a boss ass bitch!
If this World Isn't Real, Then Why...?
Kanto was a region ripe with mystery, and a chance for Touko to take her journey to a land beyond the ones she had been roaming over the past few months. The moment she spotted the sign for Viridian Forest, she took the chance of darting into the woods for the remainder of the night. Anything was better than remaining out in the open, susceptible to the dangers of engaging in a battle with another trainer.
From what she could observe, the stage was home to quaint Pokemon, creatures in their early levels and therefore no threat to her decent line-up of firepower. It was quiet, almost giving the girl a comforting security she hadn’t felt in a long, long time. Wandering around however, she began losing track of time, as well as the path before her.
Checking the hours on her menu screen, Touko closed out of it and continued to look around; if she hadn’t checked, she would’ve never guess it was approaching dawn. Her navigation system was picking up very little information in the recesses of the forest. Aimlessly, she wandered around for an exit, scurrying between bug-Pokemon and trying to remain firm in her quest to at least reach the other side in one piece. It was almost as if the forests were made to keep people trapped inside of them.
And so, to Touko’s surprise, seeing another figure not far off was rather nerve-wracking. Immediately, she felt herself shutter with anticipation. What if this person wants to fight? She pondered, trying to make as little noise as possible while following their footsteps. Perhaps they may know of a way out.
Suddenly, while lost in thought, her foot came crunching down on a branch, producing a sound that echoed a few feet around her. Immediately, she wanted to flee, to dart into the thickets surrounding her and disappear from harm’s way. But Touko had indeed made her presence known - running wouldn’t solve anything, other than getting herself even more off the beaten path. Anxiously, she stepped forward, knowing all too well that she had no other choice. “You lost as well?” she muttered, hesitantly approaching the boy. Locking eyes with another trainer usually meant certain death, for either party involved. She could only hope this wouldn’t be the case.
As Hugh made his way deeper and deeper into the winding forest, he caught glimpse of sunshine through the trees. Funny how a world that was suppose to be false, actually radiated warmth through artificial light.
"Ooshaa!" Izumi cried, turning it's head as Hugh walked on.
"What's wrong, Izumi?" He asked, stopping in his tracks when he heard it too...the rustling of leaves. It was faint but Hugh has spent quite awhile in the quiet of the forests with only the cries of Pokemon to keep him company...and of course, Oshawott.
Either way, the trainer's eyes narrowed and kept walking slowly, waiting in anticipation for whatever it was following him. Was it perhaps Team Plasma? Before he had a chance to speculate any further, a twig snapped loudly enough to halt any of his movements and caused him to spin around.
"Who's there?!" He exclaimed, with his Pokemon echoing his exclamation.
"Come out right now unless you want to fight...!" He warned but his expression fell flat and honestly quite surprised when a trainer came out of the brush. Anticipation and anxiousness were apparent in both her stance and in her expression.
Letting out both a frustrated and a relieved sigh, Hugh calmed himself and placed a hand on his hip.
"You shouldn't sneak up on people like that, you know." He scolded, despite just meeting the young lady.

