caffeine floods the system in a way she needed , the ringing echoes as Ashley stares into her cup ( * the soft buzzing of the radio playing in the background filters into the back as she exits the diner ) the soft bell chiming as she leaves ; her phone rings once ... twice & a third time. too many calls might be pushy and there always a chance that the receiver is busy. the agent shifts , moving towards her car reaching for the file provided with her investigation briefing. the notes are there ; organized into how she prefers it. a soft hum plays out between glossed tiers , the same one that was being played in the diner. ( * after hearing it the second time it stuck , though she may be biased to prefer her own cds. )

bright optics stare at the screen for a moment ; it a broker phone so she doesn't have to worry about the message being intercepted ( * the last thing the agent needs is someone other then Indra knowing what she is doing ) setting down the phone & Ashley shifts the gear the engine shifts to life sending her on her journey.

a former shell of what it would have been in the days of it operating , her flashlight navigates the weaving corridors. a droning silence that filters through the air ... ( eerie & a sterile feeling to plain white walls ) shifting her wrist to check the corners as she enter deeper into the building. pausing when footsteps double to her own. " you came , I wasn't sure if you wore going to. " there relief & she turns fully facing Indra ... silence filters through the two , Ashley recognizes the guarded look placed on features.

mini headcanon : style analysis !

picked out three outfits ; that fit into the main topics towards Ashley style in terms of color pallete , texture layering & trend influence.

ranging in timelines , across any season or occasion Ashley sticks to the pallete of green , brown , orange's now she does keep in line with trends ( incorporating for example patterns into her wear ) but it is often as accent shades and not the main focus. texture layering & compatibility is a big thing for her in terms of expression of self and creativity. sewing fabrics ; attaching charms and sometimes projects made from scratch. this applies to her main verse and to her agent verse where these themes still are seen but what is taken into consideration is mobility and what is suitable in the field ( textures that are better for comfort & long wear as some mission lengths are always uncertain. )

It was easy to spot , whether a sweater or something incorporating it in the little details.

she thinks there some psychology in that the reasoning has some significance or atleast she's read it on some magazine page before , but that not her field of expertise. a toned out or bright shade of it. she has to think , it nice having someone close her age to talk to.

Trevor was different in that sense of wanting to get to know her / where she was used to silence * a yes or will do wore the the type her father assigned to her detail , trusted sources which yes she was used to but it got exhausting where a conversation started and ended with whatever you think.

" she knows an icebreaker is not exactly totally thrilling but it feels simple enough a point to start for them better then a two truths one lie scenario , she was already comfortable maybe how easy going it is to talk or the expression given a relaxed smile that Ashley mirrors in her own way .

Listening to Ashley speak, he found her voice oddly soothing. He kept his hands in the pockets of his pants as he looked down at her. And the more he looked at her, she reminded him of a kitten; it was cute. Even to the point that Trevor smiled and managed a little chuckle in response to her reply about zodiac signs. ❝ From my understanding, blue and orange complement each other on the color wheel, right? ❞ 

Oh Gods, was he flirting? He can't be flirting with a client.

Clearing his throat, he tugged on his collar, suddenly feeling warm. However, he couldn't tell if it was from heat or embarrassment. ❝ I mean, I think it could be a sign that our favorite colors go together, so this could be an interesting dynamic between us. ❞ Trevor wasn't sure if that was helping his case or not; either way, it was best to remain silent while Ashley spoke. When presented with a question, Trevor was able to gather his thoughts and give her an answer. 

❝ I'm embarrassingly good at the game Dance Central. I used to play it with my guys back in my shop, ❞ he paused. ❝ Sorry, gonna try to cut the military talk, what I mean by shop, I mean, just my office. Every Friday, we'd get drunk to the high heavens and just dance. ❞ Trevor explained, even blushing faintly at the image of it. 

When Ashley suggested they go together, Trevor responded with a nod before gesturing for her to follow. ❝ Then I guess I have to go with your recommendation, but if I don't like it, you owe me. ❞ And Trevor will not specify how.