Now that Pewter City was behind him, this forest was all that stood between him and Viridian City. He’d been through this forest once before, back when his sense of direction within this game was less refined, and had gotten terribly lost. It made him glad to know his way now since he didn’t want a repeat of that experience. He had been going the other way then, heading towards the city he had just departed the previous day.
Maybe his sense of direction hadn’t improved that much after all and he was just remembering the layout of forest from that time, but either way, he knew this Viridian Forest well enough to know the best route through it. Throughout the forest were bug and flying type pokemon and a few other types more rare to the area. But if there were any areas of the forest he wanted to stay out of if he could, he wanted to avoid the occasional pockets of poison type pokemon that appeared. As much as he considered these pokemon friends too, he had a limited supply of healing items and didn’t want to risk the safety of the friends who were travelling with him.
Among these friends were Zorua and Snivy, who were helping him keep a lookout for other people and pokemon who were nearby. As long as he moved fast and kept from encountering too many wild pokemon he could get to Viridian City by the following day. He doubted there would be that many trainers in this area either, but it’d be easiest not to run into anyone.
He hoped this would be the case and that he wouldn’t meet anyone, but a fair distance away he spotted someone heading east. They hadn’t seen him so he could just continue on his way, but if that person continued in that direction they wouldn’t find they’re way out of this forest for days. He had to at least… point them in the right direction.
"Hey!" He shouted, and tried to catch the stranger’s attention. "You’re going the wrong way!"
No reaction… He must be too far away.
"Zorua, Snivy, I’ll catch up to you. Can you go get that guy’s attention for me?" His request was answered by an excited cry from Zorua and a nod from Snivy. The two took off ahead of N. Deviating from his path as well, N followed the pokemon, but of course they arrived first.
A few moments later, N caught up. “Sorry,” he said, “I called but you didn’t hear me. I noticed you were heading the wrong way. Are you lost?”
Hugh wasn't sure if it was the way he was going, or if it was the fact that he'd just woken up, but he could've sworn he was hearing things. Were they actually trainers in this forest? Although it was a well-known fact that, yes, there was indeed many trainers in Viridian Forest, he'd yet to run into any. To top it all off, he was certain he was hearing voices...
"Oshaashaa!" Izumi cried, suddenly jumping off of Hugh shoulder and in front of him.
"Oshaoshawaa!"
Hugh frowned and took a defensive posture when Izumi became agitated "What's wrong, Izumi....huh?" And suddenly, in front of the teen appeared two Pokemon.
"Huh? A Zorua and Snivy...?" Hugh blinked in surprise, holding up his wrists were his watch where his PJO watch activated. The digital screen popped up, showing the Pokemon's basic stats and...a digital trainer ID?
"Their not wild...? Then again, these are Unova Pokemon." It was when the long haired man approached that Hugh looked back up.
"So...these are your Pokemon." He said, narrowing his eyes. "You shouldn't let them wander around. Who knows what kind of people lurk around here." He said, his face turning slightly comical when the taller teen asked if he was lost.
"....This forest is just so damn confusing." He muttered, reaching out to let Oshawott climb back up his shoulder. "...I don't suppose you have a Kanto map, do you?"

It was that same scene over and over again. It played in the young man's head so many times during the night, he often thought he was going crazy...but then he felt his body jerk upwards, felt the cold sweat that beaded on his brow, pour down his face, felt the pain in his chest that came with having his breath held in for so long...and then the realization that the images that plagued him weren't just an awful nightmare...they were past reality.
Finally deciding that he'd spent enough time in his sleeping bag, Hugh ran his hand through his wild, Quilfish-like hair and stood up, looking around make sure everything was in order around his camp site.
"Izumi...Did you fall asleep?" Hugh frowned, watching as the Oshawott snoozed soundly against the tree, drool pouring down his freckled cheeks.
"Dummy." He smiled softly, rolling up his sleeping bag, and cleaning up his camp sight before he picked up the small water mammal.
"Oi...it's morning. Get up." He commanded, unable to suppress a small chuckle as Oshawott yawned and shifted around in his arms, seeming to dislike the poking. As soon as it opened it's eyes, Izumi jumped up looking around a few times before sighing and rubbing the back of its head in apology.
"I told you to wake me up if you were getting sleepy. I would've put someone else on guard duty." While Oshawott muttered comically in its own PokeLanguage, Hugh began making his way back though the Viridian Forest.
He hated to admit it, but he was lost. And the trees in this particular forest seemed to extend on forever.
"What are the chances we run into a human in this foresty hell?" He asked Izumi, who shrugged in response. If only he could find a Kanto map...

Hugh stared at the Tumblrbot in confusion before actually giving the question a little thought. "...If every place in this world is digital, then I don't really see the point. However, I would like to head over to the Johto region. I've heard very interesting things about it."