" Ashley listens when Trevor gives the question a thought and the answer is unexpected ; it sounds fun though & the blonde can see the appeal on cutting loose and good time. iterating that he doesn't need to apologize / it still counts as getting to know him military talk or not * it still a prominent memory and she's happy to listen. " maybe you could teach me one day ? total warning though I'm a total novice at it and I really mean that. "

the whole comparison of two left feet when Ashley prides herself on sewing & fabric rather then ryhtmatic coordination skills. following in step , till they reach the small truck parked ( * decorated and parked to the side. ) the small chalk board placed the side with the days speciality chalked in a curve to the lines with a simple sketch and a exclamation mark to really emphasis that it something to pay attention to.

over twenty missing in two years. polished fingertips pressed at printed paper edges & the deep frown that sets on the blonde is prominent. bright hues set to look out at the muddied grey clouds that cling to the sky , the plaque at her desk reads senator Graham the letters bold and in the italic font. the familiar name of who had written the article rings memories ( * who she had stayed in contact with ) rising up as she fishes out her phone opening her contacts.

the casualness in the tone had never really changed even as Ashley had grown , the echo of the reflection in the glass pronounced so ( * not only physically but the glint in eyes although carrying the same warmth carried a more authoritative sheen ; a confidence to it. ) a lot had happened after the last time they spoke in person between the article published about the follow up of her kidnapping , files shared toning the deceive at the heart of who is mean't to be trusted.

which became the catalyst of the path chosen , not that it suprised many * America's sweetheart following in her father's steps ? It was predictable as much as it mean't that the eyes on her had became more open to be critical & focused on the details.

the ping of the text back , as the blonde arranged the transport to take her to Lousiana. the questioning momentary gaze at the sudden trip but quickly answered in the courtesy of meeting a good friend. tucking the article in the messenger bag looped at the handle on the coat rag ; gaze set on the open contact as the whirl of the elevator taking her up echoed.

hues divert free hand rising , twisting wrist to gaze at the time. Ashley would have gotten there bright early , sunlight to spare & time to talk / the article only had said so much and knowing Alyssa there was more to it.

luis tells her to hide , the echoing of chants all too familiar wavering the dread that sends a chill down the spine * nearing close to the house or what left of it that their passing through Ashley complies ducking down where the wall splits & what she can make of a small room broken off concleaed from sight. I'll deal with this , you stay right here. she pauses bright optics catch his gaze ... " you'll come back right ? " it silly to ask because she know's he wouldn't just leave her behind but the small part of her brain needs the reassurance. she already knows what it like to be alone before leon & him showed up / Ashley doesn't want to go through that again.

" she wishes she could help but rationally Ashley knows this is their best option ; that what remains of those people will strike at the chance to pick & whisk her away at the quickest convenience. the lost sacrificial lamb needed to be brought to fulfill the purpose set out by the hivemind at the center of it all.

The agent who had come to grab him hadn’t told him why, just that someone was waiting for him in the lobby. He stood there now, confused, until out of the corner of his eye he spotted a familiar blond head of hair. An arm stretched up above her head, fingers spread, waving him down.

His face split into a grin. She had a matching one, so he assumed this was just a friendly visit and not because of something urgent, which was always a relief. Between both of their work and the potential politics of it all he could never be too sure. It had been a while since they had last seen each other in person.

He couldn’t help the way his pace picked up as he approached. Excitement trailed off of him until at the last minute he remembered where he was and dialed it back. He came to a slightly stilted stop in front of her.

“Ms. Graham.” He said, teasingly-respectful, like she was some high-ranked client. He resisted the urge to go in for a hug but there was no hiding the affectionate edge to his smile and light in his eyes. If he were a dog his tail would’ve been wagging. “How can I help you?”

ashley had always favoured towards surprises ; cream shaded scarf tucked around neck under the chin ( * the outside wind & lunch hour a total maze to coordinate with directions in mind ) bright hues focused , familiarity of tiers tucked upwards in a radiant smile when waving him down had worked. thanking the agent who had kindly went to get him / kindly in the way where as soon as he recognized the blonde there was no question a simple yes & disappearing out of eyesight , leaving her in the vast space of the lobby.

" I'm not interrupting right ? I was out with a friend for coffee & thought I'd come visit. " a casualness to the tone , the bubbling warmth stays as it always has ( * something she can't help uniform or not. ) Ashley knew how hectic it got ; bad guys don't just take vacations after all. " well agent , my guard on a break think they'd let you accompany me for lunch ? "

which in itself was a half truth , the guard on her details was on a break but it was because Ashley had asked him to. a promise settled that she'd have someone capable with her which in it self had been quite the task when the first remark was nice try ma'am before a begrudged agreement at persistence . the blond knows the reason was clearly not wanting to take the bite from their father ( * he was answering to him at the end of the day after all. )

" like an hours top , I know I shouldn't push it too much. " there was an exception at playing that card after all ; it not something she likes to use either ... but with a catch up long in due she felt it was fine this time to use.
